Jeff, next time GET PICS!!!! Of the job of course

I'm looking for ways to keep my overhead down and to possibly lower it considerablly too. I already buy all my chems, parts and stuff online. Except for my deck chems because nobody can come close to what I am using. I'm already shopping for better prices on insurance for my work vehicles and personal vehicle. I got 2 more years to go on my office/garage lease. I already split my secratery's wages with my 2 brothers. She answers the phones for all 3 of our businesses as we have offices next to each other in the same complex. And yes, we do get along very well! I don't buy every new whatsy hoosey that comes out. What gives? My overhead is really starting to get on my nerves! With this economy here in MI, things are getting really tight in this state. Everyone's very price concious lately and for a good reason. With the price of gas going up again, it's about to get a lot worse. Heck, I'd just do drive offs, but all my trucks are lettered! LOL! Any help would be welcome! Come on all you bean counters! It's crunch time!

Scott, you're right, PRICELESS. LOL Jeff, good ideas, thanks for sharing.

Are Phil Ray's cds on closing worth the money? They want 249.00 for all 3. Seems kinda high to me. If you say that they are worth the $, then I'll probably buy them.

Thanks Ken. You da man.

I'm sorry to hear that James. I went down the street today and saw 3 different pressure wash vehicles go by in a matter of about 10 minutes. I never heard of any of these companies b4 either. Pricing is all over the place here too. Decks I'm bidding at $550.00 others are bidding at $375.00 to $450.00. All of my expences are going up and my prices are either staying the same or going down. It's survival of the fittest here.

Deck Cleaning - what products to use?
Jarrod replied to Lou Beach's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I use TWP 100 seris exclusivly (I know I spelled that wrong!) I always strip it off and restain. Pennofin decks look very dark, so I strip & brighten them too. -

How is that easier? I mean is it because I won't have to stain the spindles? That would be nice. So, I take it that you are washing the entire deck (verts & horizontals) and then just recoating the horizontals? This intrigues me. (Sean Connery voice) -

I don't know how people get away with not stripping decks b4 staining them. I guess where I'm at, it is standard procedure, unless the contractor is a newbie. I mean no offence by saying this, I'm just telling you what it is like in my neck of the woods. -

Because it was stripped 3YEARS AGO. eVERYTIME YOU PREP A PREVIOUSLY STAINED DECK, YOU FIRST MUST STRIP IT. Deck care 101 -

wood still looks kinda grey to me. Or maybe it's just the lighting. BTW, you should just use 900 - 1200 psi on wood. Get a 4006 or 4008 tip. -
Assume HD80?

How about a push/pull tip that you can customise with your own tips. If one exists, I'll buy 2 of them right now!
