Downstream HD80 on it and rinse it off, then brighten it. -
Heck, I would have tried it years ago if it wasn't for all the negetive lies that were posted about it.

Come on Jim, it seems you are always waiting in the shadows for an oppertunity to get under Ken's skin. Ken is an expert wood guy. I have learned a lot from him & others here. The fact is, WTW made my company better in many ways. We have never been on schedule like we are this year. The fact that our decks look 10X better than they ever did, really speaks volumes for WTW. We have done at least 50 jobs with WTW this year. So far I'm very glad I switched to it. There's no such thing as a perfect product. Every "feature" comes with a price. For example - (Ready Seal) Feature - you can pretty much set the can in the middle of the deck and kick it over and it looks great. Price - You have to set up, drive to the job, stab the deck in 4 different areas with a stupid moisture meeter, & if the moisture content is above 12%, go home. That "price" ruins the whole thing for me right there. My guys would quit in a week.

No problems here either. It has been a great product for us so far. My guys love it, & so do my customers.

Try FNT or FNTR for Flint or try Bishop

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because of the carrying capacity of the bus that I'm chartering, I have to limit attendance to 45 people. I am currently working with the vendors about the cost of this event. As soon as I find out about the cost to the attendees, I'll post that number. Whatever the cost is to the attendees, believe me, it will be worth it. Barry and Don are helping me to plan this event. I want to thank them for that. I will be talking to Michael Kreisle this week regarding his topic. He shared a ton of great info at the STL RT in Feb. For the demos - Deck strip - I will be stripping a 500 sq. ft. deck and going over all the tricks that will save you a ton of time. House wash - I will wash a nasty, moldy house using the downstream method. This will give you a "hands on" look at this method. If you're on the fence with ds'ing houses, this will convince you that ds'ing is faster & easier than X-Jetting. Deck stain - Me & Barry will stain a 500 sq. ft. deck with Wood Tux. And yes, it will be wet. I will share my efficiency methods with you as well. It's one thing to read and hear about methods. But I gotta tell you, seeing is believing! What's really cool, you get to see WTW in action in a real setting. If there's enough interest, I will also do a short fleet wash demo. Each demo will take less than an hour to do. (As far as the labor goes) I talked to both Bob and Paul. They said that they will gladly bring highly asked about items and maybe some concept items (time permitting) to the RT. We have plenty of room at the hotel for a viewing section. If time allows, product demos might happen too. How many times have you wished you bought something sooner, but you didn't b/c you did not fully understand the product? Start posting what you want to see at the RT. I want to see a 4 way tip switcher! I'm not giving up on that! Let's face it, the end of July is always slow for most of us. Let's get all fired up again and learn some stuff too. What's nice is, when we all go back home, we can apply all this stuff right away! There's still plenty of good working weather after the meeting.

By the way seating is limited to 45 people. The bus can only fir 45 people on it.

Waterford Airport is 1 mile away from the hotel

Multiple strips

ditto -
He's full of crap. With that squirt gun, he can't possibly wash more than 2 houses per day. Some of my competition consist of "nice guys" too. But they are morons.

First WTW of the season

Probably b/c the wood in that area wasn't weathered as much as the rest of the deck. Sometimes when you spray the railings from the outside without tarping, you will get a glossy look on the floor near the rails. This basically is a sign of over-application. -

No offense, but Shane is right. It looks kinda uneaven in the grill area. Maybe it's just the angle, or lighting? -
My first impression of WTW
Jarrod posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I stained my 460 sq. ft. 3 year old PT deck on Sunday. I used warm honey gold. Appearance - Fantastic! My deck looks so good, I wanna eat it. The color is very rich and like a golden brown, honey tint. The wood looks very natural. I hate the way PT wood looks bare, WTW fixes that problem well. It gives it exactly what it is missing - a nice, rich appearance. Application - It applied a lot like TWP. It is a bit "thicker" than TWP. It was very easy to apply. No back-brushing was needed after I sprayed my spindles. It did not lap on my floor either. Method - I used an airless on my spindles and a flat 18" pad for the floor. I used a 4" pad on my handrails. Spread rate - Last year, I used Messmer's on my deck. I used 6 gallons. This time with WTW, I used, are you ready for this? A whopping 2.5 gallons! Time on the job - 1 hour. - By myself. (I'm a hack remember?) Coats - 1 coat. Believe me, that's all you'll need! Learning Curve - There is a bit of truth to this "learning curve" thing. DO NOT OVER APPLY THIS PRODUCT! It is not necessary. On flooring, spray on a light coat and back-brush with a dry pad. The floor will have plenty of stain on it. This product is so rich in solids and pigment that 1 coat is very sufficient. My deck ended up a bit tacky because I over applied the stain. I did this by dipping a flat pad in the stain and forcing it into the wood instead of spraying and back-padding. Celeste and Russell told me that some mineral spirits will solve the tacky problem. So, was the deck wet or dry? - I'll admit, I chickened out on wetting my entire deck down before I stained it. BUT, I did soak the crap out of my stairs 1 minute before I applied WTW. My staircase is 6 steps by 10 feet wide. I had water puddles all over my stairs when I stained them. At first, the stain turned yellow and looked wierd. At this point, I called Russell and told him what I saw. He said, "Just trust the technology." After about 10 minutes, the stain looked normal. Now, you cant tell the difference between my stairs and the rest of my deck. Am I a WTW convert? - So far, I'm very pleased. I have high hopes for this product in my lineup this year. -
I washed a house today and I got some if my house wash with bleach on the HO's asphalt driveway. It left a white stain on it. I rinsed, but it really didn't do much for the stain. The HO didn't say anything to me, but I want to find out how to remove the stain. How do I avoid this in the future? By pre wetting?

LOL. Now, I'm the "Fumigator"

Test spot on stripping Behr
Jarrod replied to seymore's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Shane, how could you?! You know full well that Behr is the best stain in the world. Why would you go and strip that stuff off? HUH? How can you even sleep at night? -
Problem area, Thanks ahead of time
