Paraffinic / Linseed oil
Ethan replied to RPetry's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I completely agree. It's the quality of the resins, mildew/fingicides and driers. -
Does anyone know of a good granular formula of exterior wood cleaner. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Ethan posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Does anyone know where to get curved brass spray wands at wholesale pricing and all the parts? Also, I need to try and find a fitting for the spout on a 325 gallon tote tank to make it curve downward. Anyone have any ideas??? -

Hey there. Sorry to bother you but it looks as if I have caused a stir. Last week I fired a guy and he took my laptop with him with all my passwords to different sites. He has threatened to do things to harm my company. I have changed my password on this site and others. His name is Robert Hollie if he ever pops up on here. Again sorry for the post and sorry to Bakers Grey Away. I do sell products on my site but again thats not the way I do business. Sincerely sorry! -

Bakers Grey Away is absolutely horrible. I've seen the testing on the product. My own opinion but it's a fact. -
2006 Sealer Poll: Which are you using this year?
Ethan replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hey everyone! My company manufactures exterior oil-based semi-transparent wood stain. It has been through accelerated testing and is showing to last longer than the one's we tested against. Since I am a member of this site and "LIKE IT ALOT", I will offer all members our stain at $19.95 per gallon. If you would like, I will give you 10% off the first order so you can see how great the product is. Call me or reply if you have questions. Ethan -

Ethan replied to Jarrod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I should re-phrase that comment I made for you. Water-Based isn't going to last as long as oil based. Also, totally different climates. -

I have raun into homeowners that have "tried" using this stuff and was a complete nightmare. Anything that is water-based isn't going to last on exterior wood. -
Advertising and getting your name out there.
Ethan posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I had a question for the VETERANS out there. I have been doing exterior wood restoration (staining/sealing/cleaning/repairs) for about 6 months now. What is the absolute best way to advertise for this business? What did you all do 6 months into the start of your business (PLEASE DON'T SAY...STARVE) :) I use internet marketing and direct mail ads. The direct mail ads are not really that cost effective and the inetrnet marketing just isn't enough. Thanks!! Ethan -

Ethan replied to JFife's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I use a method that gives my customers a price break if they have a larger fence than others. If they have a fence that is over 2000SF, I will give a $.02 deduction per square foot. This goes for clean and seals as well as seals only.
