  1. Hey Jamie,

    Greetings from just north!

Don't ya just love when those hoses go!? We ourselfs have been looking into crimpers and let me tell ya what... They are not cheap! The hydrolic ones are around 1500$. Worth it if you do enough hoses. They do however make a fitting that allows you to fix hoses without a crimper.

It basicaly works on a thread design. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I think it depends on your hose.

    Hope this helps!

    Joe

  2. When You decide to go this option your choices are almost unlimted.

Using the right equipment you could invoive and recieve payment all on the spot.

Quickbooks pro is amazing as far as all the differnt options and things you can do.

    Imagine this:

Laptop in truck, print invoice, custumer pays with credit card, use laptop w/ wireless card from cell phone company and quickbooks and there ya go... Invoived, and paid on the spot.

Having a Laptop on site is great! Billing, Customer information and also the ability to showcase your work to name a few. We also used a laptop based GPS unit at first. worked ok but NOT the same as a stand alone GPS just much cheaper.

But remember that it all comes at a cost!

  3. Yup, I have to agree with Dave O, And boy is it a pain in the but to keep working in the winter! We have alot of inside power washing work but the rig is still out so back to the fun 12 step processes of winterizing all the machines! Can't wait tho to get that new Carpet rig that will do 3000 psi @5.5! then no more winterizing just keep the heat up in the van!

  4. WOoooooo I Forgot the . in between the 2 and the 2 hahaha

it should read 2.2 million, which is still a lot! and that does not count one of our accounts which is about 40 stores that average 30,000 to 35,000 sq feet.

I should mention, yes someone is making really good money on these accounts but it is not me!I was only 5 years old when this company started doing floors after all. I am just a faithful and devoted employee who is helping grow the power washing end of it.

Ron I will give you a call next week. What day would be good for you?

  5. ROCK ON... Not enough money being a ROCK STAR! HAHA "yea right"

I do agree with alot of what was said. If you can find someone who is cheap and knows what they are doing then it is worth it! BUT we are still looking into getting one. Think about it like this. sure it is only 5 bucks to get an end replaced but then you have an employee out on the road and there is more time, plus gas and a vehicle out.

We do not only power wash either. We maintain something like 22 million sq feet a week of vct and also do the strip work. so we have alot of propane machines and this propane hoses. So we have a multi faceted use for the crimper.

  6. Hey guys,

I am looking for some water proof covers for our power washers. Like the ones that people use for grills. But I would like to be able to have them tied/straped down while going down the highway.

Let me know what you guys are using or if you have any lines on this stuff.

    Appreciate it! Thanks

Recently we have been having probblems with our steel eagle unit getting wet, Yet our Hydro tech can be soaked and still work.

    Joe

  7. Hey guys!

I am doing alittle looking for a new machine. We have a few acounts that have noise resctictions and we do work inside, I know that we can take any motor we want and convert it to propane. We do it for floor Machines. Anyways We want something with a burner that we can run inside.

Any one have any ideas for me?

    Thanks in adcance!

  8. No one from DC? Oh man Oh Man, Ya wana talk about beggers. Out of many stories I will tell ya this one...

I was in dc on Benning Rd and Minnisota (sp?). 3am in the morning last winter. I was winterizing the rig and I saw this guy heading twords me. I turned the Ipod off But acted as I did not see Him. When he got up to me he acting all aplogetic for walking up behind me. Ha! I told him He was nuts, He doesnt know who I am, I mean come on, A white guy in DC at 3 am? Then he asked me for money... He needed to buy transmision fluid for his car to get home to WALDORF, MD. He "wasn't from the city" said, then he told me how his 3 year old twins were still in the car waiting for him. Holding back laughter, I told him no, and asked him why he thought I was in DC at 3 am. WOrking OF course cause I need money too! He left I laughed then got yelled at by my wife for bieng "confortational" (sp?) I usally just say no tho.

oh and by the way, GRETTINGS FROM SUNNY CABO SAN LUCAS! going snorkling now!

  9. HI Daniel,

My vote goes for the IPOD. I will start off by saying tho that I am NOT a mac zellet. I have no exprince with the Zune but Mac has been at this for a while now and It works! plus you can get the new 80 gig for 350. I paid 300 for my 30. (almost full too) I do have some power washing pictures on it and it is nice to Have when The laptop is not around. I is also nice to have around when you are waiting on a job for somereason. Last week we had to wait about an hour for an area to clear and My guy and I were watching Cartoons that I have downloaded and I had the Sound going through the truch Speakers. Thay have there place! But no matter what you get, go to someone like bestbuy and Get thier Warranty. Water and electronics do not mix.

    Just my 2 cents.

    717-676-0159-cell

  11. Hey Stan,

To be honest I do not know where you can get it in your area. As you know shipping usally is not the cheapest but we are a distrubitor and can sell it to you. We stay pretty low. The best thing you can do is call My Boss. His name is shawn. Talk to him about shipping it down to you. Also he would know the best cleaner for it.

    I'll PM you the number.

  12. Grettings,

If the floor in the office is VCT you deffintly want to get something on it. VCT is porus(sp?) and all that red mud and grease will soak in and it will be near imposible to get out unless you have something like a sidewinder with Pad Drivers using 3m hypro pads.

So that beig said I would recamend a Harder wax. Seeing how you will only be cleaning it once a week. Now heres a Question... Are you going to be Buffing this floor as well?

I would Recamend Pioneers Diamond Shine. Has a Good Shine and will Remain Harder to stand UP!

  13. You learn somthing new every day, I always thought that carpets were cleaned with low pressure and low flow of water, I never realized it was so similar. Still it seems to me that that much pressure would tear up some carpets, but wht do I know I wash trucks for a living LOL.

Hey paul your right. Tooo mUch pressure would tear up resi caprets but most truck mount carpet cleaners are anywhere from 500 psi to 1300psi. so it deffintly depends on the job.

  14. well grizzley to be completly honest I am not sure completly yet. We have the vacuum in the form of a steel eagle reclaim unit so the rest is just in the wands like you said. and once we get our flow down to were we want it, it is just going to be a matter of getting the pressure down thorugh tip size. Just last night I was in a store and watch some guys clean the carpet in the entrance and they did not even use an extraction unit. They just sprayed Chem with a pump Up sprayer and uses a cymex (sp) type of machine to brush it and then they dried it with a fan. HA HA looked like crap. But Anyways it should in theory be simple to convert the pressure washer over. I'll Let ya all know.

    THANKS RUSS!

  15. hey THANKS guys!

Russ Got another question from your post.

Instead of messing with the unloader and avoid having to change it all the time and check it, is it possible to run a smaller GPM (thanks Rod! -GPM not PSI) unloader on the machine so as to switch?

For everyone who is wondering why use a pressure washer to clean carpets here it is. http://www.carpet-cleaning-equipment.net/chemspec_truckmounts.shtml

It is basically a Pressure washer. The biggest reason we want to just set up a second unloader is because of what I said. Less changing knobs and checking pressures. It's allot easier to send an employee out and train them to switch a valve instead of adjusting an unloader.

    Let me know Russ

    I appreciate all the responses

  16. Hey Guys!

I got a Question For ya.

We are getting alot of opertunities for Carpet cleaning. Comercial Carpets to be exact. We want to do this with the equitment that we have.

We currently have a steel eagle vacume unit and a hydor-tech 4000 psi @5.5 gpm machines that we want to use for this.

We figure on running a double unloader with a ball valve of sort.

When we want 4000 psi run it to unloader #1 and when we want

1200-1000 psi run it to unloader # 2.

    What do you guys think?

    thanks

  17. I wish I could find someone that can do a good repair on hoses. I tried several people inmy area last year and all the connections did not last past the first cycle of the unloader and blew off.

Had to trash 200' of hose that was only 7 mos. old b'c the end at the connection rusted out!

I also tried using inline HP swivels, stainless, they leaked so bad i took them off the first day.

Not to try and plug for any certin company but we were having probblems with brand X inline swivels leaking and we recently baught some of the mosmatic (sp?) and by far they are the best we have used, THEY ACUALLY swivel underpressure and have not leaked once with hot water and 4000 psi. Best part is we can get em cheaper then the other brand
