The roof was degraded beyond cleaning. You can peel the shingles away with your hand, so I told him no thanks. It would have done more damage than good.

I would do a sample to see how long it would take you. Some ivy comes off easier than others. I was able to clean about 1700 sq. ft. of ivy covered brick in 2 hours. You won't know how long it will take until you try.

Good old hot water, and a 40 degree tip took care of it for me. It wasn't that difficult to remove, at about 1500 psi. 160 degrees.

Pressure washer from Home Depot
dk34 replied to dlamontm98's question in Residential Pressure Washing
For occasional use, a direct drive unit is fine. For a full time business, a belt driven unit is better for the wear and tear, which are NOT sold at THE Home Depot. -

How do you apply sealers and stains?
dk34 replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
It sounds like spraying is the best way to apply stain to the spindles. What are you doing to prevent overspray? Are you using airless sprayers or shur flo pumps? Thanks- 31 replies

I intend to go, as I attended the previous show in DC. It really doesn't benefit power washers in general, unless you are doing restoration type work. Any suppliers have comp tickets available? dj.kessler@verizon.net
