  1. That makes sence since alot of big flatwork jobs are in garages. I rent out 2 Hydro Tek trailers now 8 & 6 gpm hot units . That is why I am looking at a large cold water set up to run the flatwork machine. With an open trailer say 18 foot with 12000 # axles it could have 1000 gallons of water. The one problem with that heavy of a trailer is the tow vehicals hitch raiting. Most people could not haul it with the tanks full .

  2. D I tanks can be purchased from Culligan and it gives a spot free rinse . I used to use them to wash car lots that hardness of the water will determin how long they will last . Short story we went out to wash 3 lots I had a 24 foot frieghtliner with a 1000 gallon tank . We would use DI out of the 500 gallon tank rinse and not have to worry about water spotssince we worked at night early morning . A DI tank tips over the resin gets into the rinse and super spots them . We had to go back and re-wash 400 plus cars . The week before my guys pulled a hose over the hoods of a line of new cars .I quite washing cars that day !

  3. I have built trailers of both types the springs are the best as far as I am concerned. My reasons are that they sit higher so they do not drag going out of driveway . That alone makes them better and when upgraded to 10600# they can haul alot better . The trailers that I just found have 3/4 inch walls and floors and an extended tounge that is standard . You also might want to have them run eleric in the walls and mount a generator on the tounge.

  4. The machine is built not to break , I say this because as a propain unit it has to be un plumed then yuo can take off the control board. Now that you have it off you test the electronics and other stuff but you can not run it ? Because it is apart , so put it back together and test it . If you did not get it then you pull it apart and try again . They also have elecrical parts that you can get no where else , and they did not send them very quickly. The last on I worked on they had built for the customer and there was no ground run . On this type unit you need to ground it . It was also on an open trailer so the electrode where a mess . The unit was only 7 months old and already had issues . The customer service guy also told me that a 3/4 feed was all a 10 gpm machine needs I changed it to 1 inch. they also insisted that bypassing back to a 750 gallon tank was not a good idea ? It is a nice machine Johns is really nice but it is a pain to work on .

  5. If you are setting up a trailer with a round tank you should build a table over top of the tank . I do this all the time now and the walls should be at least 1/2 inch . Also coat the floor with a rino lining type material and paint the walls white . I also set them up with interior 120 volt lighting , run the stack straight out of the burner . I do not put anything down on paper because I have done so many of them . Include a vice on the work bench and if you do night work set it up so you can use just the side door . Noise issues. I like the Ringo Hill trailers they will run electric in the walls as the buil d it . Then you can mount your generator on the tounge of the trailer .

  6. I wish I had a picture of a mall that I stripped the portland cement off of that an employee ripped up . It was about 6 months old and the kid knew he was going to get fired . So he made artwork out the portland 13000 square feet of it . I had a business doing flatwork called Gumbusters and I got a call from Shannon Kozlanski that I had to see this mall . Well there were beautiful pictures of the female anattomy and lots of names . We had to laugh then made some $ fixing it . The reason was simple portland without the proper hardner strips right off so always do a wet test then let it dry to see what it looks like . Unless it is already worn down .

  7. Hoses that are rated at 3000 psi are tested at 3 times that pressure . If your hoses are used in truck , flatwork and industrial setting they do not last as long . I like the lightest hose since my elbows cannot take the extra wieght . I have found that Schieffler hoses seem to be holding up good . Also you need to find a local repair guy that is good or you will be repairing it again. If a hose breaks more than once throw it away it will cost more in downtime than it is worth .
