May be he shoud prove he can act first.

Guys, I wasn't advocating progressive taxation, and if you read my post I clearly state the type of tax I support. I was just explaining (maybe oversimplifying) the rationale behind it. If you don't like it, call your congressman (Democrat or Republican)! Don't complain to me! Now, as I said, let's get back to bashing Democrats and John Kerry (the Dem de jour)! We'll move on to Hillary when we run out of steam! Then maybe those no-good welfare cheats and illegal immigrants?

Here's a site you can use to see if lettering would look right on your vehicle. They do have sliders on the rear of some trucks (they did on mine) You can choose your particular vehilce, color of truck and color of vinyl, fonts, shadows, outlines, word shapes and more. Once you work with it for awhile, you can come up with some pretty good looking stuff. You can also upload your logo and incorporate it into the design as you wish. I ordered some custom stuff for my truck and it looked fantastic and arrived in a few days. And no, I don't have any affiliation with these folks. http://www.speedysigns.com/lettering/vehicle-lettering.htm I designed this to replace the 4x4 at the rear of my truck and reflect some changes under the hood. It looks great in the daylight.

Geez!!! Don't shoot the messenger! I was answering a question. Our income tax has always been a progressive tax Ryan. You can't blame only the Dems for that one. I'm sure you went to a school where they taught the rationalization behind it. Bottom line, 10% to a guy making $10,000 dollars a year takes food out of his mouth. 10% to a guy making $35,000 doesn't. I'm not arguing over this, but factually, individuals making over $200,000 (Adjusted Gross Income) are the most "wealthy," are they not? I don't understand your use of quotations there. It's just a simple definition, nothing implied at all. What's to get worked up about? I can tell you, a married couple in my neighborhood making $400,000 (AGI) would consider themselves pretty wealthy too! I don't have the time to go back and research the last century and see specifically who's responsible, but obviously both parties subscribe to this current system, since both have had control of our government at one time or another, and neither has done much to change it. Bush's tax breaks were only a couple percent in a few places too. No attempt to overhaul the tax code by any stretch of the imagination. Personally, I'm all for a more simplified plan. No deductions, no exclusions, just a flat tax. You could do your taxes on a postcard with a few blanks to fill in. After exempting, for example, the first $30,000 for everybody, it would go like this... How much did you make after the standard exemption?________ Multiply by x% ________ Total ________ Send a check for that amount. Of course, many lawyers and accountants would be in the unemployment lines as a result, and tax shelters would dissappear forever. Now, back to why Democrats (particularly John Kerry today) are all Evil!!!

Celeste, I was hoping to find someone to remove and replace my driveway and a back patio. Lots of cracks and spalling.

Off topic, but last I heard, the tax plan was to increase the marginal rate on those making over $200,000 annually back to 37.5% from the current 35%, as it was before the last round of tax cuts. Married couples could earn $400,000. Simple plan if that's all there is to it, a 2 1/2% increase to the wealthiest Americans is how the Dems see it. I have no defense of Kerry. His "apology" was laughable. I'm constantly amazed at alot of things that come out of the mouths of people in Washington on both sides of the aisle.

He does, but I know many of the same people. I've spent probably $4000-$5,000 (at least 5 guitars and three amps/heads) with him through the years anyway, so he knows me as a loyal customer. I think that often people think jobs like that will lead to more, but if the customer isn't a genuine advocate for you, nothing comes out of it for you anyway. And no job costs me nothing. I would have had probably $100 dollars out of pocket and 6 hours labor (which wouold have been spent somewhere making money).

I like the idea, but it's difficult to make it a win-win situation. I offered to barter with the owner of a local music store for a new amp head. My price was about $700 for the work, and he wanted to trade an amp head that I could buy on Ebay for around $375 new. His idea of win-win was that we could trade based on his suggested retail price. I offered to do the work for a slightly better amp, and he looked at me like I was crazy. Why would I do a $700 job for a $375 piece of equipment??? Having said that, I was hoping all summer to find someone who I could trade services with for some concrete work...maybe next year.

No doubt Jon, our pitchers really performed well. I've always heard that good pitching beats good hitting! And by the way...is that John Stamos on your avatar??? Who's next, Patrick Swayze??

Well, the story ended last night with the Card's as the World Champs!!! I can't believe it. Sorry to see it end that way for the Tigers though. They were a better team than what they showed over the last few nights. Jarrod, I know how you must feel. I watched the Packers lose a Super Bowl a few years ago, and I still believe that they were the better team, just not on that night.

I have to wonder though, how much time did he have invested there??? Any anal-retentive can produce results, it's just a matter of having the patience. I've quoted a couple decks where you could see that they actually started with their wimpy machine, and after awhile of getting nowhere, they called someone (me) who knew how to start and finish the job. -
torsion or leaf spring
Deck Guy replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Leaf springs all the way for all the reasons mentioned above. Torsion springs just don't offer any adjustability. -
I like fast loading as far as search engines go. As far as the voices on the website, same problem for some people who are on dial-up. I am concerned enough with just having too many pic's on the homepage.

I'm still thinking of going with Mozilla. I plan on trying it on my laptop first, since I don't share that computer with anyone else. My wife hates change, so she will take some time adjusting to IE 7, which I installed on Monday.

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Redneck?
Deck Guy replied to PressurePros's question in The Club House
I'm a Card's fan too though, so I'll concentrate on that for now! -
I love Google! I don't think the Bush hating shills have anything to do with this being downplayed at all. It's just a matter of looking at these numbers in context (as all numbers should be viewed). Using the Consumer Price Index as a measure of inflation, the Dow remains around 15 percent below the highs it reached in 2000, according to The New York Times. There are also several graphs and charts showing this on several sites, but I'm on dial-up this AM, so you're going to have to dig those up yourself. I'm happy it's going up, but I lost a buttload of money for not paying attention during the last major adjustment. I'm going to pay much closer attention this time around.

Clinton was obviously a great and much feared president, since there were no terrorist attacks on American soil during his presidency! In that regard, he had less attacks than Commisar Bush! Of course, I am happy with the Dow, since I do have a fair amount invested, but how does it really compare if we account for inflation? Any stock market gurus out there?

Just curious/ deck restore time
Deck Guy replied to Integrity Curb Appeal's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'm with Jarrod. With Ready Seal I can finish at least 350 sq. ft. including rails/spindles per hour working alone on most jobs. Lots of masking will reduce that though. My last job measured 1400 sq. ft. floor plus rails/benches, on two levels, and I spent a leisurely 5 hours finishing it with a pump-up. -
Sodium Percarbonate Mix
Deck Guy replied to GymRat's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I have had good results using it straight (from The Chemistry Store), only because I didn't think about adding the TSP. I'll bet it rocks with that addition. Just a reminder too...don't mix it in a closed or covered container! -

I guess I am wishy-washy, because now I'm a republican!!! Can I shoot myself now??:lgtear: -
Why you should do a test spot before bidding the job!
Deck Guy replied to seymore's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'm with you brother! Looks can be deceiving. No matter how much experience we get, there is no substitute for a small test spot when it comes to estimating the job. -

Deck Guy replied to Mathew Johnson's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I agree. I've done many-a-deck for homeowners who had a pressure washer in their garage, but couldn't produce the desired results with it. And I don't even have to explain how many decks I've done after the homeowner stained it. They usually give up after their first failed attempt (lap marks, drips, coating failure due to improper prep, etc...). -
You can even wear the suit when you're pressure washing...very smart indeed!
