  1. My solution has been simple,i just don't use heat on vinyl or house washings,no need for it.On driveways i place the hose neatly off the grass Johny
  2. Pressure washer from Home Depot

http://www.replacementpumps.com/wtrcn/page7.asp This would buy mine.I think i will get a spare sometimes Johny
  3. Now it definetly sounds like you let oxalic dry.Thats it's residue that is showing and will show throught the finish when it dries. But don't stress over it,its just a deck.If you show up too many times trying to fix a problem ,the owner will freak out, thinking its bad.Hot water with pump up wont do it.I remember reading a post long time ago on this issue, and man rented a hot powerwasher and it all come off easy,it was on powerwashnetwork.com,do a search and you will find it Johny
  4. That sounds like you let either bleach dry before neutralized or acid could have dried.I dont think its a big deal,if you reclean the floor it should come off.Bleach residue won't show through the finish, acid residue will and has to be cleaned. If its acid hot water will do the job.If you don't have a hot pw,you can rent one Johny
  5. Also you stated ,residue when it started to dry, have you looked at it when it's completely dry?? Johny
  6. Chalky residue, either you didn't neutralize properly and you are seeing white bleach residue,or you had your oxalic too strong or possibly let it dry,hot water takes care of that,8oz per gal is all you need Johny
  7. Also when i start powewashing the stripper off i wet the siding often jOHNY
  8. Hi ! I wouldnt tape anything.I would use hd-80 ,8z per gal, apply sligthly carefully with a garden sprayer.Wet down the siding before i start, right after it's applied, with a garden hose or pump up.Neutralizing,i would use citric and spray all over the place with x-jet,wouldn't hurt a thing. I did a deck like that this spring, wet the siding, apply stripper with x-jet,got it on the siding, and rinsed off after few minutes ,no problem at all. You are not gonna stripthat solid off in few minutes, you might clean it if got mold on it Johny
  9. Like i said i use citric ,no safety issues,no harm to property. No wasted chemical,i mix 20 oz per gal,2 -3 gallons brighten average size deck, could be much less,i just like to neutralize the heck out of it and make sure nothing is missed.5 Minutes or 30 make a big difference to me,i like to wash 2-3 houses a day and still have time for estimates Johny
  10. Guys Using x-jet has eliminated my need for buying pump up sprayers,i used to spend a fortune on those. #1 I only use citric, spray all over the place no problem #2 I use close range attachment,no overspray I can't see myself brightening with a pump up of shurflo As far as caustics i apply those too to the deck with a close range, learned it from Steven Rowlett, ask him Johny
  11. I had a slight problem this morning.I tried to strip a deck that had old, peeling Sikkens on it.I mixed 16 oz to a gallon, applied with pump up.It stripped ok but on the railings there still was some residue, thats after i applied it 3 times. Don't get me wrong it stripped it fine, looked 100 times better then what it did,but the owner is very picky and expects all of it to come off.I just did one section of railings and quit,i knew i won't be able to satisfy the man. Question #1 How strong can i mix this stuff to speed up the process. What happens if i mix lets say 1 lb to 1 gal, shouldnt it work better?? #2 Is it apropriate to go up on price if it takes 3-4 applications,i can't be there for the price of 1,i would rather walk.Have too much work lined up to spend all day strippind a little deck. This guy is gonna be a real pain anyway, thats why he can't find anyone else.If i don't do it,nobody else will Thanks Johny
  12. I stripped it today, worked fine, some residue on the railings, but after i finally set the right expectations and told the man i want to get pain regardless if all of it comes off,he was fine with the job. I think another application after wood dried would have removed it completely I am glad i asked about mixing,i always mixed some 12 oz per gal thinking its gonna work better Johny
  13. Using x-jet you can neutralize entire deck in 5 minutes or less, why not? Johny
  14. What chemical were you using? Thanks Johny
  15. I only use citric, always let it dry. That way it brightens better, since it is weak acid. Oxalic i would rinse for sure.Had a deck years back where i applied it too strong, didnt rinse good ,residue came through the stain Johny
