  1. Here is some before & after photos of a roof top deck I cleaned and stained recently. The owners wanted a pure White deck, there choice not mine. Cleaned and neutralised with Shuflo set-up, hand scrubbed to get it clean. Rised off using hose-pipe pressure. This was two floors up in central London, all gear had to go through the house (stairs, carpets etc) so no-way would the pressure washer work on this one. Stain is Cabots Solid. Three coats was needed to get it this White.
  2. The White Deck

Ken, I know what you mean, personally I don't like it very much, but the owners wanted it this White, tried to get them to go for a semi-trans but solid is what they wanted, to go with the Silver and Pink furniture, flower pots etc
  3. Another WTW Job

Great Job!! Nice really Nice Paul.
  4. Just finsihed my first deck strip of the season. About 560 sq ft. Used one of Shanes mix's (Many thanks Mate it worked Great), but had to strenghten it up a bit ie make it more caustic to remove the failing stain, home owners did not know what it was and it wouldn't move at first, but got the strenght right in the end. Used Citric to neuatralise. The deck will be sealed with Cabots Amberwood ATO, at the weekend if the weather stays good.I'll post finished photos when it's complete.
  5. Here are the finished photos. Sealed using Cabot's ATO Amberwood colour.
  6. Sealed Drive from the UK

Here is a part of a block paving wash & seal I did this week. 235 sq mts so around 2350 sq ft. I used Resiblocks new Natural Matt finish sealer. The photos are just part of the property, IE the drive, but patio and side paths were cleaned & sealed as well.
  7. Sealed Drive from the UK

Hi Cody, They can be worse then this, plus the English weather don't help, with the Moss, Algae etc. Chris I allow between 25-40 Sq Mts per 25kg bag of kiln dried sand on a re-sand after washing. The sealer is Resiblock it's a urethane based low viscosity prepolymer in Hydrocarbon solvents. Its function is to bond the jointing sand and seal the surface of concrete block paving. Its penetration comes about by solvent evaporation, and polymerisation is created by the atmospheric and residual moisture effecting the cure.
  8. The dangers of constant chemical inhalation.

Goggles, Mask, Nitrile gloves are a MUST HAVE don't take chances.
  9. Efflorescence problem

Hi Oddjobs, I had one not as bad as yours today over here, hit it with Hydrochloric Acid dwell for around 5 mins, then wash off, Efflo all gone. I have 33% neat so cut it to 17.5 % (50-50 with water). Hope this helps.
  10. Sealed Drive from the UK

Also cleaned a small area of Yorkstone at the same property. This came up really well.
  11. Todays nightmare

Here are a couple of before and washed photos from this mornings job. Why oh why do owners let their drives get this bad. I'll be back there in a couple of days to re-sand and try to sort out the drian problem, this is what we call over here a a soak-away, does not connect to the mains, so drains to earth, THREE times I cleared this one out but it is so bunged up, it just keeps backing up, and takes ages to drain away. And the owner did not want the garage doors washed either!!! As I was finishing the owners of next door house wanted a quote, which I did and hopefully they will go with the price, have work done, so that I can at least re-sand both in one go and not mess up todays job, and have to deal with that drain again!!!!. I'll post the finished result when I get this one finished.
  12. Todays nightmare

Thank you very much for the replies Cody. You are right on the colours, that patten is called Brindle over here. Mark. You are right, don't think it has ever been cleaned either, paving is about 7+ years old. Douseahouse. No it's not Buckingham Palace, still trying to get that one, but the Queen is not returning my calls to discuss prices for some reason? :winkanim:

  18. Ok being in the UK maybe slightly different, but I have run adds in Yellow pages & yell.com (which are still quite big over here) and to be honest a complete waste of time, sure got the calls "how much do you charge per sq metre etc" rival compaies checking me out? maybe, it just about broke even, my adds in US dollars cost around $2000.00 per year, did I renew this year? No way, Leaflets, local press and word of mouth are the best ways to go for me.
