Didn't somebody here say that they use a Deckster for cleaning roofs?
How does it work for that?
-
Why did he go with me over the other guys that are $25-50 less than me??
Did he get any other bids even??
There's a good chance that he was working you, trying to beat you out of 20 bucks so he could feel like he 'won'.
That kind of behavior contributes to the cynical old sales saw "How can you tell if a buyer is lying? His lips are moving."

Just another day. MY DAMN TIRE JUST FELL OFF can you believe it
Have you ever heard that comedian from Texas ranting about Sears and how his tire fell off? That would definitely make you feel better. A good laugh can cure a lot of things.

"Wow, look at all that brown sludge coming off of the roof. It must really be cleaning it!"HAHAHAHA I think Thad was being funny.....(but then again.LOL)
I tried, but wasn't very successful.

This accountant has been in business for over 30 years and his Dad was an IRS auditor. He knows all the ins and outs. He's very aggressive as far as write-offs, etc. but has never lost an audit.
He sets up the husband and wife as a corporation and they trademark the company name and lease that and *everything* else to the business. A lot of income is paid as royalties, truck leases, etc.
This year I should make enough money at this to make it worth my while to retain him.

doesn't there have to be x number of "board meetings" per year and all this bologna.I'm going to talk to the accountant that the guy I sub most of my work from uses. The accountant told him to have his board meetings (he and his wife are the officers) wherever they were going on vacation that year. ;)

i dont like it for roofs i use sodium hypoclorite 12.5% ,the sodium hydroxide seems to pull the tar from the asphalt shingles ,when you rinse it you will see what i mean"Wow, look at all that brown sludge coming off of the roof. It must really be cleaning it!"

If it's the stuff I'm thinking about it's just Sodium Hydroxide.
I'm not 100% so anyone feel free to correct me.

I use it every night to clean kitchen hoods. It cuts the grease like nothing else. Just don't get it on you...burns like a sucker.I have a scarred over hole in the top of my right foot the size of a 50 cent piece.
When I worked for a restaurant supply company a bottle of concentrated liquid Sodium Hydroxide fell out of my van and broke and a drop splattered and landed on my sock. The weird thing is that it *didn't* hurt. It itched a little, but I assumed that it was the poison ivy I had on my leg bothering me.
When I got home that night and got in the shower, "Big surprise! You have a hole in your foot!"

It turned the skin to leather and took out quite a divot.

I pumped for a long time, then made my own shurflo cart setup.I saw a homemade cart setup for cleaning roofs somewhere. It was a dolly with a battery, pump, and a 15 gallon tank.
Was that yours?

It has a blank for an Exhibitor Authorization.
Who fills that in?
I wouldn't want to drive all the way there and get chased out.

I use a 20" Whirlaway with a "little" (to you guys, anyway :)) 4GPM machine for residential and it works great. I rented a 24" Steel Eagle for one job and had to move painfully slow to clean with it. Striping was a big problem.
I can clean at a comfortable pace with the Whirlaway without lines and stripes and I feel that it's easier to maneuver in tight places.

Ditto on the 'Search' thing.
The depth of information available here using the 'Search' function is amazing and the people here seem very friendly and helpful.

I have done a little more extensive market research and have found that I have about 12- 3 and 4 story buildings in about a 50 mile radius. I have also found that the closet companys are 100 miles away.
Hi all. I've been lurking and I guess it's time to chime in.
Greg, for buildings up to 4 stories I would recommend a water-fed pole and DI setup. It's a lot cheaper and faster.
Your neck and shoulders will cry for mercy but you'll never leave the ground.

I'm not a woodie but I am a guitar player.
Looking at it from a musician's perspective, things have gotten really confusing. Gone are the days when mahogany was mahogany.
Every cheap importer (and some of the big US name brands) has a different name for cheap plentiful wood that you never heard of. Nato and agathis are somehow now "Eastern Mahogany" and "Commercial Grade Mahogany".
