  1. Oh, I believe this stuff with Israel and Hezbollah is certainly part of something, but I don't think it's what you think it is...

" Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Zec 12:2- 3

    Amen.

  2. Well im happy for you.I will pass that on to my friend who's son was d and molested buy a priest calling himself a man of GOD..I am sure there is a God but it's everyone's interpitation of God that is the problem..I am done with this topic....
You're equating a Catholic Priest and what he did to a child with what I said?...... Get some sleep.

  3. Thanks for the info. I cut mine about 5-1. Straight on just a wet gutter may be a bit risky especially on older paint imo. I used to spray the brush with butyls but for me working out of a 5 gallon bucket is easier and faster. The solution does'nt weaken from re-dipping the brush with f13.

  4. A watchout is the difference in concrete psi strength between commercial (at 4000psi) and residential (at about 2000psi). High pressure can remove the cream (top) of the concrete, exposing more aggregate (damaging the surface).

I increased the angle to 45 degrees and had to reduce the nozzle orifice to produce under 1000psi in order to keep from causing damage. It seemed as though every residential driveway/walkway was different (some would hold up under 1500 psi water pressure, while others would not).

For residential we also throw down some pool shock diluted with water to help in cleaning algea, mold and mildew as well as to brighten the concrete.

You can also brighten with oxalic acid but it will not kill mold, mildew or algea.

Best wishes on your new venture!

I've read a lot of your posts and respect your knowledge on a variety of subjects but I totally disagree with your take on residential concrete and safe psi. I use 3000 psi regularly. Much less and the surface would not be clean and I do pre-treat with chemicals in most cases. On occasion there are sensitive pours but I can usually spot those and clean accordingly (lower psi).

  5. Tom,

I believe one of the main uses is to remove rust on concrete. I know it can also be used to brighten concrete, but I don't believe you would want to use it on an entire driveway, it would be much to costly. If you search for Jeff LeCour's post on oxalic, he usually recommends mixing 4lbs. to a 5 gallon bucket of warm water and then using it in a pump up sprayer. I also know that it's used in decks, but I'm not a deck guy, I'll leave that part to a deck person to answer. Hope that helps.

Actually, you would use it on the entire surface otherwise the "spots" you treat will be brighter then the rest. And 4 lbs per 5 gallon is for use with an x-jet. 2 or 2 and 1/2 lbs per 5 when using with a pump-up. It is also used to brighten wood and to neutralize alkaline detergents used to clean the wood.

  6. Down Streamer here with a 0030 tip. My Injector is adjustable and wide open I get 3:1. Use 16% SHC with a little Tide. Faster than ANYONE in my area using an x-jet.

I'm not sure when the last time I used my X-jet was. I guess my biggest beef with the x-jet is that it is pretty much the same amout of metal/ manufacture time to make as is a downstreamer yet costs 10 times more. Just shows me that there is a huge mark up and some one raking it in by marketing it as a miracle tool. Not much I can't do with my downstreamer and roof guys will tell you that there are a hundred ways to get chem on a surface.

3:1? How did you determine that?

  7. It seems as though I read more and more of people going from x-jetting to downstreaming. Why would that be so? Is it just to keep from toting the chems? Would you not have a lot of wand and hose issues with all of the 12%?

    Scott

You mean from 12% going through the hose and gun right? I've been downstreaming a long time and my hoses and guns last. As soon as you start rinsing, the hose and gun are being rinsed as well. I'm sure the metal components are affected somewhat but it is miniscule and a much better trade off then lugging buckets.
