The Marine Base where I live just laid off 400+ people that were hired as part of the "Obama Wreckovery" plan...
People are hurting out there. It's sad.
-
Dan, evidently you and I read different articles, because the jobs saved figure was proven to be absolute fraud, just like global warming and every other liberal brain fart out there.
-
Dan.. you don't HAVE to visit all of them :)
There are different flavas on the different boards, but I've learned to not spend so much time on them or it's easy to just get sucked into the drama.
TGS was my first, so it has a special place in my heart.

Happy Thanksgiving, turkeys. :)
Hope you guys have a good one.

Here is the solution:

cool brutha, hope it helps. Oh yeah, forgot to say on the video but make sure you don't have the same keyword phrase on every forum. For instance: put "Roof Cleaning In Panellis Co" then "Need My Roof Cleaned", on ***, then "What are those black streaks" on another forum, etc...
Makes sense?

I'm sending you some hate mail right now, Adrian. :)
I this video for some guys on the *** forum, but the benefits are still the same for this forum.

Running that much hose I would have probably went with the 2-3 gpm injector especially with a 4 gpm machine. I have a 5.5 machine and run the 2-3 injector. Have for right about a year now.
-
Yup, I agree with Alexy; go used! No use in spending a ton of money on something that is going to get so little use. With contractors folding left and right you can find some good deals on ebay and craigslist. I would look for something in the 5.5 gpm @ 3000 psi range for commercial work.

It's a good thing you stepped down dude, because I was going to call for an impeachment!!!
Wait, what are we talking about again? Oh look, a chicken.
I think everybody is a little "uptight" lately and taking things wayyyy too personally. It's on all boards too. Drama where there doesn't need to be any. You flatworkers' season is coming up (if it hasn't started already) and you guys just need to get back to work and you'll be happier again.
Don't step down, Scott, I think you are a good moderator and sometimes you level things out. When everybody gets busy again and we all start getting along (besides all the other greasers and Ed :D just kidding Ed) you'll wish you hadn't stepped down. If I were Beth, I wouldn't accept your resignation.

Rog... I do believe that I have learned a bunch from you already, any further pointers would be redundant. :)
Chris... My posts have offended you before? I don't ever remember you being mad at me for anything...
-
I frankly don't want to apologize to anyone. I have typed some things that may have been read wrong by people and I didn't intend for that to happen, but I think they should apologize to me for reading my posts wrong :D
I like TGS, it's the first pressure washing forum that I ever visited. I can't believe that I haven't been kicked off of here yet.

Over the years the members and staff here on TGS have worked very hard to maintain these forums and to keep them as professional as possible. The Grime Scene was designed to be a tool, an archive, an online research repository, a networking venue, and a place to come together as professionals to help one another in the spirit of goodwill and growth. To this end we have accomplished much. The forums have grown, we have added new areas, we have added new features, all of our members who have come and gone over the years have shared and learned along side one another in the positive and professional spirit of cooperative learning and growth. These forums have been crawled by many search engines and will continue to rank well as they have for some time. Many contractors on here have gotten work from lurkers who are looking for a company to service their property.Rod and I have been to many round tables and have been blown away by people who come up to us and thank us for having TGS, they tell us stories about how it has helped and in some cases made a significant difference in their business. Our response is always the same, we thank each and every one of them for the valuable contributions they share online, for it is the members and their acts of professionalism and kindness, of brotherhood and generosity that have made the forums successful, it's not one person, but all of us.
It is for this reason that I feel so very very deeply and strongly about being a BBS that is tough and takes a stand on rule breaking, on bashing, and on unprofessional behavior. It makes every single one of us look bad when a thread goes south and gets ugly. It reflects poorly and is disrespectful not only to the person being slighted, but to all of us that read it, to the visitors and lurkers who may be reading, afraid to post for fear of ridicule or retribution, to the TGS Staff who spend time back and forth voluntarily in PM's, on phone calls, in emails, taking the heat and sniping remarks on the chin when the offender turns away from their victim and turn the venom on them instead.
We are all busy people. The economy is down. We should all be spending more time looking for work or working or helping one another and less time spewing negativity and bile and distaste. And it is in this spirit and for this reason that I want to remind you all to use the report post button, and for the moderators to use infractions. The leash is at an end. TGS Staff and professional rule abiding members are in charge of this BBS, and the rule breakers will be banned for unprofessional conduct.
Thank you.
Beth

I'll wait until I'm 40 before I start getting them regularly. Besides, The doctor told me last year when I had pneumonia that when I come back he was going to have to check my prostate now that I'm over 30. I just didn't feel right about taking the exam back behind the building...I thought something was fishy with that whole thing...

I drive a Ford van now, would prefer a Ford pick-up. I am a buy American kind of guy, whenever possible. Would'nt be oppose to a Chevy or a Dodge.I prefer to by "Made in America" also, that's why I drive a Nissan Titan. Dodge is made in Canada, Chebby and Ferd in Mexico...

Yeah, he even used one of those free website builders... He also just gave away to "another guy" a HUGE account and asked for nothing from it.
-
You can't just make up a site, throw it up onto the internet and wait by the phone for customers to call,That's exactly what I do... :D seriously.
-
I used the phone book just the other day. I couldn't find an account (that found me on the internet) that I was bidding on the internet so I looked in the phone book to get their correct address. It felt like I was going back to High School, the good ol days.
Even if you don't get a website (which is silly in my opinion) make a video and put it on Youtube. You will get business from that.
-
Yeah, but they would figure out I wasn't when they saw that I wasn't sporting the big gay porn star mustache :D
Just kidding all you firemen out there.. My FIL retired Fire Cheif, I'm allowed to talk crap about you
-
I had a red light mounted behind my grill on my hunting truck...big no, no, but you couldn't see it unless I turned it on and I never did that unless I was hunting out in the middle of nowhere at night off of the road.
-
Hey Craig, how are you bro? Good to see you on here again.

Jon... I think it comes down to good ol' fashion CLOSING when the prices are so similar like that.
If a customer were to tell me that, I would say something like "$5? Let's see, this sealer will last you for 5+ years (I'm guessing), so now that you have gotten other quotes like a responsible homeowner, which day works better for you, Tuesday, or Thursday?
If they balk at that, then say...
That's good that you want to think about it, Mr. Jones, because we are really busy and can't get here until next week so why don't we put you down for Thursday and if anything comes up, give me a call and we'll reschedule".
Then, send Thank you cards, coupons, etc... every couple of days reminding them why they went with the best! ;)
