    Yeah, Ayers may have been having a mid-life crisis wishing he had done more when he was younger, don't we all?...not that what he did was acceptable but name a person who did anything acceptable as a rebellious young adult angry at the machine. He has his ideas as do we all, and we may not agree with them but I certainly don't think he is worth the worry since he chooses not to act on them and instead became a professor.

    It's thinking like this that makes me think you need to have your head examined. Am I reading this wrong or are you saying that bombing gov't buildings and killing police officers is just a little rebellious? Being rebellious and demostrating or something like that is one thing, bombing and killing is another. The man should be brought to justice (like a firing squad).

    And the morons who let this guy become a professor should be tried as traitors to our country. Ayers is not sorry for what he did and he's out there teaching young adults in a university??? WTF???

    Man, this burns me up. I usually don't get upset by these political threads because they are all in fun and don't mean anything anyway, but when I hear somebody like you, Rod say that poor little Ayers was just going through a rebellious time when he bombed those buildings and killed 3 police officers..no big deal... It makes me freakin SICK...AND PISSED!!! I can't believe there are people out there like you. You should be ashamed of yourself and you should do some soul searching and see where your loyalties lie? If you don't like this country, then get the hell out!

    If you want to talk experience, let's talk Obama. In this race, any talk of experience is a non issue, as long as Obama's experience is not included. And Change??

    Nobama himself said that he wasn't ready 4 years ago, but evidently half way through a senate term gets you ready :rolleyes:

    General Colin Powell (race aside people) is a fair minded leader who says he likes Obama better for many reasons. Likewise Adelman who has been serving Republican presidents for many years - like decades - is putting his vote in for Obama. These are very serious statements people. There was an article yesterday that said there are 70 SEVENTY countries backing Obama, that's almost 4 to 1 in favor of Obama.

    General Powell has been saying for months that it would be great to have a black president. He is backing Nobama for one reason and one reason only. It's as simple as that.

    Adelman has been duped by Nobama's smooth talking and style. He has a chip on his shoulder and this is the reason that he is backing Nobama.

    The fact that France backs Nobama something like 70:1 is a sure sign that we need to vote against Nobama. I saw that news story too, but I can't find it now. Who cares what the rest of the world thinks anyway? You're telling me that we should base ANYTHING we do on what the rest of the world thinks? I say just the opposite. Socialist countries that are jealous and hate America should have no voice in our policies.

    I don't deny that Nobama is an intelligent person. He is. But it takes more than that to be a good president. Judgment, character, integrity, morals...things like this are just as important. If intelligence was all it took then police deptartments would just recruit the "smart" people...but since police recruiters are smart people themselves, they know that to even be a police officer it takes more than just "smarts".

    Nobama has proven over and over that his judgment isn't very good. Sitting on a board with a known terrorist. Poor judgment. Being involved with ACORN, an organization being sued my many states for registering people to vote illegaly. Poor judgment, lack of integrity.

    The list goes on and on. Nobama would have a hard time becoming a police officer, how much more does he lack the qualifications needed to run this country?

    HOLY CRAP!!! then 5 minutes into the video he says that Obama's link to a known terrorist (Bill Ayers) is a trivial issue.... Mr. Powell, sir, you are a ***********!!!

    Bill Ayers blew up govn't buildings, killed police officers and it's trivial....what a POS!

    Also, I love how Powell contradicts himself. He says we need a new set of eyes...and McCain would just support the republican agenda...then about 3 minutes into the video he says how wonderful it's working.

    I'm beginning to think that he's supporting him just because he's black.... His logic sure doesn't make any sense.

    What if they were married, but no buttsecs allowed? Is it just the *** that is bad? What if that was taken out of the equation, just a hypothetical question.

    I thought secs was needed to consummate (or finalize) the marriage? Kinda like getting a check for insurance. You can fill out all the paperwork you want, but until that money is in hand, it means nothing. So, you can say "I do" all you want, but until ....well, you know what happens after that.... it doesn't mean anything. Am I wrong?

    If I can't look at a picture with my wife and 10 year old daughter in the room, let alone my sons, it isn't appropriate.

    Well our kids are going to be taught all about these kinds of pictures in school if we don't vote down legislation that promotes this filth.

    I'm saying exactly what I said. :)

    There are decades of tests available for you to do research if you like. It's proven that children do best when they are raised by their biological mother and father. For example, studies show that fatherless children suffer from higher incidents of mental illness, educational failure, substance abuse, criminal behavior, sexual abuse, and other problems.

    Just because YOU have seen something different, doesn't change the years and years of tests that prove otherwise. Nobody is saying we should ship gays off to some island, well, at least I'm not saying that. I'm saying that gays are not qualified to have the honor of being married because of their choice of lifestyle. It's bad for children and bad for society to support such a harmful culture.

    You do realize, of course, that Liberals were the ones that fought tooth and nail against civil rights, don't you? Maybe you remember that it was a liberal that enabled the policies of the great depression and then successfully tacked it onto Hoover, a mere year and 9 months after he was in office? (remember that economic policies have always taken a year or two to trickle down) That Liberals are the ones that did not want to defend us against the attack from Japan, but, would rather talk as the bombs were dropping? Or were also the ones that got us into Korea, and ramped up Vietnam? They also are the ones that let the original bombing at the world trade center slide? Or that it was a liberal that had hostages held in a third rate country for over a year? Maybe you might remember that it was a liberal that had our interest rates at 21% with unemployment at over 10%, a mere 28 years ago? Maybe you might remember that it was a liberal that also dismantled our on the ground intel forces in favor of satellites and wire taps, (which by the way, the Liberals will no longer allow) Maybe you recall that a liberal was the grand dragon of his local KKK? Perhaps you did not know that per capita, conservatives contribute more of their personal funds to charities than liberals, by a wide margin? Maybe you also did not realize, that the evil rich in congress, the wealthiest of the wealthy, are mostly Liberal? Or that a liberal was in charge when the lending restrictions were lifted that put us in our current mess?

    All that being said, There is a place in government for both parties. That is another part of the checks and balances that are so predominant in politics. The problem comes when one party, or the other, refuses to mediate, and take an unworkable idea and make it workable.

    So all that being said - it's as simple as this - if you don't like gays - don't let them get 'married' in your church or temple. Don't let it be recognized under 'your' faith or your God/Gods

    Here's what happens in that instance. The gay couple that wants to get married at so and so church is denied. They sue the church for discrimination. Eventually it will come to a preacher being charged for "hate speech" when he tells a homosexual couple that they are sinning and it is an abomination to God. We're not far from there.

    Another comment I want to add. "if you don't like gays" That is not the issue at all. As Christians we are told to love our neighbors, period. It's not that we don't "like gays". People that do harm to others, for whatever reason, under the name of religion are WRONG. They are not following the teachings of the Bible if they do this. However, we still don't condone sin. Homosexuality is sin. We don't support their lifestyle by awarding them a benefit (marriage) ordained by God when they are not qualified for this title. It's as simple as that.

    Come people who realy cares if they get marrie or not marriege is joke in this country anyway devorce rates are higher in this country then any other country. Gays are humans wanting the same rights to be married as everyone else but you can not see that church has brain washed you thinking that it is wrong hate to tell you that gays were around long time. Have you read marriege licesence does not say man and women on it it is simple contract. If the christains want there marriege back so bad take away from goverment

    I care! Blind people may want to drive, but guess what, they can't. People under the age of 21 can't drink alcohol. People under the age of 18 can't vote (unless Nobama's pet project, ACORN registers you). I'm with Russ...they can choose to be with whomever they like, nobody is stopping them, but they are not qualified to be married. Marriage is between a man and a woman.

    Another thing that burns me up about it is the fact that they are so selfish that they couldn't care less how they hurt the children involved. Studies have proven over and over again that kids do much better with a FATHER and a MOTHER in the house.

    The fact that not every opposite-secks couple will have children doesn’t change anything. Marriage creates, by design, the environment in which children will grow up. We shouldn’t intentionally create a parenting model that is inadequate to raise healthy children. But that’s what happens when we endorse same-secks marriage.

    Marriage and family construct culture. As the building blocks of civilization, families are logically prior to society as the parts are prior to the whole. Bricks aren’t the result of the building because the building is made up of bricks. You must have the first before you can get the second.

    That’s why government protects and privileges opposite-secks marriages and families. They provide tax incentives, inheritance rights, and other advantages to protect families that produce the next generation and create civilization itself. No society, in all of human history, has ever granted these privileges and protections to same-secks couples. Doing so is a social experiment that uses children as guinea pigs.

    I always wondered why God had to put things like Lev 20:15 in the Bible... "And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast." But when perversion is rampant like it is nowadays, I see the reason.

    Important stuff coming up in the election. We have a proposition here in Cali that defines "Marriage between a man and a woman"; It's proposition 8 which I will be voting YES to.

    61% of California's voted said YES to these exact words on a measure a couple years ago, but 4 San Fransisco judges decided that we were all wrong and overturned it. This time it will be put into our constitution here and they can't overturn it.

    Vote "YES" on prop 8 if you are in California. Check your state and see if there is a similar measure. Let's restore and protect Marriage once and for all.
