  1. Motorola Razr

The Razr is great. I've ad it for about six months and it still works good, which is saying a lot because that's about how long they last for me. I got it because it was free (I switched from nextel to cell. one) I have statewide unlimited for $50.00. Their unlimited national plan is only 100.00 Or you can add the surronding states for 5.00. No, I don't sell these phones, just like the service compared to paying 200.00 a month for nextel unlimited. i have dropped the phone ohhhhh 10 or 20 times and it has got wet at least once a week. Works great for me. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  2. I can't reach!

Hey Travis, Go to Home Depot and buy some ladder levelers. They attach on the sides of your extension ladder and extend up or down and they are very sturdy. I have them on a 32ft. er The one I used to use when I was washing houses without SH You could almost set your ladder on a cliff and feel safe with them (just kidding, but one leg will extend almost 2 ft. past the other one. I believe they are around 80.00 for the pair. Are you using Ready Seal (I don't see how with all the wet weather) Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  3. Where to find a Decker?

Hey Travis, Did you have very much overspray with the decker. I am wondering how much overspray they create compared to an airless sprayer. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  4. Applying ReadySeal?

Sorry that I have not touched base with you Travis, I have been busy doing houses and driveway's. I have did about 12 houses and 4 driveway clean and seal jobs since last week (three aggregate and one paver) keep in touch though. How far are you from Elizabethtown anyway. Yea, they are expensive also. A local PW shop has one for 700 - 800 dollars. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Wasshing 270-268-1694
  6. just bought switchback XT

How many bowhunter's are there out there? I just bought the new Switchback XT by Mathews and cant say enough about it. It's the best shooting bow that I have ever shot. Deer season is right around the corner, I cant wait to get in the woods. It starts early this year. Sept. 2 I'll probably start going around the middle of the month. 7. just bought switchback XT

The reason I wanted to start hunting with a bow is that it will be more challenging. Last year, I came in from the field after not seeing anything that morning and got some lunch. I walked out of the house after lunch with my gun still on my shoulder and happended to glance over in the field. I saw a little six pointer about a 125 yds. away, drew down on him, and you know the rest, right off the back porch. Then a couple of weeks later, I was sitting in the back room of my house with the window open. I shot a doe about 200 yds. away. I know you guys are laughing by now, but seriously all is true. My buddy jokes with me about that one a lot. If you live in Kentucky, than yu know what I mean. It's really not that easy all the time and I'm glad it's not. I guess the Lord just put them there that day. Doug Baker Baker's Pressire Washing 270-268-1694

Talking about 3-D shoots, Bass Pro is holding their Redhead World Qualifier at the Clarksville store Sept. 1-3 I thought about going just for fun, but don't care to embaress myself either. They are having their fall hunting classic sale starting the 26th with a lot of speakers, activities, and good deals. How far are you from Clarksville. 9. just bought switchback XT

Mcmoo, My cousin lives in Bowling Green and hunts every year, But I have not hunted that area. I hear you about fishing, I may have been once this year, but you can't keep me out of deer hunting. traveling to Florida in May for a couple days of fishing (a red snapper tournament a friend's uncle or something goes to every year). By the way, I have a Switchback right handed on ebay now, and also a left handed Parker Phoenix 34. I bought the switchback for a buddy and he never paid for it. 10. mineral spirits on asphalt

Does anyone know what it takes to get mineral spirits out of blacktop. We were staining a deck today and I told an employee to go to the end of the drive to soak a few rags in mineral spirits. Well, he soaked the rags good and the asphalt at the end of her driveway too. It looks like a big oil spot. Lady is off her rocker. Says she won't pay for the deck until the spot goes away. I understand we made a mistake and I offered compensation and she didn't want to hear it, "no money until the spot is removed" I am going to try to get the spot off, I have tried my heated unit and it didn't budge. I don't think she even owns the property, it is on the road at the end of her drive (none on her driveway) in a neighborhood. I may have to take her to court to get paid, but I hope not. I was as nice to her as anyone could be, I think she is trying to get a freebie. Do some of you gus have suggestions, it sure would be appreciated. I do have pictures of before and after on the deck and there can be no complaints. I also have a signed contract. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  11. mineral spirits on asphalt

I told you guys that I would keep you up to date. I was pretty aggravated about it and then I calmed down, prayed, and told the Lord I would leave it in his hands and whatever happens it would be alright. Well, the Lord doesn't let me down, I went by today to try the spot again. I let it soak in tide w/bleach for two days and today I hit it with some heat. It helped out quite a bit, seemed like it loosened the spirits up. Walked up to the door and the customer walked out with the checkbook and asked how much he owed. I knocked 50.00 off the bill for our mistake. Thank the Lord it worked out. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  12. mineral spirits on asphalt

They say they will pay as long as I make a good effort to try and get the spot up. i don't have any money so I'm not counting on it yet. Actually, I do have the money for stain and deposit. Good thing I had them pay for stain and 25% labor up front. The balance is still almost 1000.00 though. I am going to try a few things and if they stil don't pay than I will have no choice, but to pursue in court. I will keep you guys posted. Doug Bker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  13. mineral spirits on asphalt

Beth, I belive in great customer cervice like you. I just don't know what to do. I don't believe the spot can be cleaned. She does not want it resurfaced because I offered that and she said no. I even offered compensation for the spot. It's not even in her drive guys, it's out in the public street. I am going to try a few things to clean it. Hopefully it works out. Beth, I belive I have lost this reference and I hate that, but I don't know how to please her. Bottom line: She wants the place back exactly how it was. I can't resurface it because the asphalt is old the new sealer would shine worse than the spot. I don't think it can be removed. What other options do I have? 14. mineral spirits on asphalt

thanks guys, I won't be able to blend and she does not want it covered. Here is how she acted. She said, "I moved here less than a year ago and it was perfect. The deck looks great, but that spot in the road ruined it all". Then she started crying and shaking like she was having a seizure. I have never saw anyone act like that before. The spot is on the road is about 50 Yds. from her house and you can't tell unless someone shows you it's there. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  15. Just wondering what some of you guys use to back brush stains. I use the shur line deck pads from Home Depot, but would rather use something else because they don't last very long and the little fir like stuff falls off and leaves little pieces all over the wood. Thanks! Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  16. wood tux tinting

Don, I'm thinking the tint kit was 40.00 for the black and red tint. Like I said it takes some experience with the product, but the finished product is worth it. Can't really tell you about remixing because I have only custom tinted on one deck so far with it and I mixed a gallon more than I thought I needed so I would'nt run into that problem. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  17. wood tux tinting

Don, I recently started using WTW about two months ago. I asked the same question about where to get the tint locally on this site and never got an answer. I did have to buy a tint kit from ESI, they do carry them, buy one now before you need it so you can have it on hand. WTW sprays fine right out of the can. I have not diluted it with mineral spirits or water yet, but know of many who do. If you have used Ready Seal it is definetly not the same. Takes some getting used to and you will want to backbrush for sure. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  18. backbrushing pads

Shane, I do use one on decks under 1000 sq., but usually two on anything bigger than this. They don't wear out totally (the little fir just falls off and makes a mess on the deck) I don't try to clean them after the jobs over, they are too inexpensive to clean. (3.00 with tax) Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  19. backbrushing pads

That is the same pads I use Rod. I seem to go through a couple staining a good size deck. Yes the little fibers do come off later, but was just wondering if they're was anything better out there I have not tried. I may try Shane's pads to see if they are beter. 20. I have a customer that have a 1200Sq. Ft. deck that's not new by any means. The deck is old and moldy. I quoted a price for cleaning, sealing, replacing a few boards, and tearing down 100 linear ft. of old rail and putting new up. He accepted, but problem is that he wants to seal the whole thing once I'm done putting up new rails. The old part needs seal as soon as possible. I am going to apply Ready Seal Natural Cedar. Maybe WTW. What is the minimum amount of age time for the new wood before I can seal with anyone of these sealer's. Like I said he does'nt want to wait. Thanks Guys!!! 21. how long do I have to wait

I realy do appreciate everyone's professional opinions and options to handle this job. I should have asked more in depth, but I was thinking the wood had to season for at least a few months. Pierce called from Ready Seal and helped me out with this. I have yet to stain one brand new. The customer knows there is going to be a contrast. I was going to wash the new wood with the old when everything is built. I realized it would help to wash it, but I was up in the air about what to use on it. After reading your replies I believe I will use Hd-80 and citralic afterwards. I will probably use a mix of HD-80 at 3oz. to gallon let dwell for 10 minutes and wash. I may use EFC-38 full strength mixed with 2 oz. of Hd-80 on the whole deck instead. How do these mixes sound? One more question, would the WTW or the Ready Seal do better at helping hide the contrast? I have WTW and Ready Seal Natural Cedar. If I use Ready Seal, this will be the first time. I bought it while waiting on 30 gallon of WTW that took a long time to get here so I would have a back up. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  22. masonry damage

I just landed a nice sized housewash in a very wealthy neighborhood. Vinyl and brick (has a brick chimney also) Lady called today, some friends told her that a pressure washer will destroy her brick, mortor will fall out, and bricks fall off the house. I explained to her that I use under 1000 P.S.I. (low pressure) and let the chemicals do the work for me. She wants to taslk about it more on Monday when I come by. Can anyone help me out with explaining procedure or technique ( maybe links to washing instructions or something) How do you guys wash brick. The brick has a lot of mold and algae build up. I was going to use 12.5% with some citracleen and surfactant. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  23. masonry damage

Thanks for the help guys, I have books full of recommendations, but no pictures of brick. I don't do a lot. This house is extremely moldy because it's set back in the woods. I have washed brick many times, mold around downspouts, at the base of the house, cut in basement behind house, or where there is no sunshine, but this house has it all over. I use a strong mix of 12% (4 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket with my other ingredients downstreamed at 20%). I will probably explain to her that if a washer is used incorrectly than it will cut right through the brick, but in the hands of a skilled person with the right knowledge and the right chemicals the brick will turn out great with no damage. I was just wondering if there is any internet material advocating the use of pressure washer on brick. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694

  25. concrete cleaner

I am trying to find a good concrete cleaner for gas station islands and dumpster areas. I do a few of these on a regular basis and I've ben using only hot water on them lately. It works just as good as the cleaners I have tried. I have tried quite a few products, but I don't know if I can state my opinion so I won't name the manufacturer's or their cleaners because I will have to bash them if I do. False claims and so on....... Does anyone know of a proven product that will work good on islands and dumpster areas. thanks for the help!!! Doug Baker Baker's Pressuure Washing 270-268-1694
