  1. concrete cleaner

I have read on the forum that guys have tried this and it seems to work pretty good. Degrease and brighten! I have yet to try it though. I have recently tried strong hood cleaner on dumpster areas with pretty good success. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  2. If you have more than 40 types of chemicals and/or products in your garage than you might be..... oops wrong thread!!! Try ebay for your fittings. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  3. Awesome!!

I'm sure a new surfacer would make a big difference, but I have been quite efficient with my wand (although arms get pretty tired, but I'm a thin guy and could use the extra muscle) I'm sure I will invest in one soon. I knocked out a 2,400 sq. two story home today with sidewalks and average size drive today that was black as tar in a little over two hours with just the old trusty wand. I might have cut 20 minutes off if I had a surfacer. Would really help with commercial flatwork though. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  4. Awesome!!

Anthony, I have only used one which was a hydrotek (hydro twister, about 8 years old) 8 years old! Probably why it didn't do that great of a job. Used it on driveway's that were black with mold and algae. Had to go back over it with wand. Have been thinking about buying one, always something else to spend money on though. 5. concrete cleaner

Anthony, Kinda gave up for now! tired of spending time and money on samples that don't work. I am probably going to try one more thing and that is mixing raw sodium hydroxide beads with 12.5% I can get the sodium hydroxide for 54 cents a pound. Has anyone tried this? Are you certified in hood cleaning? What type of certification is best for the price? I just got a quarterly contract and would like to get certified, but don't know where to put my money. What is the price for your insurance for the year for hood cleaning? Does your coverage cost more than 1500.00 a year? I would like to venture more into this type of service. Sorry for all the questions, but would like to learn a lot more about this type of service. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  6. What forms to be legal?

You may have to change name slightly, I really don't know. All I did was walk in, told them my business name, signed a piece of paper, gave them 25.00 bucks, they gave me a tempoary license, I walked out, and a week later got the real thing in the mail. All you need to set up a business bank account here is take that license and proof of insurance to bank and your done. See if they have a Kentucky Home Bank in Ashland, Their business accounts are free. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  7. What forms to be legal?

Anthony, Not like California. All you have to do is go to city hall and pay 25.00 for business license for that city and your done. What part of Kentucky is he moving to? Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  8. Need help with opinions on trigger guns, I would like to find a comfortable trigger gun. I have tried a few and have not found one that I really think is very comfortable. I have tried the suttner easy pull, St1500, and a few other no-name ones. Can anyone refer a good one? Thanks!!! Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  9. the most comfortable trigger gun

It doesn't get hard to hold, it just starts to hurt my hand. They are not very ergonomic. I have the K7 also and with the easy pull you could hold it all day long if it was'nt wearing blisters on your hand ( where the top of the trigger gun pushes in betweeen your thumb and first finger) Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  10. Here are pics of first WTW job that I did. I Would like honest opinions on how it looks 1-10 With a 10 being excellent (professional work) and 1 being disgusting (could have done better throwing it on with the bucket and smashing it in with my foot. Does it look like I covered it pretty good. First time using this product. Stripped it twice with HD-80. It had Thompson's, CWF, and Olympic on it. Thanks guys!! ken, when you say materials do you mean stain too or just all materials beside stain. I think I am going to set a price per sq. for decks 0-500 sq. another for decks 500-1000 sq. and another for 1000 sq. or more. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  12. first WTW job

Ken, The deck was 1500 sq. for everything including support posts. I included everything to be be stained. The floor was only 715 SQ. I counted 3 sq. for 1 linear ft. of rail. I quoted it for 1.45 sq. not including stain. I thought it was too much, although it was up to 15 ft. off ground in spots and and had a few platforms on it. Do you guys think this quote was really high? This is the biggest deck that I have quoted. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  13. first WTW job

Got a question guys, I just priced a deck today at 1.45 sq. ft. and it sounded really high. Do you guys That charge between a 1.00 and 2.00 per Sq. include stain in the cost or is that just labor and materials (excluding stain). I read Celeste charges between 1.85 and 2.00 gets plenty of jobs. Others I hear are charging around that. Does this include stain? If so, what is the price range without providing the stain? 14. first WTW job

Thanks for the pics Shane, They came out really good, I really liked the lettering. The homeowner was very pleased. Said her deck had never looked better! Sounds like she will be a long term customer. Gave an estimate today on a 1500 sq. Ft. deck that I will use WTW on if I get it. Thanks for the compliments guys. Shane, I can't send the pics either. I don't know what is wrong. They are jpeg from my digital camera. e-mail says can't be sent and were deleted. Can you tell me how to resize them. Thanks!!! Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  19. going rate for decks

sorry Jarrod, I did'nt read on that 450.00 was for cleaning and sealing. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  20. going rate for decks

How are you guys getting away with two trips, unless you are using WTW. 1 trip to strip or clean, another to stain, and the last one to take down plastic and tape. How do you remove the plastic without getting on the deck? Do you guys also have a minimum 450.00 for just a deck cleaning? If you have a 1 story ranch with a small deck that needs to be cleaned and you can't talk the owner into staining it, how will you still charge 450.00. Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  21. first WTW job

sorry, can't load pics the file size is too big. If someone knows how to compress them to load I will e-mail to them and they could post for me. Anyone care to try. Thanks!!! Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  22. 1. I would like to know what you guys are using for defurring decks and what sanders are used? 2. What type of sander can you get into tight places with (where the spindles meet the top of the rails on the outside of the deck) 3. Where can I buy these tools at? Thanks!!! Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694
  23. defurring and sanding tools

Has anyone ever used a Dremel to get into tight places. I have tossed the idea around. Reason for the question in the first place is that I stripped a deck this week that Had Thompson's, CWF, and Olymic thrown on top of each other. Never stripped in between. Don't ask me what they were thinking. I had to strip it twice with HD-80 at full strength. Needless to say it furred more than average. Good thing is that all the stain came off. This is going to be my first WTW job. I will post pics when finished. Ken, does the wagner HVLP in the pic spray WTW very good? Doug Baker Baker's Pressure Washing 270-268-1694 B
  24. Big Thanks to Beth & Rod

  25. concrete cleaner

My local chem. supplier makes a butyl degreaser with sodium hydroxide, metasilicate, and other components. It works o.k. Decent price too for 165.00 a drum. I want something that will rip it off quick, guess I am dreaming. I will try the f-18max. I have HD-80, but have'nt tried it because it seems a little expensive to use on concrete.
