  1. 24" larger surface cleaners

Sorry should have mentioned i have 2 24hp 3500 psi 8 gpm machines... I can pretty much run with my 20 inchers lol...but im thinking an addition of a big surfaqce cleaner would help a lil if i can handle the wheels
  2. Cleaning and Sealing pavers?

Addiment makes really good sealer as well. Theres no retail center for them here in s fla anymore though. Hey Jon, What ever happened with that paver job that you were trying to fix for a customer i spoke with you a while ago now about.....Did you end up having to strip it?
  3. concrete sealing job

Dads stripper...... ask for it at your local benjamin moore...sherwin williams store.... it runs 115-150.00 per 5 gall. Will take any sealer there is off. Whatever doesnt get taken off will be reabsorbed with another xylene based product. I would put a colored stain on that personally....I dont ever use a clear on standard grey slurry concrete. Mine as well use a color stain...they come in a variety of greys you could use to give them a uniform color. And it wont peel.
  4. Flagstone question.

I agree.....anytime we do pool decks.... especially marble, travertine, flagstone... we add shark scale....or 60 grit anti slip.....I buy my stuff from specialty products however they do have similar products at home depot/lowes. Its clear crushed glass beads and you add it to the clear seal...creates a sandpaper-like surface
  5. concrete sealing job

#1 We wash EVERY driveway concrete/or pavers with A phosphoric solution....not so much for etching but to remove any lime deposits or secondary efflo...and YES on 98% of every driveway Definately pavers i can guarentee you there is some form of secondary efflo film cuasing a hazy look. #2 When using a Xylene based clear sealer rolled on ONE coat is all that is necessary for saturation. Possibly two sprayed. Any more than this you are just asking for fogging/whitening of the sealer.
  6. Flagstone question.

Wet loook means different things to people..... Alot of people think wet look should mean (high gloss) in most casses it does not and i wouldnt usually recommend putting the sealer on thick enough to make it a high gloss anyway. However, you can put acrylic on Flagstone. Though there are many variations of flagstone.. Sprayed and thinned with xylene very lightly applied should work just fine. We install many flagstone patios and its comming to bemore common down here in florida. And ive sealed many And remember this..... though flagstone does have pores its not as porous as concrete of pavers or brick...so even with a water base sealer you may still get a sheen and wet look on something as slick as flagstone or marble.
  7. Sealing Concrete after using oxalic for rust.

Yes you can seal over the discoloration... but, No i wouldnt put a clear seal on concrete ever. I would use a color stain / pigmented sealer. Tell her she can make the concrete whatever concrete she wants they come in tons of colors from reg concrete color to pink and she gets the satisfaction of knowing she has a sealer on there as well :)
  8. The dangers of constant chemical inhalation.

Personally i dont wear a resperator when i clean or use bleach, doesnt really bother me. But i do put my resperator on when I seal. Which is 90% of what i do. And pressure pros... what kinda stripper did u put ur hand into?? lol Im Not sure if it was DADS brand... I doubt ud have skin on ur hand after that. I have scars on the back of my leg as we speak from it splashing out of the can onto my leg. Everyone else be careful if u ever use a chem stripper becuase its very very nasty stuff i know! lol
  9. Sealed Drive from the UK

  10. Dreg's List

Wow Ken. I dont know whether to laugh or feel bad for the poor guy.:/ lol Not that a 10hp or 13hp pressure cleaner is bad but at least get a surface cleaner. I guess we all have to start somewhere :( lol

Well there has been many threads about oil removal....diff chems...and peoples ways of applying... I finally got a chance to do a large oil clean up job ....approx 750 Ln FT!! Of dripped oil.... A product now sold @ lowes called Pour n Restore...citris based cleaner....starts in gel form then drys to powder.. It took 100%% of the oil out....applied... let sit 4 hours swept off then applied reg degreaser 100% then surface cleaned everything ..Very Happy with this product and ive tried ALOT of them lol
  12. Product for oil removal

  13. Well i can get through about 10- 15,000 sq ft per day. On avg im doing 2-3 houses per day cleaning acid washing and sealing. I just finished a 21,000 sq ft job for fairfield inn in key west. I finished it in 2 days! Cleaned the whole entry and walkways and pool deck one day and sealed it the next. All ROLLED on ;) Im greedy, and while im young if i can keep those extra hundred bucks per week id spend on someone else then i will. And i dont have to worry about workers Comp. :)
  14. Eliminate Gas Cans ?

Hey, Instead of hooking it up to the gas tank of your car.... Just buy a race tank from summit or jegs.com.... you can get a poly fire safe 12-15 gall tank and still run your stock moter pick up into it.
  15. Does Everyone Use Chemicals?

Well, Ive washed many houses over and over using the same solution and never had any effect on the paint. However, to the argument of longevity of paint. Paint is not meant to last forever, and i guarentee even if a sodium hypochlorite solution removed a microscopic layer, leave mold and mildew on for a lengthy amount of time and it will do 10x more damage to the paint then housewash will.My .02
  16. Product for oil removal

I applied it dry..... let it sit for 4 hours came back swept then applied a regular detergent surface cleaned and nothing remained..... its 8.00 for a quart bottle. I got about 50 sq ft out of it. Works on transmission fluid, oil, i dont believe it works on tar though. Like i said ive tried everything for oil. Cleaners , degreasers, microbial products and nne have pulled put oil like this one. I normally dont buy products from depot stores but this works well.. Pour-N-Restore: Oil Stain Remover, Oil Stain Removal, Removing Oil Stain on Driveway, Concrete Oil Stains is the web site.

  22. Cleaning around swimming pools

No way around it.....i usually tell customers to turn off all pumps and theres nothign thats going to get in the pool that a hammer head vac cant clean up.....have them schedual a pool guy when ur done..... If i have a big job thats really dirty i have a local pool guy that does all my cleaning after im done sdo i figured it into the price.... customers happy that they dont have to deal with it.. :)
  23. Paver sealing by air sprayer ????

My personal opnion i wouldnt even waste money on an airles....they operate at way to high psi evenb at lowest setting and air-rates the sealer to much leaving sealer streaks that may nmot show even until the sealer has begun to wear.... We roll evrything on... i can get 1000 sq ft doen in 25 -30 min with an 18 inch roller now with my home made heavy duty 32 inch roller... i can go through a drive faster then any airless ;) Roller gets more sealer on the brick and more evenly coated... if i have to spray corners i use a pump... And we resand after sealing unless were using a sand stabal;izer such as Jon mention sand lock which is made by pavetech or poly sand.
  24. Deposits anyone????

50% down after contract signed for every customer... Contracts mean NOTHING. Try taking someone to small claims court for not paying you on a 1000.00 job itll cost you almost that much and by the time you even get any money it could be monthes to years...ive gone down that road. 50% for everyone and at least if they bail i have my materials covered.
  25. New to pressure washing
