In Hillsborough we have a lot of compitition every time I turn around I see a rig or a car with an "A" frame in the trunk. Scott & them @ ameritech must be doing good. I guess my thing is I could be a low baller I have a small auto loan I own my rig and I don't have rent or a mortgage (TMI). But Im not going to be cut throat and low ball for a number of reasons. The biggest is I take pride in what I do some times a 2 hour job will take me 4-5 hours because I am that miticulous. So in my opinion you are paying me for quality however now a days money talks and service, quality and bustin my a$$ out in the heat don't matter to customers. I don't want to keep wasting my time giving quotes and loosing money. My purpose with this thread was to see how off I was. My conclusion is that I am good on price for a high quality job for my area. Thank you Thomas and John for your openness as you are some of my compitition and I thank the rest of you for your opinions.

Jason I might go. Try travelocity then call that hotel and they will usually beat that.

You get used to it after a while. Some 6-8 hour days I drink 24+ 12oz bottles of water.

I put a bid in today on a 7720sq ft house & garage, 2 story, plants everywhere. The lady called me asking for a quote for a roof cleaning in one of the more expensive neighborhoods in the area. She said she did not think it was that bad but someone told her to get it done. I get there and it is a large 2 story with a decent pitch and Flat tiles. I could not get an accurate measurement do to all the plants and crap in the way. She was not home at the time so I called here this afternoon and tell her it is going to be around 1300 and I will also clean the rust stains around the house and PW the front entrance of the house the phone got silent quick .... then she said we are getting a couple of quotes and we will call back. This is easily a million dollar+ home. It seems like I am not able to seal the deal on some of my quotes because of being to high in price. I tell them I am licensed & insured and have some excellent references.

Fly me up there for a weekend and throw in a round of golf and I will teach you Quickbooks & help you with office Ideas. Once you get a system down have a young lady keep up with it part time Collage kids are great. ACT program is a great program to keep your contacts and customers in.

If my math is right thats about 11 cents a sq ft. with out the cost of a lift. Keeping that asphalt clean is going to be a PITA. Plus the cost of travel a couple of times due to limited cleaning times. Lights and a generator if needed. I probably would have bid higher than you. But congrats on getting the job!

This is what pisses me off one station will be 3.06 then 2 miles down the road its 2.84. I feel if people keep going to the higher stations it sends a signal that we (americans) are willing to pay the high prices so Ceo's can have $80 million dollar a year salary's

Thats why I am over insured all of my equipment, It is insured for what it would cost me to get brand new equipment. And the trucks have Gap Insurance.

I bid a Gutter cleaning today 500 LF (at $1.50) two story and 60 LF($1.00) single story all have screens and they are over flowing. Yes this is a BIG A$$ house. I would like to see how off or on I may be in my pricing. I bid $810 this includes removal of debrit off property. What do you guys think? v

Beth I re-did my Brazilian cherry floors in january. I rented a machine at HD sanded it. I put a clear coat and it turned out awesome!

Jon my female Boxer was 55 pounds when the doctor put her on pregnizone (a steroid) for skin alergies she gain 5 pounds and started getting aggressive. My aunt came over with her 95 lbs Austrailian shepard and my girl had that dog pinned down and would not let it up.

Thanks Aloha. No cage. I did a test spot with the wand and it looks like some of the paint was worn. The high parts had a gray look to it in some areas.
Hey Jon I tried some of that rust stuff ameritech sell that stuff is awesome! I pump sprayed it on and the rust melted away.

It's mainly mold and mildew a little rust. HOA asked about just spaying then clorine down and leaving it. They said it was done before. My understanding is it must be rinsed. Is that true?

I have never cleaned a Kool deck I need to know will my whisper classic damage it? I plan on useing 12.5% downstreamed let set for 30 min then rinse. Any other suggestions???

I am not a woody nor am I interested in being one. But I PW a friends house & drive for him and he asked about the fence so I hit it for him. I did good no streaks or anything but it looked like the wood fuzzed up in some places. Fence is a pressure treated wood. He is extremely happy with it but I don't know why it left that stuff on it. Did I mess up the wood?

I have done a couple of roofs but have not noticed a big difference in chem usage. If anything I think I would use more chem on shingles.
