  3. water toting

In the town its not that big of a deal. They are on city water and I just ask and usually they don't mind. The majority of customers live outside city have well water and since there hasn't been alot of rain here its a concern. I to run there hose in my tank while I'm cleaning but usually inside of 30 minutes ther is no water in the well.
  4. water toting

This year for some reason everyone wants there house washed and deck cleanded and strip it seems. I can run my unit for about 50 minutes before tank runs dry. i can usually clean a 2500 to 3000 sgft house with one tank and the deck with the second. Any extra rinsing could cause trouble and more water. S & J
  5. water toting

I have a 6.0 gpm unit and out of the 20 some house I have done this month I'd say 15 of them the well went dry or stopped pumping water due to level of water. I used to put the customers water hose into my tank and refill as I'm washing but have quite because one time a lady's well went dry and pump started pumping red dirt from bottom of well into my tank. I didn't think I would ever get the dirt out. Now I just price job with water included and carry my own. If job is big and it will take two tanks of water I price an extra trip for water. Around here, most everyone has wells. S & J

  7. water toting

Which guy are you referring to? I don't know how any one can make money with 125.00 and include your own water. The cheapest I have ever cleaned a house is for 150.00 and carried my own water. The only reason it was 150.00 was because they where a very close friend. S & J
  8. Grey Away

Okay I give up. Where can I find Gray Away ? I have Looked and looked, searched and seerched. Its probally right under my nose. I've heard just about every stain product out there but this one and I see alot of people on here using it and thought I give it a try on a deck. Just can't find it. Also looked at some local places that carry stain but no luck.. Thanks, S & J

  10. Was just wondering if someone could tell me what else I could do to this deck to get the rust stains out of the old deck boards you see in picture. There is one in the middle and two by the door. This patio was a new addition onto the deck. You can see the new deck boards in the picture. Also can the old wood be brightened any more to get closer to the new ones? Restore from envirospec was used for cleaner and Deck and Shake Brite was used for a brightener. I put two coats of the brightener on to try and get it to lighten as close as I could. Needless to say the customer was happy but I wasn't. The deck hadn't be cleaned in ten years, the rust stains are 8 plus years old. Thanks in advance S & J Pressure Washing
  11. Deck Question

  13. Concrete cleaning and staining

Just a quick opion question. I have a woman that wants a quote for cleaning, staining and sealing a patio. The patio is a new enclosed 203 sqft patio that has two walls that are vinyl and two sides that are sheetrock, painted. The patio is totally inclosed with no drains in floor. The floor is still dirty from construction and has plaster on it. They want it pressure cleaned than stained with H&C concrete stain.I'm going to use a surface cleaner and shop vac to get up the water and dirt. I figure three gallons of stain at 25.00 a gallon and one gallon of sealant at 25.00.Thats close two 250.00 dallors for material. Thats two coats of stain, one coat of sealer.I was going to quote 600.00 for the job but feel its to low. I was just wondering if any one else that does this type of work could tell me if I'm way off on the quote or close. Thanks in advance for input. S & J

  20. water toting

This particular day I was cleaning two houses side byside and the first house I was told that the well would run dry so I filled my 300 gallon tank and took with me. The second house was the one that I was told the well had enough water. I aways carry my tank full when ever I go out to a job. It was just frustrating that I was told that the well would hold a cleaning and it ran low just before I had finished. S & J
  21. Sodium Hypochlorite

Wanted to ask all the experts on the board if industrial bleach is safe to use. I found that I could buy WD laundry Bleach Chlorine by the 55 drum close by. It is 15% concentrate. If its safe to use how to dilute it and at what ratios? Thanks, S & J
  22. Has anyone ever used a staining paddle to stain the slats on a deck? How did you like it? Do they save any time? Thanks S & J

  24. water toting

The other day I was cleaning a house that the onwer had told me there was plenty of water in the well and wouldn't you know I had one little section left and the well went dry. I had to stop and drive 30 miles to get water. Told home owner about it and they said oh yea it will run dry but in about an hour it will be full again. Very frustrating!!! S & J
