  1. NO on-site water

I just looked at 15 buildings for a management company... they are 2 1/2 stories (vinyl siding) and 6 buildings have 5 decks that measure 6x12 (30 total). the other 9 buildings have decks that are 6x12 (double decker) and each bulding has three of these decks... (so 27 total decks).... They want buildings cleaned, decks cleaned and stained, and some repair work on the decks... here's the kicker... NO WATER AT ANY OF THESE BUILDINGS!!! If it were a 1 day job, It wouldn't be a problem to get a water truck, but how am I gonna get that much water over a period of 10 or 14 days?? Any suggestions would be great... My idea was to rent a big tank and have water delivered each day I was going to work... but that may take multiple fills each day??
  2. EacoChem Products

    sample are always the best
  3. EacoChem Products

I guess they're listening. It couldn't hurt. I think they are a good product
  4. EacoChem Products

Sorry,, you can't get any kits... maybe as a distributor you can ask them to change their thinking, I already put in my request for "kits" I have used LCS, Stripsol,& safe restore
  5. Masking tape problem

might look funny when you apply it to the tape!!
  6. EacoChem Products

I used them on a few projects, and found them very good. Problem is the price is high and they don't really have too many "kits." I also dealt directly with them and they had very good technical assistance. They even followed up with me a few weeks after I had gotten my first and second shipment of chems. Tom Defrancesco has used some of there stuff also, and he has had great success with their masonary and truck wash stuff
  7. Pittsburgh, PA

Just got back from visiting family. If anybody is out that way and powerwashing or doing landscaping, they should take advantage of the Rostarver/belle vernon area. quick story why... My Cousin has a paver driveway and she was getting it re-sanded while I was there. Came out in the morning and there where 2 "rough" looking characters with a 1989 chevy s-10, and 5 bags of sand in the back. 1 guy is brooming the sand around, while the other is watching (2 guys, 1 broom!!). after a spending the day in Pittsburgh I get back to my cousin's and notice the driveway looks like CRAP. Weeds still in the driveway, spots that had NO sand, and the sand they used was too course. I told my cousin to get her money back or tell them to correct the problem. The kicker is when they told her thay could power wash her house... Not in my lifetime was I gonna let that happen!
  8. NO on-site water

If I knew someone as talented as I am, I would... got any suggestions? Actually haven't heard from them, but they were supposed to present on the 21st??
  9. NO on-site water

Thanks all. Hopefully I nail down this bid. I'm looking at it again to make sure I have the exact #'s and all of the building numbers correct!
  10. NO on-site water

No garages, they are condo/apartment type buildings... the other 18 buildings I am bidding on have outside water... spoke to a few companies today... 6,000 gallons of water will cost 235-250$ and to leave the tank, it will cost 65-75$ a day. probably will be the option I go with... Tons of work, decks alone will be nearly 27k... without building washes and without figuring in cost of stain. I'm looking at about 10,500 sq. feet of deck...
  11. NO on-site water

thanks Mike and 'benchmark' the hydrant thing will be looked into, but with "drought" season coming, I may not get a warm reception!!
  12. Feedback about a large bid

Are you washing the houses, or just doing the gutters and windows? and who is paying? the homeowners themselves, or the property management company?
  13. I understand the vinegar comment, but as I have said, how many times do you see a guy post a sale item and have 5 guys chime in about how you could get something else cheaper, or ask for pictures when you know they aren't gonna buy the thing?? I've seen it a lot.

  14. after those few pics, I can't judge what kind of stain it is, but it shouldn't be a problem to get off. Mostly because some of it came of by "accidental wanding"
  15. So let me get this straight... you haven't done anything yet?? Hopefully this is from some previous contractor, because someone ****ed up that siding... sorry, had a few beers tonight!!!! I just re-read the post... break out the whooping stick, cause you're about to hit a HOME RUN!!!!if those swirls are deep. then u need to sand, then strip, defurr, stain and collect a BIG paycheck!!! I love coming upon some other dicks mistake... it makes my bank account swell!!!
  16. what speed are you running the polisher at while defurring??
  17. what the hell are those swirl marks?? I hope that's not from your cleaning it?
  18. patio floor

hell no, 2400 is TOO low in my opinion, unless that doesn't include stain price. you should be getting about 2.00$ a sq/ft. for stripping and staining as a STARTING figure. I wouldn't go any lower than that... If I'm bidding that, I'm going About 4k at the low end (couple of dollar discount because it's all flat work..) And you could probably save some material money and use stain pads and mop the Ready Seal on... and get between the boars with a brush. After that, you could invest in a decker (my next purchase!!)
  19. Looks nice Rafal. Is that the wet formula of Wood Tux? or did you go back after it dried?

  21. Artillery Fungus Removal

just got a little bit of their stuff, and Safe restore was one of the things I'm trying. It defenitely takes rust stain off of vinyl and I did a test spot on chalky brick, and it cleaned that up very well. I will try the artillary thing next time I have a HW
  22. this year sucks!

Do you have friends or family near your targeted market?? Bite the cost and a few hours, and go do a free-o house wash for a friend or relative who live in a decent size neighborhood... make sure people see you doing it, and make sure the house is actually dirty. This get people talking and helps get your name out there. This is how I did my "experimenting" and this is how I got my first few jobs. after that business cards and advertising will start to kick in. The other way I get work is find painters that work in your area, most of them don't like to do powerwashing. I have a guy that gives me at least 1 job a week. He owns 2 powerwashers and hasn't touched themin about 1 1/2 years since I did a deck for him.
  23. I still have a few gallons left of Rowlett's Roof Magic... does anyone know if you can "boost" that stuff. Once I'm done with that, I will be in the market for a new stripper, and have just started re-reading in the forums. Seems I'm getting a lot of calls for the "solids" to be stripped this year, and haven't really had time to address them...
  24. Bye bye CWF

how does that timber strip do with acrylics??
