I'll be in Myrtle with the family April 20th to the 25th. Anybody want to get a beer? or need a yankee to show how powerwashing gets done correctly?? LOL
  2. Coming to Myrtle Beach!!!

Hey RUBBERS, I'm here. playing golf in the morning. Had a **** ride down, lots of rain and road work. Idiot me should have gone 84 to 81!! I'll give you guys a call Monday
  3. Am I too high on residential

Doug, For that I wopuld have gotten $725 maybe more. especially reclaimimg. But we don't have many concrete drives up here. Just the house, would have been $500- 550. Just goes to show where the market differs by geography
  4. joe walters wants me to pay!!

I found Joe walters to be quite high in his price. After 1 year I switched to Farm Family. They saved me like $400 a year, Plus he insured my equipment/trailer and vehicles. The Equipment is covered under a seperate policy (inland marine policy) and FF was still cheaper with 2 policies and More coverage... And no "fee" The policy already has the agent's cut in it... guy writes me 5 policies (homeowners and vehicles also) I couldn't see paying $75 for each policy. Just my opinion. It would be like us saying "it's $450 to wash the house, then sending another bill for $75 because we had to write a bill, cash the check, and call in payroll!"
  5. I know that Cabots, Sherwin Williams and Wood Tux have a 'wet' formula, but are there any others out there? I want to change over to 'wet' so I don't have to wait for drying time and the weather to cooperate!
  6. totally agree about the "prep when wet theory" was thinking more along the lines of new construction, and decks that don't need heavy stripping
  7. I love the decks with the thick layer of mold that has turned black. It's always fun to watch the customer gape at the clean deck afterwards. Rick, where is Palinsboro? I'm familiar with northern jersey like paramus, fairlawn, ramsey and the likes!!
  8. And they probaby cup more. plus the don't have the rounded edges to take water away
  9. Coming to Myrtle Beach!!!

I'll be up at 7 (the kids) but ain't no work happening when I'm on vacation!! I'll call you rubbers when I get down there!
  10. A Pig with lipstick is still a Pig!! If he's gonna "re-build" next year, why waste the money? Oh, because he's not gonna re-build. You should clonk this guy over the head!!!
  11. Coming to Myrtle Beach!!!

My neighbor bought like 30 tickets through group sales. I do none of the planning, I just "show up!" this sounds good, I'll have to see which day I'm not doing anything... which would be better for you guys, morning or afternoon??
  12. Coming to Myrtle Beach!!!

I'm still washing, just did some trucks today. Good for you Mike, Jeff needs some competition!! I'll defenitely call you guys. We're also going to the minor league baseball game, heard it's lots of fun
  13. Coming to Myrtle Beach!!!

I'm defenitely up for a couple of beers. I'm staying at the Long Bay Resort.. Jeff, I'm sure you've cleaned it!!
  14. Thecleanernetwork.com is gone

I have been very busy with my restaurant and the new baby boy (Jan 12, James Cooper Bruno) But I just realized Steve's board was gone. Steve taught many of us what it meant to be a powerwasher, and he certainly helped me get started and stay in business. I will always be indebted to THE CLEANER NETWORK and Steve Rowlett.
  15. Is this a good deal?? Help!

Walk away, and build yourself a set up. If you're not getting his "business' then it's not worth it. You can get NEW stuff for that price, maybe even cheaper
  16. Real Estate Agents

**** those people. I've done like 3 jobs for them, And No way in hell am I gonna pay $1200 to be "listed" as a preferred contractor. They're selling houses so damn fast, that it doesn't matter what the exterior looks like. Most "for sale" washes I do is because the owner wants it done. Other than that it's oogats... And this is coming from a guy who's best friend is a BIG real estate guy!
  17. I know it's expensive, but that new wolmans stuff will eat up acrylic. And I actually think that deck was pretty well built. If he hadn't lagged in the spindles, they might not be there with his 0 deg. tip cleaning process! And I hate to hear the sad stories, but didn't tou say these homes had milion dollar price tags?? If they can afford to own a big home, then they should be able to maintain them... Sorry, feeling a little angry today!!
  18. while watching your video, I noticed a guy w/ a video about cleaning decks. What the hell is oxygen bleach? and is he kidding me with pouring the stuff on the deck with a 5 gallon bucket?? If I remember correctly, someone may have asked this before...
  19. If I Had 100,000 Dollars I Would

Ken, "I'll be your Huckelberry" Hell, I was made to sell stuff. When I worked for Bud, I was deemed most likely to fleece the eskimos (Selling them Ice!) Imagine some of the brands that I had to sell... Red Wolf, Bud Dry, Bud Ice, Nat Ice, and all kinds of other **** they used to bring in. But w/ 100k, I'd buy a piece of property in the mountains... just don't know which ones... Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire/ North Carolina/ And there when I retire in 9 1/2 years!!
  20. Wreck

About Leasing and depreciation, My accountant doesn't like the Leasing option because you're using the truck/equipment for work and it will take a beating unless you do the lease to own option like I did with my machines. At the end of the lease, I pay $1 and I own all the machines. Let the accountant figure out your best option, but leasing may get you burned, because you have to turn it back in. Plus who cares if the truck loses value when you drive it off the lot, it's your work truck and you probably won't be re-selling it next year!!
  21. to funny

Besides the hoses hanging off the truck, It looks like my first truck I started out with... An '88 chevy with tons of rust!! But when opened up the tailgate opened... BAM! Landa PG belt driven machine with great chems and LONG hoses!!
  22. Sikens,

I will show him that option, but I'm not going to purchase that right now. I usually use my x-jet for all of my chem applications, but I'm trying a few new strippers (hd-80 and f-18) and I hadn't run into any dillution ratios used w/ the x jet..
  23. Sikens,

Will a pump up do?? I'm close to selling my company, and I want to be able to keep my buyer on top of all other guys in my area. And Yes Rod, you and Beth do "artistically beautiful work!"
  24. A note on Customer Service

Most of the time, I don't get paid right when I finnish the job. The biggest reason is that I can call the customer (or they call me) and ask how everything was, and set up a time to get paid or they can put it in the mail. More than enough times, they usually tell me about someone they have referred. Just a little tidbit on a way to "follow up"
  25. What is this?

I see it way too often. Follow the link that Josh has provided, and tell the homeowners up front what it is (they can look it up also) Then tell them that it's not going to come off. scratch a piece off in front of them, and show them the mark it leaves behind.
