Regulators and Filtering Air for HVLP Remote Cup

Question

I'm working on setting up a new spray system for the spring. I'm running an HVLP gun with a remote cup from my portable compressor. I'm wondering about whether I need to be filtering the air from the compressor before it gets to the remote cup and where to set up my regulators. My compressor is not oilless, so I'm guessing I need a filter for water and oil? Any recommendations? I want something that isn't cumbersome that can be installed in-line. Also, where do I want to put the filters? Closer to the compressor or the remote cup? As far as the regulators go, I already have one on the compressor and one on the remote cup. Do I also need a regulator with the filter on the air line and/or on the gun itself? I've heard 8-10 psi coming out of the compressor and at the remote cup...does that sound right? lots of questions here I know, but this is new territory for me.... thanks!!!
