Weather Challenges

Question

How do you people deal with customers that think that you are just slacking off when it is 60% chance of rain and you can not stain. Also, what percentage of chance of rain stops you from staining?

I've never had a problem with that attitude from customers. I keep in constant contact with them during the course of a job. When I do have to delay for weather I always have a new schedule to give them; I don't leave it open ended as to when I plan to complete the job. As far as chances of rain delaying the job, that's a little harder but more than 50% would probably cause me to delay staining.

Same here. Just be up front at the beginning about the possibility of weather delays due to the chance of rain and keep in contact with them about it. They would rather have their deck done right and not rushed and have the possibility of their stain ruined due to bad weather.
