Guest tmboss Report post Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) My son's box lacrosse team has access to a hockey rink that does not get used in the summer time. This floor is painted white with hockey lines painted in (Blue, Red, Goal...). It is a smooth cement floor. The team wants to remove the paint and get back to cement. They have been used a water activated stripper (Devostrip??) and ice scrapers (8" wide). They roll the product on, wait and then start scraping. They are taking off some of the paint but they is several layers and it's physical, time consuming job. I don't know what kind of paint but assuming oil based the way it's coming off. What product(s) should they be using? What process? Any tools that would make easier? If it was my project, I'd quit now and paint it. The concern with paint is that is very slippery with dust or water on it. Is there paint for athletic surfaces? Box Lacrosse players use Basketball shoes. EDIT: All done now. Used a lot of muscle / stripper and then a carbide floor grinder. Edited July 2, 2009 by tmboss
