ThePressureWashingGuy.com 14 Report post Posted February 17, 2010 Greetings fellow power washing industry professionals. Scott McLeod, owner of The Pressure Washing Guy here in Central PA. Entering my sixth season. Very optimistic that our future will be bright as long as we continue to learn and grow and treat customers well. Here is one thing I'd like to learn more about: how my major recurring expense categories compare to those of my industry counterparts (as a percentage of gross revenue). Certainly, size of company will impact how these percentages work in each company. My company consists of two full-timers and two part-timers. Thanks in advance for any input! For those willing to share, what is the approximate percentage of your gross annual revenue, that you spend annually for: Advertising = ? Auto/Fuel = ? Supplies = ? Wages/Labor (not including myself) = ? Lastly, what percentage of annual gross revenue do you expect to keep for yourself = (pre-tax)? My numbers for 2010: Advertising ~ 10% Auto/Fuel ~ 5% Supplies/Chems ~ 17.5% Wages/Labor (not including myself) ~ 13% My take as a percentage of gross revenue ~ 40% (pre-tax)

Henry Bockman 14 Report post Posted February 25, 2010 I dont get it, why aren't you paying yourself as part of your wages/salary? Don't you deserve a good salary for being responsible for everything? I won't share my numbers and it wouldn't matter if I did, pressure washing is only about 30% of my business. I am planning on doubling my gross profit margin this year over last year though.
