ron p 500 Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Well if you have and were thinking,"a hot water skid is what i really need" then envriospec's $2995 super skid is a pretty darn good deal. I dont think you could buy the part's that cheap.
0 Jon 533 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Sounds like an equal oppertunity retailer, others sell them for that price and if I were in the market for a new one it would not be from Especs. Sorry Ron but this is one time I disagree with you, your just lucky to never have problems with their stuff. For a few bucks more you can buy a Delco skid. No I don't own one of theirs. If I had to buy from one of those two it would be Delco though.
0 petemoss 14 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Just curious. Is this skid unit different from the Allison Ironhorse? That is all that I see on their website. I guess I thought they cost more than that.
0 Jon 533 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Like all businesses they have several models, and they change them around, get rid of slow selling ones and bring new ones in. Sometimes it is the same thing with new name.
0 ron p 500 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Jon,they just sell the tuff skid not mfg. them. For the most part all skid's are the same but some are cheaper made. I think im spolied, I have a LARGO and have the pressure switch fail. THAT'S IT. IN 3 YEAR'S USE. Now i have a used cold water unit and can rebuild a pump blindfolded. I dont need customer service when i got the WIZ.
0 Jon 533 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Ron I agree with that, even Delco's skids are pretty much the same, different names, different pumps etc. which makes the prices go higher as do the bells and whistles. I am sure the less expensive units work pretty much the same as top of line except for cost and quality of what is used in them. If your tight with cash I guess the lowest priced hot water skid is what you buy but you need to factor in shipping cost. Say Especs sells one for $3000 plus shipping of say $800 so the cost is $3,800. Now say Delco sells one of equal value for $3,200 and shipping of $400 = $3,600, which would you buy? Just an example above, not a sales pitch for either company. If both are equal you would buy the less costly one, right? About you fixing things blindfolded, I know a deck guy that needed help bidding a few days ago, seems he was blinded by something and could not bid correctly, might you have helped him out:p
0 Greg Rentschler 14 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Just FYI - Envirospec no longer sells any TUFF equipment.... and shipping on that skid is around $200. We bought one back when they sold them :) Greg Rentschler
