Mixture of half water and half vinegar can remove without damage and CLR can also be used.

If it's light staining, 0000 steel wool works well. If it's more severe than that, try OneRestore from EaCo Chem Inc. Cleaning and Restoration Compound Manufacturer. CLR is garbage. And do not use a green pad. It is too abrasive. White only.
