newbie here HELP!!!!!Please

Question

Am working on a deck bid here in South TEXAS on the coast. Elevated, many odd sized ares of decking I figured it all to be equal to a deck of:

80x16 deck area. 1280 s.f.

260 lin.ft of railing with 3-4 spindles per foot

30 stairs 8 foot wide

approx. 4 years old never stained before ..just greyed and dirty

He wants 2 bids, 1 for just top side and railings

and 1 including bottom side (approximately 12 foot high)

Materials included I come up with around $3937.00 for all

or $2156.for just top and steps and rails...

this equates to about .95 per s.f.. Any thoughts??

That looks like a beach house so the wind is gonna be terrible! It will probally take you twice as long to stain that deck by hand if you can't spray casue of the wind.

What stain are you pricing for that deck at those $$ totals?

I have that bid worked up to $4245.00 as of now.. (including underside of deck) HENCE the difference in price from my first post. This includes materials. I have been using CWF-UV cedartone. I havent had any problems with it . My decks hold their color and UV protection 3-4 years if not more. There has been lots of posts about CWF being crap??? I have no problem with it at all..

Whatever floats the boat I guess..
