  1. If they are going to charge you just to pimp you out they are dollar shopping anyway and will go with some lowballer anyway.
  2. Charge the money back, They want to be added as a loss payee on insurance, there is now a fee for that with us. Government clearance required build it into the price. That is a 2 way street.
  3. Not only chage the fuel lines but flush out the carb and bowl as well ( take the jet out and wash it ot as well) at a minimum clean the carb with carb cleaner. As a rubber fuel line breaks down the bits get pushed into the carb and clog it up.
  4. First Female US President in 2016?

Buisness wise I think 2016 and the economy play a big role in how buisness are being managed and thier growth. Many financial insitutions have allready cut back on lines of credit since the rules for unsecured debt have to be managed by banks now with much more oversight. Look at workmans comp insurance, it has gone up by anywhere from 8 to 36% in the last 24 months based on insurance mandates that must be in place by Oct 1 2014. That is one reason that the certian provisions of the employer mandate have been put on hold. Buisnesses themselves are hiring more part time also look at states benifits the list of what is considered "seasonal work" is now more than tripled and benifits are only 12 weeks at a reduced level for those people who fall into that line of work. Your summer pressure washers now fall into seasonal and must plan accordingly for the end of season lay off. Growth is is smaller steps and graduated. I added a crew this year but fully paid for the van and equipment out fo pocket rather than finance the vehicle and washer most of it was due to not wanting to carry any more debt load The 179 deductions were upped to 250K for 2013 but after that the deduction will start to reduce also the vehicle write off have changed dramaticly for what is considered a "work vehicle" We use vans exclusively so that is fine but the vehicles used to bid jobs that get significantly higher milage are now almost excluded and you have to file additional paperwork each year to show they are used for work.
  5. Cleaner Times Magazine-- who receives this?

I was not aware I had a problem with it.
  6. First Female US President in 2016?

It does not matter if she runs or does not run wins or looses. No country since Roman times has carried a debt load even 40% of what we have now and survived. Our government has rediculous talks on our intrest on our debt and make up funny names for it calling it the "debt load" We are not making any payment at all on our debt merely making a half hearted attempt to pay the intrest ONLY on the money we owe. Yet we continue to spend stupidly and are actually increasing our spending the next presedent will merely be a damage control officer on a badly sinking ship.
  7. Cleaner Times Magazine-- who receives this?

it just shows up I have no idea why. We have never been a member of PWNA. One just showed up today as a matter of fact. The article on Industrial cleaning has a picture of the carrier we used to clean until it's retirement.
  8. If your machines are sitting long enough for varnish to build in the tank you need to up your marketing game. Ethanol is utter garbage in fuel systems. Cars made for ethanol fuel systems can use it but many older vehicles and almost all small engines still do not readily use the fuel without damage. BTW if you fuel system has any rubber ( lines hoses and gaskets) Aluminum,Or magnesium ( many jets on khein carbs) Ethanol will damge them over time. Switch the rubber to EPDM and keep the other components checked regularlyand switch to stainless steel jets. Honda, Kholer, and B&S have all issued service advisories in the last 3 years to service shops for them to replace bowl gaskets due to failure and resulting fire from ethanol eating the gaskets up. Also one thing to be very aware of is that ethanol fuels unlike pure gas is CONDUCTIVE, if you use a electric pump to transfer fuel make sure it is a correct type for ethanol fuel.
  9. Does "Owner operated rule"???

It rules very much so. I still go out 3-4 nights a week with the guys to clean for several reasons. Some are because I have known the owners of the places we clean for years and honestly enjoy thier company. Some are to make sure the job is done right. I like to think we put the best people out there but we all take shortcuts and the bottom line is if you want it done right do it yourself or at least be there to make sure it is done right. I also still like to get greasy here and there and pride myself that I can "out work" almost every guy I have working. One other thing to consider is that if you are the owner and don't show up on some cleanings especially at mom and pop places who know you the owners feel slighted.
  10. I don't think Peter King is going anywhere in a presidental campain.
  11. Very cool, My father-in-law was a WW2 pilot on B-17 bombers and for his 80th birthday we took him to a airshow and bought him a ride in a stearman. He had learned to fly on one over 60 years ago. The pilot took him up and let him fly it. We did not know it but for other than taking it up he flew the plane the entire time except for the landing and the pilot said that he was sure he could of landed the plane just fine.
  12. My 24" steal eagle hovering

Hovering, That guy is cleared for launch! I would get some bigger nozzles to keep it on the ground and clean quicker.
  13. Happy birthday USA

  16. Too much drama

Doug should we post the picture about the threads that is over on GP?
  17. If it is just settled dust low pressure hot water with dawn downstreamed should pop it all off. We have cleaned the crushing towers of 4-8" of lime build up and only at the base where it is feet thick is pressure required.
  18. You probably have a ton of scale and/or rust in your burner and the first time you used it a bunch of it let go and clogged the gun valve the unloader and went all thru your hoses. Sounds like you have cleaned it all out. I would run the machine with the burner ON and no gun for a few mins and let it run the water thru. Put a clean white 5 gallon bucket and look and see what comes out. You can have brown or black water from rust and scale in there or just some chunks of what-ever is still in there.
  19. Did Adrian retire and give you that job?
