  1. Rate my new website!

Nat, I am in agreement....too many moving pics and etc.. Started getting sea sick with all the movement but I am ex-Navy.....so I can handle it LOL :)
  2. Wasn't aware of the mold spore issue on the Tred Deck materials. I figured the gurantee from the manufacture was a little hard to believe. I have had 2 customers ask us for installation quotes but that is as far as we got with Trex. I hear it is easy to install...true?
  3. You should be commended!

Terry - Congratulations on YOUR success. Your testimony is a perfect example of the types of contractors that this industry needs in order to further the voice of what works vs. what doesn't. Being part of this BBS and knowing Beth and Rod personally, I can assure you that The Grime Scene's purpose is to help and nothing else. Your success and comments above are a true testimony to that! Check in over the winter months and please do stay in touch! If there is ANYTHING that you need, you know where ask for it.

  5. Who's going to ACR

  7. Who's going to ACR

    I am going...definately!!
  8. I was out cruising around in my neighborhood yesterday and realized that 80% of the custom homes in a gated community next to where I live are up for sale - this whole area 2 years ago was bustling with prospective tenants....now it is a ghost town. So, if anyone has 2 or 3 million laying around....this is the place to buy!! LOL Actually, I should have put this thread in the Bargain Basement Category. :)
  9. Houses for Sale in the Neighborhood

I haven't heard about the painting but have been asked to install synthetic grass vs. RTF sod (fescue/bluegrass), which we have experience in as we have done alot of putting greens in the past. Beth - $500.00 may sound like alot but in this community homes are going between 2-5 million bucks a pop. If the fine was lower the people in these homes could afford to pay the fine on a weekly basis and it would not raise their eyebrows one bit. $500.00 bucks is in line with the area and the income level of these owners.
  10. Houses for Sale in the Neighborhood

Beth - I wish - actually I am very thankful to be right where I am at. Alot of foreclosures going on around here. As a matter of fact - I just left one of the house up there to do an estimate for. Just to show you how serious HOA's are....the potential customer is getting fined by the HOA $500.00 a week for not getting their landscaping done!!!
  11. Houses for Sale in the Neighborhood

Rich - you are absoultely correct about the long road ahead. I live right outside the back gate of the above community. My house, which is in a cul-de-sac, is one of 8 homes. Out of the 8, 3 of the homes are occupied ~ mine and 2 others. The other 5 homes were vacated due to foreclosure reasons. Needless to say I have plenty of parking around my house. So yes folks - believe or not it is going to be very interesting in '08 as it relates to all of our works operation tempo. Now is the time to be clever in your marketing strategies for '08. The rule of thumb is to run your business smartly, efficiently and cut out the "fat" before it cuts you out!!!
  12. Houses for Sale in the Neighborhood

and a few more. Some of you may remember this. A couple years ago I posted some pics on a huge concrete/landscaping job that we were doing (tennis court/putting greens, pool and etc). Well, this is the same development.
  13. Bad Weather

Hey just checking in with the folks in Missouri and Florida...heard some tornadoes touched down....you folks be safe!!!
  14. Sell TGS to a new org??

Looking forward to hearing what the road map will be at Tom's Roundtable as it relates to the subject of a new org. Certainly think that a internet based/BBS type org. could provide a huge benefit to the industry. Let's visit this subject say around the 3rd week of Nov. :)
  15. I think it is great that ideas and/or comments about a new org. surfaces often. It certainly gives all of us an indication of what's on people's mind regarding the direction this industry is or is not heading in......
  16. Sweet looking deck Ken. I am a novice as far as wood goes but one question comes to mind....was all the products used on this deck from your product line?
  17. Link was good on our end... Concur with Ken...check around and see where in your neck of the woods you can get parts. If everything in parts comes from the U.S. figure at least 6 days of down time for parts to be shipped for the U.S. If you are serious, you can probably get them down on their pricing!!
  18. Red Mud Stains on Tile - HELP!!

Hey John...did you notice if the tiles have a sealant on them?
  19. Orlando Estate Home

Great...while you're out there say "hey" to Shaq for me!! :) LOL
  20. Orlando Estate Home

Nice Don - that pool would of look alot better with some stamped concrete around it!
  21. Hey Mark, Thanks for the suggestion about the cold weather - actually I grew up in PA and this gives me a chance to visit my brother who lives down the turnpike from Tom. Looking forward to meeting you Mark!
  22. Looking forward to finally meeting all of you that are attending. After speaking with Tom and a few others in the industry it sounds like it is a "must attend" function. Arriving Friday and heading out either Monday or late Sunday -- See you in Easton!!!
  23. How Would You Handle This?

    What does the contract say?
  24. Fall work

It should be interesting Jeff as x-mas is usually associated with snow and etc vs. casinos and hot weather. It will be a 1st for us!!
