Tony, LOL ~ my garage is a disaster area. From chems, landscaping stuff, concrete stamps laying around things are just cluttered there. I cleaned it up once and tried to keep it orderly but it's not working. When we first moved in I actually put one of my rigs in the garage and made my wife park her car outside for a month!!! :) We keep most of my equipment at a buddys place who has 5 acres (pickup trucks, rigs, bobcat and etc). My garage has been getting cluttered over the last couple months because some of my concrete jobs are no more than 5-10 minutes away from the house and we use the garage as a "loading zone". It is going to have to change due to the new toy we just bought! I would hate to see one of my guys go in the garage to get a shovel and accidentally scratch the car...that would not be good!!!

Thanks all for the comments. Not sure about the tinting Shane but am thinking about doing up the inside with a TV (flip down)! Michael ~ I know what you mean about the pressure. We really did not even need to trade in our other Mercedes C240 as it only had 55k miles on it. When my wife mentioned yesterday that she wanted to just "swing by" the dealership I knew then that I was in store for a long day. Needless to say I came away with a car that I really like ~ paid a little more than what I wanted but overall was a great investment!!!

Quote from Scott Stone ~ "I think that the organization no longer cares about the whole industry but it only cares about wood care." Scott, Interesting you say that because I made pretty much the same comment to a PWNA board member last week!

Hello Tony, I don't know you personally but have heard nothing but good things about you. All of us on this thread (including you) are very passionate in what we believe in and have a keen interest in the future of our industry. There are more "things" going on in our industry today than ever before and for the 1st time we are seeing efforts being made by individuals and independent groups to harness their knowledge, life experience and credentials to better serve those that are in this industry. I would suspect that over the last several years all of us on this thread has looked at the PWNA at one point or another for the necessary guidance and direction one would expect from a national organization. For whatever the reason(s) are or were, the PWNA unfortunately has yet to fill that void that individuals were or are looking for. What I am observing in our industry today is that folks got tired of waiting around for the fireworks and decided to start their own i.e. ~ new websites, marketing programs, round tables and etc. In years past we have seen valiant efforts from one or two groups to "change things" but for whatever the reason(s) were those groups never really got the agenda off the ground and the org. that was representing the industry was still the common denominator in industry discussions. I do not see that being the case these days. I truly believe that folks are taking matters into their own hands and running with creative ideas as to how to further our industry presence. Whether it be a roundtable, a private discussion, a new thread on the BBS, a new website, a new marketing clase and etc.. Now granted, some of these ideas and/or initiatives may fall by the wayside but I have all the respect for folks like Cujo, Ken F. and even the Grassroots.org ~ at least they are trying something they did not get elswhere in this industry. If they fail ~ so be it ~ as fellow powerwashers we will be there to help them get back on their feet! So, what does my post have to do with this particular thread...nothing directly but hopefully it sheds some light on the mood of things out there! To be honest I think people are tired of being tired! Just my .02

Very good thread and some interesting thoughts! How does one determine who in our industry is considered to be "qualified" to instruct and/or teach on a particular topic? What are the guidelines and if there are guidelines, where did they come from? I know of a thread a while back on TGS that spoke on what qualifies and individual to be considered a professional. The views on that were interesting because it spoke on the same logic as to who determines who is a professional. This thread could go around and around and dance on this particular topic for many months. Until a existing org or a "new org" truly embraces the needs and issues of the power washing industry these type of debates will continue! As Beth mentioned, there is a wealth of experience not only from TGS members but from people in this business all over the world. This experience is being used to grow each individuals companies to a different level. Along the way an individual may find a unique way of doing things and want to share it with the community. I find nothing wrong with that. It is healthy for our industry and it is good business! Folks in the power washing industry have stood patiently over the years to embrace that one organization that would truly represent ALL power washers. I am not sure if that organization truly exists today. So what we have is folks in our industry taking matters into their own hands with the creation of new websites, agenda packed roundtables, marketing seminars and etc. Tony, I certainly understand your point and your reasoning. Yes, it is better to be trained and educted by groups/individuals that carry the credentials but who are they and who decided that they are the experts?

Bob, Welcome to the bbs. I still may get out there for a day or two.

I do the snail mail and will be sending my '07 contribution in about a week.

Mark, I just may do that. I am familiar with your area out there. Best of luck in '07.

Scott...you are right about Vegas. There is just something about that city that "draws" people there. I was there this past August for a few days and then headed over to Phoenix to try to catch up with Ron M. I have a couple of friends that do own both residential and commercial property right around the strip area. Let me know next time your in the area...that gives me yet another excuse to go there :)

My understanding that it is a pretty big event and that all the major "players" attend. I also noticed on the website that they do cater also to the small business concrete companies. I thought about attending but I am thinking about going to the NBA All Star game in February and then I turn right around and hit the "PWNA Convention" .....alot of traveling and all in Vegas!!!

Mark, Is your office down the street from where Antonios Pools used to be ~ they just moved a month or two ago? I do alot of work with them with my concrete business! Good seeing ya on the boards.
