I actually have Menieres Disease, which is a balance, equalibrium (sp?) disorder. Never knew I had it and then one night on a fire call I completely lost my balance while I was "packing up" (putting on breathing apparatus). Had to say bye-bye to being a fireman. Anyway, I have had 2 surgies on the right ear with the last surgery being pretty intensive. Through the surgery the dr.'s were able to "control" the balance disorder but I lost my hearing in the right ear. That was about 7 years ago. Just recently (about 9 months) I started experiencing the balance issue again. Went to the dr. and now I have Menieres on my left side. Not good cause they don't want to operate because I will lose my hearing all together. So ~ I am stuck. Experts don't know why people get Menieres nor is there any cure for it!!

Robert, What would be your best estimate on the hours?

Jon LOL about the deaf comment. Being that I am deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other could have been a factor in me talking loud to them :). Good to see you Jon!!

Daniel, My wife went throught 3 people and yesterday I went through 2. The store manager was the final person that we spoke to. My wife told me after we left that I was very loud in expressing my displeasure in their services.

I agree with Ken. I could not imagine the cost savings on you going through the couple of steps of getting the water out of the well and hitting it with a bleach treatment. just my .02 cents

Well...I made it back from Best Buy. I had a sneaking suspicion that they knew that they messed up and they were ready for me when I walked through the door. LOL. Here is what they did for me after I raised my voice a couple of decibals: *Sending my hard drive to the experts so that my data can be extracted ~ they are paying for it *Gave me a couple of hundred of dollars of software as a gesture *reduced the total cost down to $350.00 (it was originally $700.00) *installed all the programs for free along with our Quickbooks.

Just rubbing you bud :). Damns are a great way to recover. I prefer natural evaporation myself and use that as much as possible. LOL -

Contractors License in California: Deck Restoration
newlook replied to kenfitz's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Ken, Welcome to TGS. I am just up the road from you in Solano County. There are many different answers that are given at the state level regarding the licensing. As Anthony down in Barstow mentioned, you could call the CSLB on any given day and get so many different answers regarding the rules and regulations. I do know for a fact that there is no licensing classification for the power washing industry. As with wood restoration I am not sure about that. -

John...nice. Just curious on how much you paid on the rigs only in and out the door. You can email me if you would like. -
Ideal Flatwork Set Up
newlook replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
My preference would be to load everything on a trailer. Add the 2nd machine to cut down on your "onsite" time for that particular account. Another advantage of having multiple rigs is in case of an emergency and you need to get your hand on some money ~ you could sale one of the machines but still be in business. -

Pressure Washing Rip Off

I started with the door-to-door approach in my neighborhood that I lived in for 9 years. Everybody knew me so the trust part was a little bit more easier vs. going into a neighborhood that had no clue as to who I was. -
I hear that Ron. I have a tendency to drop my phone when I am up on roofs (2 stories up).

4 phones on our plan thru T-Mobile. Daughter was given a Razor phone yesterday for her 11th. I go through at least 2 phones a year just from working in our trade.
