Protecting new grass seedlings
newlook replied to Able Hands's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
A/C - Very good point regarding the fertilizer and bleach mix...sounds like a nasty combination. Rinse, rinse and rinse :) -
Protecting new grass seedlings
newlook replied to Able Hands's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Sounds like the approach you are suggesting would work. The only thing that I would add to the scenario is that once you are done spraying chems I would throw some fertilizer on the new grass area (make sure the grass is still wet). I would also add into the contract with the customer all the steps you took to ensure that the grass would not be adversly effected by the chems. You migh want to add a simple clause to state that you can not be held responsible should in fact the new grass not thrive and/or grow. -
Jon, Great idea. We have had a referral program in place for years....

If it is just power washing probably the biggest we have done was a baseball stadium for an Oakland A's Farm League last year ~ Stockton Ports.

Okay...the 2nd wave of the Management Guidelines just went out. Those that P/M and sent me email(s) also were included in the group.
-
The email approach worked vs. the CD. Those that requested this information but only provided your mailing address will need to hit me with your email address.
-
Email is a great thing. I just sent the management guidelines to the following individuals: Ken F, Jeff, Craig, Ray, Rich, Hugh, Matt (Able Hands) and Mike (Mr. Pressure). Let me know if you all received everything that I mentioned in the email. If so ~ I will email it out to the rest of you that have requested. LOL ..someone called me and walked me thru on the email approach vs. CD. For those that received via email, please let me know what you think.

I have all the CD's almost done...no need for postage. I will try to get these out to all that have requested it online and also direct emails to me. Just thought I would touch base and let you all know that I have been working on them.....

Here is a sample...hope this helps!!! -
I have a CD of the information. I am going to try to see if I can get all the information up on the BBS. I will call Beth and see if I can do it. If not, I will burn some CD's and go from there. Hold off sending any postage payments. I may be able to get a CD out to you folks.

hey folks...need mailing addresses...sorry. The binder has about 200-300 pages to it I would guess...

Beth, Very nice. The TGS site support has certainly gained some momentum. I would consider making this an annual drive...let's do this once a year...make a big push for it. Just a suggestions :)

Ken, Hit us with your fax # and we will fax over a nice newspaper article/press release that was done on our company. You may get some ideas for yourself after you read it.

I've got some downstream questions
newlook replied to CCPC's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
One recommendation on the ball valve, make sure that you completely flush with clean water after each use. Sometimes the chems after many uses will have a tendency to "gum" up in the ball valve and it can be difficult to open and close. It is more of a maintenace thing than anything. -
We have received those also. How many of you have received the email talking about some member of the Royal family of Zimunda was killed and left 12 million U.S. dollars. The person that is sending the email needs your help to unfreeze these funds and do a wire transfer to your account. All you need to do is send them 2k to let them know you are serious?

Looking forward to Chapter 2.

I am catching up on the thread. Great questions and good info. Jon, it would be very difficult if just one crew was blowing water and the owner was pushing paper to gross the million mark. Just my opinion. I am with John T. on this one...you would have to do alot of commercial work. For us, we are involved in different industries. Concrete, powerwashing, landscape design and painting. By having different services affords us the opportunity to reach those financial bench marks we are currently discussing.
