John, Take the plunge and go full time. We have been at this for 4 years and I don't regret it one bit. Good luck!

A good Church Hill at a casino is good enough for me...

All good deeds ...yes ... very good people in this industry. How about that power wash company in N. Calif. that traveled down to S. Calif. 2 years ago during the "Fire Storm" and donated power wash services to homes that were covered with soot and ash? :)

Any sanding involved Mike? -
Why even spend the time to try to think of a new name for a lowballer? Is giving them a new name going to position us legitimate companies in a better place with customers? I concur with Craig on this.

Need wood guy San Jose, South Bay Area

Richard, I am sure that when you and the rest of the crew hit the town...the drinks were paid for by the locals. Our place is near the Hyatt. Speaking of "hot shots" ~ we have had 3 pretty good wildland fires in the last couple of weeks. Strike teams and hand crews coming in from all over the place....ahh the memories :) -

I "tip-toe" around wood jobs as much as possible. I am still in the learning mode when it come to brighteners, stain and etc. We will stain new construction (fence, gazebo, deck). Good luck -
Pretty funny Jon....

newlook replied to CLASSICPW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Jon, Certainly we are always looking for growth within the organization. We are looking to add a few things (quality assurance team) to our existing service(s) to help compliment them and also be in a position to offer our services to pretty much anybody. We are exploring offering financing for some of the bigger concrete contracts we get. Franchising is not on our radar screen at this time. Can someone do what we are doing?....sure!! What our company does is surround ourselves with some very talented individuals, offer competitive pricing/guarantees and sprinkle it with some good old fashion customer service. That is basically it. -

Oh...everybody...thanks for the kudos on our work...appreciate it. Tropical...give the airless a shot. I am sure that you will be surprised of the results. Make sure the pressure is low when you are spraying. -

Jon, All the work in the pic falls under our company ~ no subcontracting on our concrete or landscaping work. The only time we would consider subcontracting would be for finishers only and only if the job went beyond a 25 yard pour for one day. Is there money in stamped concrete....yes there is. If you do good work you can make alot of money. If the work is not so great...well...you phone will not be ringing off the hook :) We have 9 guys working with the company. 6 of them are totally dedicated to concrete/landscaping. The remaining 3 focus in on the power washing and painting (yes we paint homes) I do not personally do the concrete/landscaping design ~ that is for the expertise of my partner (16 years under his belt and counting). I personally do the power washing and supervise the painting. Are we busy...yes. Concrete/Landscaping is booked through September. We do power wash maintenance monthly for a variety of restraunts, strip malls and fleet wash. We average about 2-3 new residential power washes per week and that does not include our existing data base of past customer that we service every year. Ontop of that we also work with Real Estate agents to promote curb appeal for houses that are going on the market for sale. -

Tropical, This is the type of overheads that we do. This is done more in the new construction vs. older homes. We build it from the ground up. Prior to setting it on the concrete we stain each piece with the Magnum. Takes us about 30-45 minutes to stain. -

We use a Magnum sprayer for our overheads that we do. Home Depot carries them. -
Mike, We work with 5 different real estate companies with our Real Estate Enhancement Program. It is geared for the customer but we have it structured so that the real estate agents will push the program for us. We have had great success working with real estate agents.

Great to hear that business is going well for you John. We have been really busy out here in sunny CA. It is a wonderful thing to get to play in water and get paid for it :)

Shane, How far are you from Ft. Worth?
-
You guys down south cannot catch a break with the weather. I heard that this hurricane season is going to be pretty active so hang on. FYI - calling for high 80's low 90's over the next couple of days in my neck of the woods.

Seems that all of us are smack dab in the middle of the busy season. I was wondering how many hours per day do all of you spend during the busy season? For us, :) I have been averaging 12 hour days.
