We returned back from Hawaii about 2 weeks ago. Weather was great ~ upper 80's to the low 90's. Snorkeling was a blast and managed to even see a whale. Spent 8 days on Kaui which is the northern island. 1st pic is me and my daughter Madison right before we dove into that crystal clear blue water. Next pic is a beach front area that we hung out for a day ~ swam ~ ate lunch ~ swam ~ slept ~ swam ~ you get the idea :) . The building is a restaurant/bar. Waiters come out and serve you lunch, drinks and alcohol if like. Last pic is the famous pig roast or liahua (sp?). Great show and the food was kicking ~ probably not as good as Shane's crawfish down in Texas but never the less it was good food. Anyway, had a great time!

Wow...now that is one big gator. Wonder how long it would take for a gator that size to eat that deer?

Labor For Learning Liability Issues
newlook replied to PressurePros's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Can't a person interested in learning on the job "shadow" you on a rig? For example, you are the one that is spraying chems and he is off to the side watching. Just a thought. -

Pressure Pros ~ same with me. I felt like I was in the middle of a Tom Clancy novel :). I was waiting for a "STAIN MONSTER" to suddenly appear and take one of Tony's helpers ... :) -

Getting Your Foot In The Door W/Out Stepping On Your Competitors Foot
newlook replied to newlook's topic in Construction Cleaning
Yea, I like it and it has got us a few accounts. They key behind it is that when and if the customer does call you ....you need to perform bigger and better than their current power wash company. This marketing approach can take a long time for you to flat out win the contract but it is better than having the door shut on you right from the begining. Just one of many tools we all need in our efforts to stay sharp and think of creative ways of keeping our company name out there. -
I have snorkled in Puerto Rico and Mexico but this water in Hawaii was awesome. About 600-800 feet out there is a reef that was just loaded with fish of all species. I didn't want to get out of the water.

The ole 'what would you charge' question..
newlook replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I am not a roof guy either but do have a quick question since the topic is "hot" :). Would it not have been better to do the roof first then the deck. I am just thinking that if you do the deck first --- put the stain on and make it look nice ~~ and then do the roof, wouldn't the chems from the roof have an adverse effect on the deck? Looking at the pic one could surmise that the shakes do not look that bad so maybe a light chem application on the roof would do the trick. Can anyone fill in the blanks? -
Mike, Just picking up the thread.....count me in. Let us know if you get a few more volunteers for this.

Our company will flat out refuse to do any work that was partially done by another company. We won't even consdider it. Like Beth said....we back ALL of our work if we are the ones that did it.

Richard, You should have it :)

Advice on power washing wood home
newlook replied to prince083's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Certainly this site is here to help whoever has questions....so ask away. I understand what you are trying to do as it relates in getting information relating to what you want to have done to yur house. I must side with Gavin and recommend that you hire someone that has experience in this field. Power washing wood is a carefully orchestrated process that requires in depth knowledge on this particular subject. The Q & A is one of many steps that us contractors took when when we first entered into the power washing industry. Actual work and experience (trial and error) is another step that all of us took to hone in on our strengths and weakeness. I guess what I am trying to say is that by asking questions on the BBS is a good start but will not get you all the way in cleaning the house....
