Replacable vs durable
newlook replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I see what you are saying. We might try that. We start building one tomorrow. Thanks for the tip Shane ... appreciate it. I don't think it is oil base now that you mention it. -

Behr Premium - Cedartone. Tell me a little bit more about wrapping to hide the anchors? What would I do? Thanks -

Shane, We used to build them first and then stain them...what a pain in the ~ you know what. Now we set up two horses ~ tarp the area off ~ and go at it. We have them stained in about 2 hours. One guy spraying (carefully) and the I have another go behind him and roll it with a 3/8" mini roller. Bt the time they are done we have the braces and studs already in place. Pretty smooth operation. -
Good for you Mike...:)

We involve oursleves in redwood overheads/gazebos...meaning we build them as an upsale with our concrete work. We stain them before we construct them with a airless sprayer. We put the different pieces on horses and spray away. Quick question....how does the decker clean up for you. What do you run through it after you are done for the day. I will try to post a pic of one of our jobs :) -
LOL...that's true Gav...I would just have my mother-in-law return it.

Are you just power washing it or doing a prep for painting? -
Beautiful weather in Northern Calif....finally. We are busy..busy...busy.. :)

That is a little on the pricey end... Mike...you got all that for 7500? That's a pretty good deal.

Interesting link Mike as the location is right in our backyard. Unfortunately I did not see anything on the site that spoke in great detail about the pressure washer. I even did a search on the internet for sprak and did not get that very far.

Paul...before spending money on a website make sure that your market is really going to be there. I am sure you have done your research but alot of people are under the misconception that if I have a website then my customers will log on and things will be great! I am a firm believer that a successful "active" website is a direct result of your company's creditability in the area, customer loyalty and good old fashion selling. You would really want your business momentum to PUSH you into the direction of creating and maintaining a website for your business vs. thinking you need to have this to attract customers. If your company does good work and you have a positive reputation then your customer will overlook the fact that one does not have a website.

Depends on what you are using the unit for. I compare the craftsman to the HD units that are sold ~ similiar purpose just a different engine. HD is all Honda and Sears is Crafsman. I am sure they are just as good/bad ~ depending on what day it is :) ~ as the HD units. Sorry I could not be of more help. Here is a question that I have....is craftsman the same maker of the briggs & stranton engines? Anybody? I thought they were the same.

Thanks Cujo I will check it out. I have had the same experience with the sprayers that we paid good money for...after a few times squirting chemicals they just stop working. -

chems for me Shane...I do not get into the wood/staining business too much. I am still a novice in that area. -
Russ, Yes the ones on the Honda Engines. They are not built to take a beating all year round day after day. I started our business with the HD pressure washers so I do have a little alligance to them :). I have 3 of them now...with 2 of them in service and the other I just take parts off and use it to keep the other 2 up to snuff. In my case the throttle restrictor moved up because of the continuous vibration from the unit. All in all...if you keep them maintained and don't rely on them as a 1st rig to splash water then you can keep them a very long time. Outlaw....good to hear that yours held up through the years.

I would be interested to hear more on the K-Mart special. We buy our pumpups from Ace. They always have something going wrong with them. I never even considered going to K-Mart to explore this option. -
I had read on another BBS that somone...I think Cujo....made a conditional offer for way below the asking price on Tsunami rigs. Not sure what if that meant everything or just the rig. The point I am trying to make Lou is that you need to act fast and get on the horn when opportunitys present themselves...not saying your not ~ mind ya :) Good luck in your quest.

what other business are you in Ken? If I may ask. We do concrete and landscaping design also with our pressure washing business.

Coress Extension Wands
newlook replied to PressurePros's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Part of our power washing package puts us on the roof to "slide" back up the tile that "slides" down...so as you see...there is a whole lot of "slip sliding away" going on :)...this is one of our many upcharges that we get with customers. -
Ryan...that's not ice....looks to be just frost on the grass :)

Coress Extension Wands
newlook replied to PressurePros's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
This attachment would be like a sherpard's hook I would think? The majority of homes that we do have Spanish Tile on them and in the mornings those rooftops are like stepping into an ice skating rink. I make sure we harness up and everything but cut's down on the # of homes we can do until the sun dries up the roof tops. Single story homes are no problem but it can get interesting when you are on a 2 story and things are slippery as heck. -

Has anybody used the Coress for gutter cleaning? If so, how were the results? We get on the roofs and hit the gutters from the top but am rethinking this approach. Any advice would be most appreciated. -
Now that would be something CCPC :)
