  2. A fence resto

Haha Adrian man you spoiled complaining about too far a drive for some stain lol! My nearest bucket of stain is a 3 day UPS trip from Scott. Dont think I've ever been able to buy stain at brick and motor retail.

  4. Website Theft

Hey I stumbled across a company in Cinci Ohio that has stolen a good chunk of content from my website. My site has been up for about 2.5 years with the following text on my about us page: About Us I used CopyScape and found this guy here: .::. Deck Works USA .::. I spoke with the owner who said he would change it a while back, and I followed up with an email to the owner and his web design company with still no changes. What pisses me off is that he took it word for word and simply changed the company name and even replaced my name with his What kind of options do I have in trying to get him to remove the content? Other than being highly dishonest I don't know if there is anything being broken here. Anyone have problems with web content or photo theft in the past? What'd you do?
  5. Website Theft

Good for him for owning up and taking it all down
  6. Website Theft

Gosh theres gotta be at least a dozen companies photos on there. Why would anyone want to promote the work of other professional companies when there is no way they could ever achieve the same results. And this guy must have 45 employees, every picture has a different one lol
  7. Website Theft

Now thats how you clean wood!
  8. I picked up an extremely large PT deck about 10-18 years old (different sections) been done 5-6 times with TWP 200 California Cedar. Wood is remarkably great shape presumably a testament to someone actually religiously using a good oil over the lifespan of the structure. Little to no cracking, wood is smooth as sanded wood. It is not what I would consider dried out lumber by any means. I mistakenly originally thought the deck was done in the old 500 series but now that I have the scenario of using the 200 series on a deck with so many existing coats (I will be lightly stripping the floor to remove the buildup) is there any need to thin down the product for petter penetration? Given Scotts experience with the extended drying time combined with this particular deck that doesn't appear visually to be particularly porous and is limited to sun exposure I'm worried about the risk of a 5-7 day dry time.
  9. Watching too much tv for one.... Designing postcards and proposal folders, going overboard on the 1 or 2 estimates Ive been getting, filling out an information sheet on all past customer for easier reference, and getting bank statements entered in for tax time.
  10. What PSI for pre painting outside wall ?

you can still clean the home using traditional soft wash, the paint prep should normally be left to the painter to scrape and sand as they see fit for the application of whatever product they use
  11. What PSI for pre painting outside wall ?

Hey Richard, please go ahead and click on "settings" on the top right of the page here and go in and "edit signature" This is the section that appears below your posts to include your name and company information.
  12. help on a beach house bid

hot water on wood...no, and I would never want to find out what salt through my pump would do. You could use a percarb cleaner but theres no escaping having to spend some good money on chems to get this thing done right
  13. help on a beach house bid

Holy cow underneath all the upper decks as well....thats some of the worst washing their is. Soaking wet all day with chem and dirt landing all over you
  14. Thats huge I dont even think I could do it myself I'd probably have to pass
  15. Neat Desk / Neat Receipts

Still lovin' it! I'll be honest thought I'm glad I went buckwild on day one and scanned about 1000 receipts in. Whats neat is once you set the category for a certain vendor it remembers when the next one comes through and already fills it in. And for receipts that have logos up top instead of text that it can read, once you tell it the receipt is McDonalds or whatever, it remembers that too. You can even get it to recognize which credit card you used and have a unique name for that listed. Default it just says VISA but I have 4 of those so you have it read those last 4 digits and tell it which is which
  16. Never heard of Safe wash. Check out the FAQ here: http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item#faq_new_faq_item2 for more information on different cleaners.

  18. 2011 Resolutions......Are you brave enough?

Everything about me is already perfect :)
  19. Fence Restoration

We've had incredible results in NC....hot summers, high humidity, frequent rain, and this year even snow. No mildew issues
  20. Nice, seems like the Red's are always a huge portion of our calls, was popular at some point but nearly everybody wants it gone now a days
  21. Theres deck stripping and then theres SPF....I'll strip decks all day long....SPF jobs need a gas can and a lighter
  22. Doug, the problem solver name is the overarching product name and they have a wood cleaner, stripper and brightener in that set. The cleaner is basically bleach, nothing special just a huge markup.
  23. I'll tell you what either Dan has a much better formula than me or a lot more patience...haha I called him about an SPF job we ran into this summer tried everything I had but still ended up having to walk away. Props to Dan i think the only one to get that garbage off chemically
  24. Who is from North Carolina???

Only colder than you guys right now...normally we'd be in the 50s now. There's tons of pressure washing companies in NC especially Raleigh. Prices are lower than most everywhere else. Might work if you have a niche or a specialty but other than that...might be tough. I only do wood though so maybe some of the residential folks can chime in from NC
