  1. I would never want to live in an HOA community but part of the idea behind an HOA is to help protect the value of all the properties in the area. If all homes are kept up it means your house is worth more. Some are worse than others, but with no HOA at all your neighbors are free to do anything they want. Park cars in the front yard, paint their house pink, build a moat around the house, have 35 dogs, never mow their grass, etc, etc. That is an extreme example but it would be hard to sell your house if you lived next to that.
  2. Apply cleaner (percarb), let soak, wash off, brighten wood, let dry, sand, stain Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  3. You can strip it right away if you want. Oil based itll come off like nothing just rinse rinse beware itll be slippery like crazy Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  4. Types of Powerwashing you haven't done?

Never done a single housewash, driveway, concrete, commercial or anything other than wood.
  5. Decision Time

LLC cost me like 300 bucks or less...its all just a revenue generator for the state to put a couple letters behind the business name. When picking your business name, be sure to also consider what website URL you can find. Make sure you buy the URL right away if you pick a name and make sure the URL is available. I'm glad my business has the name of one of the cities we service, because I show up number one for any kind of related search with the city in it. I wish I had picked a larger city name to capitalize on the search traffic from those google searches
  6. Decision Time

Thats awesome man, starting young. I started as a sole proprietorship and was that way for 3 years. If you can start as llc thats great but first priority to me would be get general liability insurance and then start working. If you've got equipment and know how you are off to a good start. 7. Penofin

Have a couple customers who insist I use it on Ipe despite my suggestions otherwise so we do it every six months when it inevitably turns black. I personally wouldn't use it on anything else
  8. My guess is that most people are not interested in having the dock stained in the first place. I could be wrong but if they are all gray for the trouble and cost to clean and stain on a regular basis and the harsh environment of a saltwater dock, it may be accepted practice that they just rebuild them every 10 years. Very rarely do we stumble upon an untapped market, or at least one that someone else hasn't already tried.
  9. Anyone who has the guts to make a successful business with 100% wood (NOTHING ELSE) is a pro in my book. There are very very few of those around.
  10. There is much more to an org than hosting an event John. Much much more. Most of which has to happen first Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  11. No way you could run 800 feet of hose with the machines most of us run. sounds like a ton of work I would pass on that any day Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  12. Purple Power

Why do you need to "kick up" your housewash? Bleach and soap its pretty simple really Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  13. The 5800 is a great set up, you can put on a cart or mount on a trailer like we do and just run hose reel out
  14. I've never needed more than 200 feet except two or three times for residential. I prefer 2 100 foot lengths on both my reels, and I keep an extra 100 on the trailer. If it needs to longer I just couple the extra 100 on, or if the hose bursts or breaks I can replace the 100 foot section with my backup. You would hate to have a 400 foot hose break and not be able to repair it and have to buy a new one
  15. 2yr AC CS

I would never use an AC toner on hardwoods, of course it didn't last. That's why they have hardwood formula Mahogany and Amber stain
  16. 2yr AC CS

Looks great Tony, you can see it gets the heavy sun and still holding lot of pigment on the wood. No graying at all. If you get the maintenance job on it, you'll love how easy it recoats. I haven't been good at pushing maintenance but we've done some going on 3 years and it hardly takes any stain at all since that oil is still in the wood if you don't strip it. Really finishes up great on repeat applications
  17. If you are hauling around a dolly of chemicals for housewashing, walking back to the machine is about the last thing I would worry about. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  18. Downstream injector - 11 dollars. Only one hose to mess with. I for one don't even see how it's even a question any more these days
  19. Take the picture same time everyday and put a flag in the ground or rock so the photo is from the exact same angle each day
  20. If you keep your color options limited it is easy to keep stocked up. You need to try to the Armstrong Clark Mahogany on Ipe, really looks great
  21. Thats great to hear he did the right thing and took it down.
  22. I hope you get that joker shut down John, that is ridiculous copying. He even has pictures of your truck and employees...what an idiot
  23. HD-80 Precautions and help please

You can water and then cover the plants with some plastic if you are concerned. I would mix stronger than 3oz per gallon on a semi solid but do a test first. Keep a bottle of regular household vinegar around if you get any stripper on your skin you can use the vinegar to neutralize it. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
