So my guys were stripping a log home today and on the second floor there is a small addition. Well on that addition was paint with stain over it. The stain literally started to run off while applying the stripper but that's not the cool part. I mixed 1 gallon of F-18 at around 25-30 oz (weight) per gallon. The wall size is around 5t x 20l, by the time the stripper was done being applied (about 5 minutes) they started to wash from the starting point and the paint just melted off. Now I don't know what kind of paint it was so please don't take this as saying that F-18 will remove all paints but I will tell you this, you stand a 90% better chance removing paint with plain F-18 than with HD-80 and its Boost stuff.

Tony, How do you figure F-18 to cost more? It's the same price as HD-80 which I beleuve is $5 per pound. And just like you say your able to do with the HD at 4oz per gallon we do the same with the F-18 but with a shorter dwell time. And the HD needs a boost if you come across a stubborn stain and with the F-18 you just add more because it will desolve up to 32oz per gallon if needed. (which you shouldn't for stain)

Well it's funny how people get different results. I Guess we will just agree to disagree and leave it at that. OK I can't:) It's even funnier how every test I did with equal amounts of stripper F-18 Whipped HD-80's tail. In fact I have found that when using F-18 compaired to HD I only had to mix it at 6 oz per gallon and the HD at 8????? The reason F-18 is not as HOT as HD is yes there is a little less SH (I think) but its more than SH that strips. I guess that's why I always got more fuzzing when I use to us HD. It's funny how the dwell time for HD has always needed to be longer for me when mixed equal to other strippers. It's also funny how if HD was so good they had to come out with a boost to match other products?? Oh that's right since it won't desolve when mixed over 10 oz per gallon they must not of had a choice. Wait can mix mix F-18 stronger if needed? Why yes you can. Why is that you ask? Well it's because it's a better blend of chemicals and not just mainly SH with a cheap soap. And that brings up another point since it is gentler, when mixing it stronger you still don't get excessive fuzzing. When I striooed that paint the fuzzing was minimal. If we don't get rained out I will post a pic tomorrow or the next day. And yes I would rather spend 10 dollars on a gallon of stripper than have 4 guys taking the paint off by other means. Ok Tony I will bite. Lets say that F-18 needed to mixed at a rate of 10 oz per gallon for a 10 minute dwell time. Thats a cost of $3.20 per gallon. And HD at the same. Cost is the same with the both but here is the difference with my experiences (and most that have used both) HD will have to dwell for lets say 20 to 30 min., on the same job F-18 will nedd to dwell for maybe 10-15 min. if that with one aplication even if it dries. Now you have 2 men that you pay $10 per hr. Who will make more money off there employees? Who will be able to do mre jobs in a day? Who will spend less time detailing? Take a gues?? Yep that's right the Co. that uses F-18. Ok that's the end of the never ending pissing contest for me. YOu can reply but I won't :). I will say one more thing I don't care who's product it is if Russel, Steve, Bob, Espec, whoever has the best for my needs I will use it. So you can say I push the F-18 because I like Bob and that won't be true, I mean I like Bob but if his product sucked I would still say. See ya it's been a long day and I need to shower if I expect my wife to let me in bed tonight. :)

To Tony and All. Why are you waisting your time with such long dwell periods? Well I guess if you are using HD-80 you don't have a choice. Time is money and that's why I only use F-18. I can mix it as strong as 32oz (weight not volume) per gallon with very little mix not desolving. (like a table spoon or 2) Now if you mix it this strong be careful because it will be VERY HOT! And in all truthfullness F-18 really is a great all around product. I know people who love it for simple concrete cleaning to degreasing dumpster pads to cleaning roofs to stripping decks to stripping Log Homes shall I go on?? HD-80 had it's place in the maket until Bob at Pressure Tek came out with something 10 times better. I have stripped week old Sikkens Cetol 1 and 23 Plus in one shot with it at 16 oz per gallon with a dwell time of like 5 minutes. Try that with I dare to say any other stripper on the market today. Ok I'm done. :)

F-18 and paint mix 30oz (weight) per gallon. Most times it will come off. If it doesn't come off with F-18 than it definately won't do it because it won't mix stronger than 10 oz per gallon. If a SH base stripper won't work than you will need to get something made for Latex or whatever it is. P.S. To see if a stripper of any kind is working just do a scratch test.

Nat. Light tends to look a little creamy too.

The best bet would have to just started with F-18 and had been done with it the first time. To detail get yourself a variable speed buffer and a an Ozborn brush. The buffing pads are for the birds.

Mold.... Just bleach it

Hint...When covering vegitation don't use clear plastic. On a sunny day you will cook the plants.

it's a powder. Most call it oxiginated bleach. it works kinda like peroxide does on a cut.

I have used several strippers in alot of aplications and F-18 just simply out performs them all. I had to share these photo's. This house hase 3 very heavy coats of CWF on it. I mixed the the F-18 12 oz per gallon and let dwell for about 10-15 minutes before starting to wash with 500 psi/6 gpm. I thought I would have to strip this thing atleast 2 times but I was pleased to see this stuff just melt off and I only needed to apply stripper 1 time.

F-18 it and move on.

Just save the trouble and use F-18 @ 14 oz per gallon. Dwell for 15 min +/- keeping wet and spray it off with 500-1000 psi, brighten, detail stain, Check please. :)

If you are applying your chems with the soap nozzle that came with your unit how are you reaching the top of the walls? I suggest using a 0degree nozzle that will allow you to dray soap then take your pickup line out of your soap and rinse. Or you can get an x-jet or something like it.

I run a 7'x16' with an extended tongue. It has alot of space but lets face it you always need more. My trailer is a shop on wheels

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I would unless you can get big $$ for it. I have stripped a few painted decks. It can be a real nightmare. Give the people a rough cost but make sure you leave the quote openended and have them sign it. I had one that I threw everthing at that was available at the time and I would up power hand planeing and sanding the whole thing. Started out at a $900.00 job and ended up to be $1,700.

No won't be there. I doubt if I would go to one in Ral. either.

Beth and Rod, If you use F-18 at 6 oz or 8 oz it will work better than the HD. I know you guys have alot vested in the HD and I can definately respect that but pound for pound the F-18 will strip better than the HD. You can mix it stronger and let it dwell for a couple of extra minutes and it usually will lift every layer with only 1 application. I just did a log home with 4 heavy coats of CWF on it and only stripped it once. If I remember correctly I made a mix of about 12 oz to the gallon and let it dwell for about 10-15 minutes then rinsed with 500 psi. My 2 cents.

I must say I am partial to the F-18. Everyone has there favorites and mine is the F-18. Now I'm sure some will get their feathers ruffled but.... I have used them both and tested them both side by side along with others. Their base is the same SH but they are very different. The F-18 is better than the HD-80 because it can be mixed stronger than 10 oz to the gallon when needed. It doesn't need an adityive to make it stronger other than more product. The HD-80 will only mix up to like 10 oz to the gallon, more than that and it won't desolve for some reason. The F-18 has plenty of verticle cling were the HD needs an additive called hang time to do what the F-18 does with out it. They both have multiple uses. The F-18 strips better therefore you don't need to spend as much time on the job as you would if you were using HD. The F-18 is more cost effective too because at 6oz to the gallon it works just as good as the HD-80 at 8 oz per gallon. Now onto the EFC-38 and the F-10. The EFC-38 has a brightener in it where the F-10 doesn't. This is great for decks, it saves time which is great!! Now as far as how well they work... Both are good products and I use them both. I prefer the F-10 because it just works better. I primarily do log homes and doing a side by side test the F-10 out performs the Efc-38. You can see it attack the dirt and weathered wood. Now you do need to brighten seperately unless you add the acid yourself to the mix. I say get some samples and try them out. I have my favorite and for what I do the F series is a better buy. My 2 cents.

I would bid it by the sqft and add some for difficulty. Don't forget about the underside of the upper level.

I use an enclosed trailer setup. Right now my exhuast vents out the floor and I have 2 roof vents one of which has a fan blowing fresh air in. I will be addings some more fans soon. It gets a little hot in the trailer when I have both machines running. I have attached an old photo, I don't have the Burners any longer or all the chem tanks.

What I would like to do is charge a battery in my trailer using my truck. Can some one walk me through this please?
