  1. I usually start out with 6 oz per gal. and go up from there. I've come to be so used to the product and how it works I can usually tell how strong I need to mix it without doing a test spot. I guess my rule of thumb is if the stain is very warn I mix at 6oz per gal then if it is something cheep with a heavy coat I usually go to 8oz per gal. Now when I am stripping a log home I start at 10 oz per gal and apply with my m-5. This last one I did I mixed 12 oz per gallon and applied it with my shurflo. It was HOT!, the lance was even warm. I knew it was kicking butt when I rewet the sunny side and the pressure from my shurflo was pealing the stain off. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks! I will be finishing the house with RS Nat. Cedar. I would sell more WT but its hard to sell when you can't show the customer the colors. I too have some HD-80 and would say it is a decent product but in my experience the HD-80 needs more dwell time and coats to keep up with the F-18 just the opposite of your statement. To each there own :).
  3. Where in the World??

Garner, NC. Hey Beth would it be possible to make some sort of list that can be viewed by state?
  4. Door Hangers

I always have Keith do the layout then I send the file to a printer.
  5. Door Hangers

Thanks, Keith at Kbk Graphx does all my work. I don't remember the cost.
  6. Door Hangers

When we did more PW I did "door hangers" the funny thing is I only jung them on a door a few times. I mostly hung them on a mail box. I've attached a copy.
  7. I would assume that it has lead paint on it? If so are there any guid lines you need to follow? What type of stripper will you be using? If you like I can turn you on to a stripper that is suppose to work wonderfully on paint removal.
  8. Is there anyone out there that uses just Citric Acid to brighten? I know its slower than Oxalic and is safer but will the end result be the same?
  9. Citric Acid

That's what extreme does. (I think) That is what the Citolic is.
  10. Citric Acid

Thanks Tony! I have been thinking of a switch, maybe I'll get a little and see how I like it. What is a typical mix you use?
  11. X-Jet Hose found!

You should be able to get it at a local supply house cheaper than that. Or try US Plastics.
  12. I would do a light rewash with 6% bleach 1 gallon to 4 gallons of water with a dash of dish soap before I stained the house. Rinse really well, oxalic it then borate. Let it dry for a few days and stain stain stain.
  13. I'm sorry to hear of all your problems, unfortunately that's very common with log homes. I would hit it with oxalic 8oz to the gallon and roll with it. This should take care of any mild graying, blue spotting and black spots. Have you noticed if the black spots are around nails? It is possible that some stripper was left untouched by the previous contractor and that's why you are experiencing the black spots. Have you tested the pH of the run off water? The wood tux sold here should suite you fine.
  14. No Oxy-Con is a product by PermaChink. It's 99% oxalic. Dave feel free to give me a call. Those black spots could be several different things. One thing I do know is the Oxi-Con isn't a cleaner, it's a conditioner. If you have the complete Permachink suite you should have their precarb.
  15. Beth, I would like to ship some product to my brother inlaw to use on his deck but can't seem to find the rating needed for shipping on your msds sheets or in the ups records from previous shipments received from you. Do these products need special shipping precausions? If so could you fill me in so I can send them out. Thanks,
  16. Shipping Efc-38 and HD-80

    thanks for the reply
  17. Shipping Efc-38 and HD-80

So how about a reply?? I would like to get this out by the weekend.
  18. Looking for a hot box.

I vote on a whole new machine. What do you clean? 2600/2.5 isn't very much. Check out www.pressuretek.com
  19. Cleaning Copper

Does anyone know how to and or what to use for restoring copper? I have a customer that wants it as close to new again as possible. Thanks, Rob
  20. F-13 and Gutter Shock?

Tanks 1-12% 1-F-13 (I use this for my house wash, gutter cleaning, bare wood cleaner and fleet soap) 1-Oxalic 1- anything else I want to downstream.
  21. F-13 and Gutter Shock?

Alan , F-18 is for cleaning concrete like you said. It also does a great job at a few other things like deck stripping. F-18 is not a house washing chem. so you are right don't use it on a house! (well unless it's concrete.) Lance, I have an adjustable Suttner that is rated for 15:1. Although I don't use the adjuster on the injector for fine tuning it works well for an on off nob. This will sound bad but I never bother with true ratios when washing a house whether it be x-jettting or downstream injecting so I don't have an answer for you there. I use 20 gallon tanks for each of my chems. Each tank has 2 lines coming from it. (one for each machine) The line then goes to a home made distribution panel through the metering valve then onto the injector. I've attached a pic that will show this. The blue line you see is what I use for my shure flo/flowjet set up. P.S. if you want to downstream but need a stronger ratio it is possible to raise it with a shur flo type pump. If interested call Bob at Pressure tek for details and equipment list.
  22. F-13 and Gutter Shock?

Rodney, yes that is just what I told you to start out with. 8 oz per 5 gallons for the average x-jet ratio used and adjust from there. (let me know when you want more or call Bob at pressure tek.) PS check your PM
  23. bullet nozzle

Are you calling a 0 deg. a bullet nozzle?? Or might you be reffering to a nozzle that is rounded at the tip? (I think they might be made for kitchen exhaust cleaning) And yes Bob is Very knowledgeable, he also won't tell you something just to make a sale.
  24. F-13 and Gutter Shock?

This might change this thread but I'll give you my 2 cents averages times for me pulling up and away: Ranch with garage (1200-1700) 1 hr +/- this will depent on if the gutters are done to remove any blackness and if it has a large front porch with lots of spindles. 2 story w/ garage (2200-2600) 1.5 hr - 1.75 hr +/- if gutters add 20 min. (max.) this is also with a level lot. anything bigger 2 hrs + When I used the x-jet system add 1/2 hr to each.
  25. F-13 and Gutter Shock?

The F-13 is a potasuim hydroxide base not SH base. I stand corrected for some reason I thought, read or was told Gutter Shock is a Hidroxide base sorry. I too downstream and its great. I use 0 tips of varying sizes along with a unhooked x-jet or m5.
