  2. Happy Birthday, Reed!

  3. fence

Definitely use the HD80, behr can be a bear to get off, depends on how many coats, a suggestion on the hd80 is use full strength and let dwell for at least 10 to 15 minutes per coat. Then use as little pressure as possible and keep that tip 8" away. If it starts to fur up on you either reduce the pressure or back away a little more. The more you practice on that fence the better these replies will be understood. You will get the hang of it after a while.. As Beth said neutralize and don't skimp on the neutalizer. Getting late, Good luck, You can do it!!!! Reed

I have a piston pump sprayer, the deckster, works good, but for fences I use a pump up. I get good results and have developed a great technique in using the one that I have. Back to the original post by Ronnie. You have made the right decision in getting a unit with enough pressure should you ever need that much pressure. But you seldom will. I would recommend you get a dual lance wand so you can dial the pressure up and down as needed when you are washing. Having a fence of your own to "play" with is another good move. Better to develope your skills on your own fence than on a paying customer's and get into trouble. Beth, here, offers some great chems and sealer for your business. Each chemical that you use, no matter where you get them, have limitations and uses. Research and practice with them. Searching this site is one way to obtain information, but can be frustrating. If you can't find your answer by searching, post your question in the category it relates too, ie, wood, concrete etc. You will get some informed and expert responces. When you are starting a business as I understand you are, it takes time to build up your equipment arsenal and build up your technique. Start small and soon you will see and learn ways of doing the job in a more productive manner. Many of us here will be more that glad to answer your questions and hopefully help you provide better service. Again, good choice in doing your own fence first. Ask away. Reed
  5. New Years Resolutions

Big Improvement, smoked the T1 also. Should have done this last year, but as always, I just hate to spend that much money if something functioning and doesn't need replacement as yet. Now I needed the replacement and did it. The great part is I don't feel guilty. Reed
  6. Percarbs

One thing not mentioned above, even with the EFC38, you SHOULD brighten/neutralize afterwards. Though efc will brighten on its own accord, you can do yourself a favor and the customer too, by using a citrallic or oxallic after washing with efc38. Another helpful hint, if you a going to strip TWP, use the efc38 instead. It was formulated at the beginning to be a stripper for TWP. So you can save some $$ and not use a stripper, but use the EFC38 instead. And as always, brighten afterwards. Reed

  9. New Years Resolutions

Tony, I just went and DID IT. Bought a Sony VAIO 2.86 ghz with Pent 4 120gb hard drive. This thing is awesome. Circuit City gave me a sweet deal with over 400.00 in rebates. I upgraded to a 17" LCD Flat screen monitor. It rocks. Two bays, one cd-rw and the other is a DVD-rw Had t do it because my "dinosour" was loosing it's drive and was just too damn slow. I went to www.bandwidth.com and did a speed check, I was shocked on how well it rated. Happy New Year one and all, Reed

  13. I would still put the neutralizer/brighner on it. It will certainly help you in the long run. Plus it will get the deck ready for the readyseal by getting it on the acidic side. If I were doing it, I would flood it with brightner and may consider doing a light rinse to get any undissolve granules off the deck. Reed
  14. Hello to all

Welcome Aaron, glad you made it.
  15. Gav, it may be a bit pricey, but OxyClean can get it clean for ya if you are on a real tight schedule. Deckswood isn't the best i agree, but oxyclean maybe the only way to go, unless you consider using a mild bleach solution. Reed Also, ReadyProducts in Livingston TX is where ReadySeal is made. You may try and contact them via their website. I know they have cleaners, but if you are not pressed for time, get some efc38 from beth, can be there is just a few days I'm sure, Then follow it up with citrallic or I prefer oxallic acid for readyseal. Either way, leave the brightener on the deck. ReadySeal LOVES an acidic deck, so rinsing isn't necessary. Others do rinse, but I don't.

  17. A proud Papa's Soldier

Bulletproof, The liberation of the Iraqi people was a bold decision made by our government to stop the Saddam madness taking place. To put a halt to torture and genecide of innocent Iragi's. To put a damper into terrorist supporting countries and their dictators. To help stop the funding for terrorist groups. We took a bold stance and dared others to come along. France and Germany, which we knew all along, were not going to help, they were benefitting monetarily from Saddam. Well WAKE UP France, we know all about your dealings with Saddam and this was one of the facts used in dealing with Saddam. Did we need to do this? Your damn right we did. Now was the time to act inorder not to witness 9/11 elsewhere in this GREAT Country of ours. And we needed to do this NOW in order for other countries not to have to deal with what we did. GW did not do this in order to profit big business, he did it in order for the free world to benefit from removing a MADMAN. My 2 cents worth. Reed
  18. A proud Papa's Soldier
