  1. Please rate and subscribe. I am going to start a new power washing YouTube channel. I plan to have a new video up each week on different various aspects of this job. In my next video, I will be cleaning and sealing a deck from start to finish. Then I will be washing a house from start to finish. I think you guys will enjoy it. Thanks for your support.
  2. This may sound crazy

Has anyone ever tried using an airless sprayer to apply degreaser on gutters? I have a Graco 5900 hard mounted on a trailer with about 200 foot of hose on a hose reel. I have about 15 foot of extensions for the airless sprayer. I am tired of brushing on the gutter cleaner and dripping it everywhere. My biggest concern is what will the degreaser due to the internals of my pump and the packings inside. I am not sure if the alkaline would damage the stainless steel internals of the pump. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tom
  3. 3.5 vs 4.0

Your best bet for that motor would be 5.6 gpm at around 2500 psi...get the General TS2021 pump. Good luck.

Fredericksburg.com - Houses need a bath, too READY TO GO ON WASH DAY SOME THOUGHTS TO CONSIDER We were blindsided by our local paper yesterday with this artical. We ended up scheduling 15 jobs yesterday with no questions asked. Now if I can just figure out how to attach a link from this artical to my website. Beth Please?

Thanks to all, I really appreciate all your complements and support. So far we’ve scheduled over 20 house washes, just from that article. I fell very fortunate for this as I know many companies are hurting right now in this economy. Beth, how have you been? I haven’t spoke to you in awhile, I have been sorta living in hole the past 2 years due to the loss of my 16 year old son 6/10/2007. It’s been a slow recovery, but I think I’m back on my feet now. Thanks a million for the advice on the attachment. Do you mind if I call you? I may be doing some more work on the web site.
  6. Decker Stays on the Truck

Thanks Beth, all is well here. I hope the same for you. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
  7. Decker Stays on the Truck

What I do is run a gas powered Graco 5900 paint sprayer. You can run 4 250' hoses and still mantain a nice even flow. I know it sounds like over kill but it works great and you can sometimes find these on ebay for pretty cheap. Just mount the sprayer to your rig and forget about it. The only thing you have to take to your deck is a brush for back brushing.
  8. Downstreaming Question..

You should sorten your hose to 150'
  9. Mating two pressure washers.

Make sure you are using at least a number 10 nozzle. If you're using the number 4's, then one of the unlouders might not come out of bypass. One thing I would suggest; buy you an unlouder like the 2140 green spring, they have two inlets and are rated at 21 gpm, and tie both machines into that one unlouder....
  10. I've got some downstream questions

Try shortning your hose to 150'....200' is too much back pressure for you downstream to work properly. If you have a burner make sure the downstreamer is after the burner. Other things may come into to play but I would try that first.
  11. Bleach and Sodium hydroxide

I bet it's a percarb..that's what it sounds like to me.
  12. No such thing as a "free" lunch

Oh yea, gotta love spring....we're so full of energy, the weather's nice, Nascar's back, and we start making money again. It's all good until the humidity kicks in around July....then we're tired and want a break.
  13. No such thing as a "free" lunch

I here you about the snow. As you know, I'm just south of you. I've been playing all morning. Anyways, you're right there's nothing free for us, except for maybe the catalogs that come in the mail. That cost the suppliers money. However, it's a nessary evil, it's the only way them to markit their supplies. This website's free to all of us. I don't learn much from it because i have been in business now for almost 10 years and have spent 100's of hours studing, but it does keep me interested in my job as a professional pressure washer. It is important to stay interested, because as Donald Trump said "It is important for you love your job in order to be sucessfull"
  14. No such thing as a "free" lunch

All my estimates are over the phone. Saves more time and money than I loose on an under bid. My prices are on my web site. Most customers just call and say "I want to shedual to have my house washed" no questions asked.
  15. No such thing as a "free" lunch

Well, when I wash a house for $250 and then clean the sidewalks and maybe a patio at no extra charge, it's free to my customers. What do I get out of it? Hopefully a repeat customer who is happy with my work and will tell their friends about us. I believe in making my customers feel like they are the ones who made out on the deal, not my company.
  16. Racks SS

I am asuming the concrete cleaner is an acid. You don't want the concrete cleaner & the 12% to end up in the same place on the pan. I would make sure you use some sort of divider between the two.
  17. Vertical hot box ???

Has anybody tried laying a vertical hot box down horizontal? I would like to mount my hot box on top of my pressure washers frame. I have a welder that could easly do this project for me but i don't know if the internals are the same for both vertical and horizontals. I have two hot box units for 8 gpm. They are taller than your usual 5 gpm. and the welds that hold the coils in place keep breaking. I stopped using both burners for safty reasons. What if a 400 lb. coil came off my trailer at 65 mph? Yea, it's a scary thought. Anyways, niether ones doing me anygood just sitting around, so i have to either weld some L brackits to the outside stainless steal and then bolt it to the base, or just lay them flat. I would appriciate any input from someone who knows alot about the internals and design of both types of hot boxes.
  18. Vertical hot box ???

Thanks Russ I'll give it a try and see what happens.
  19. more gpm

Mike, I apoligize for calling you an idiot. I have been stressing the last few weeks trying to get things ready for the upcoming season. Maybe I misread your post, but I read it as being sarcastic and insulting. Maybe you were just having fun. If I misread this, then I am very sorry for my earlier post.
  20. more gpm

Yea, you're right. I don't have time for idiots.
  21. a good hot water skid

On jobs where the water supply is low, all you have to do is go down to a smaller tip size and that will cut you flow down.
  22. more gpm

Soap on, soap off, twice the volume, half the time. Plus your chemicals shot twice as far. My 20 tips put out about 1000 psi. A 40 tip pulls chemicals from a down stream. Higher volume also rinses windows alot better.
  23. more gpm

You could just tie both machines into one unlaoder and have 26hp @ 8 GPM. Then you need to raise you tip size up to an 8 or 10. It will cut you cleaning time in half. Keep some 20 size tips handy for light rinsing.
  24. Check this out

I need to get down to my brothers and take a pic of his deck. About 2 years ago, (my dad was working for me at the time sealing decks) I let my dad use my airless to seal my brothers deck. My brother bought the Wolmens F&P oil based stain for his deck. I had raincoat cedar water based in the lines of my airless, so as a result, there is one section of the rails where he sprayed the raincoat. The F&P is worn and faded and the raincoat still looks good. I used the raincoat on own deck and let me tell you, there isn't much that will repell water like this stuff. The water will not lay down at all for at least a year. You can go out after a rain and sweep the beads of water off the deck and it will be compleatly dry after words.
  25. Trailer Specs

I would highly recomend the Big Tex 60sp trailer. It is is very well made with tubing in the top rails. The only down fall is they only use 2" pine on the floor and not the pressure treated pine. I'm in the process of replacing the floor on mine now. Their web site is bigtextrailers.com
