On a good downstreamer you will get 10-1 to 15-1 depending on your setup and GPM.

You may be a pressure cleaner if on the first day of spring all you think about is the first day of winter is not far off. -

If you have Orings hanging on your tripometer reset button in your truck you may be a pressure cleaner. -
You could have debris in the check valves

Jon, If you are running your bypass back to your tank and dumping it back in through the top without a lead-in hose the water will hit the surface and cause air bubbles in the tank this problem is worse when the tank gets low.

James, I can relate. My daughter Faith has autism & epilepsy the are a lot a programs to help her. A year ago they lumped alot of different disorders in to one category called autism spectrum disorder and it became more difficult to get the services Faith needs, it's a constant fight with the school board and state to get the services Faith needs.

I would recommend casters and a smaller diameter. Whisper Wash Ultra Clean has casters and a 19" diameter cover.

My wife and I worked together pressure cleaning for 5 years before we had our daughter Faith. It was the best that we ever got along with each other.

My father has been self employed his whole life, so that is how I was raised. It does not scare me at all to be self employed. The way I see it if you have a full time job you are employed by someone who is self employed why should you let your drive and ideas make them money. No matter how much you are compensated you could make more on your own.

If you have the fuel pressure backed all the way out then do what Russ suggested and undo the hex around the adujustment screw and unstick the plunger. -
Burner is smoking ALOT!!!!!!
R. Williamson replied to JBenson's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
My guess is your burner slowly built up the soot till it could not take anymore and clogged it, probably due to an incorrect mixture. Using diesel after it ran the kero the air / fuel mixture got worse. You need to pull the coil out take the insulation off and use a shop vac to get as much soot out as possible then pressure wash the rest out (prepare to get filthy). What you think is melted is not. This is a upright burner from what I can tell from the pics. corrosion thinned the metal and the weight of the coil curled the metal up. Go to a fab shop after it is cleaned and have them roll you a ring and weld it in place around the bottom, don't let them go crazy on the weld it just needs about (6) 1 inch long welds around the circumference. Reassemble with a complete tune up kit and if the old insulation is not usable that to. -

I have also seen fuel nozzles loosen causing them to smoke like crazy. -
Burner is smoking ALOT!!!!!!
R. Williamson replied to JBenson's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The air band all the way open creates the least amount of smoke. Try backing out the fuel pressure screw located on the fuel pump. Where there any symptoms leading up to this problem to help us troubleshoot the problem? -
I was pondering a name for my new cherry scented house wash for the last few weeks, but I finally decided on "Simple Cherry". I will let everyone know when I'm ready to launch it full scale.

using PW battery for Shurflo
R. Williamson replied to dgold42's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
What is the amp output of your engine? What is the amp draw of the Shurflo? What size amp battery does your pressure washer have? Is this a hot water washer? If yes is the burner 12 volt or 115 volt? -
#3's with a 25 degree pattern for your Big Guy and if the 19" is a Classic its the same.

When and if you get the screws out put anti-seize on the threads before putting them back in, it will help in the future.

Downstreaming on high volume machines
R. Williamson replied to VanDiesel99's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
When your line psi drops the Shurflo turns on. When the lines up to pressure the Shurflo cannot overcome the pressure and shuts off. When the pressure switch on the Shurflo shut off it pulls no amps from the battery. The pressure from the Shurflo weakens the spring that holds the ball off the inlet hole of the injector causing the spring to collapse. -
Downstreaming on high volume machines
R. Williamson replied to VanDiesel99's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
When downstreaming it is the pressure differential on each side of the injector that creates the draw, the greater the difference the more draw until the capacity of the draw inlet of the injector is reached. When Mel uses a 3-5 gallon injector (2.1mm orifice) he increases the pressure on the pump side, which proportionally reduces the pressure on the discharge side of the injector increasing his draw rate, but reducing gpm to the discharge nozzle. When downstreaming with a pump that produces more than 6 gpm with 3/8 id pressure hose this situation gets worse because of the id of the hose starts to restrict the flow. You either have to increase the inside diameter of your hose to 1/2" or do Mel's trick. When I was a contract cleaner I would plumb a Shur-flo pump into the injector pickup line to compensate, this method quickly kills injectors, but with the speed of chemical application it more than paid for the once a month injector cost.
