Rob,
I see your points. But any measures you can take to limit your exposure is a good thing.
A couple of years ago I had a pump sprayer filled with a mixture of soduim hydroxide. I thought I had relieved the pressure from the container. Unscrewed the top and caustic blew all over my eyes, face, hair, clothes.
You do not know when a accident will happen, that is why you need to wear safety gear. I am guilty myself of not taking every precaution that I should, but would never tell anyone else not to.

If your hose is bad ? You can buy the 3/8" now and you will have extra when you can afford a commercial grade pressure washer.
-
(1) Yes it can. If you can post a picture of the connection to the pump and one of the connection to the gun. We can figure out what adapters you will need. Then Beth can supply you with the needed parts.
(2) With the 3/8" hose it will not function any different than what it does now.

When a pressure type unloader is set to high pressure in your hose can spike up when in bypass and cause hoses to blow. Is this steel wire braid hose or hobby hose? What brand is the pressure washer?

Point taken Tony. My point is mine should not be singled out. Any affective chemical has its down side. Caution should be taken with any chemical you use. Even though this was developed as a truck wash it is safe to use on homes. The dilution ratio to clean homes is a lot less than it is to clean trucks.
Do you let your customers kids and pets run around you when you wash a house?
What about when you strip a with deck sodium hydroxide. Was sodium hydroxide developed just for decks?
There are studies that have linked chlorine to cancer, it is on the United Nations banned chemical list. Is this safe for pets and children. Think about it.

Safety is important ! Tony, a lot of the house wash mixes have hazardous chemicals in them.
What is wrong with a chemical that is multitasking?

John,
You can change the nozzle then adjust the unloader so it bypasses at 3000 PSI.

When I was researching swivels for the Bad Boy, I contacted Deublin and they said the most common used swivel by surfacer manufactures are the 927 series. They are rated at what Alan has said. They do have a swivel that will flow 10 GPM but my cost is
$ 1400.00. Why other manufactures advertize more is beyond me. I guess it is the same type of advertizing some use when they state the size of a surfacer and they measure the body diameter and not the actual cut path.

My wife and I will be coming to San Jaun Capistrano in December to see her aunt. I will bring a surfacer for you to play with. It will give you something to look forward to.
How far is Chino Hills from the roundtable meeting, I have a customer thier that may want to come. He can bring his Bad Boy.

Whitco is one of my suppliers. They got their phones back up today and I talked to them. It is a complete loss. They are trying to find a new building now. They said they should be back up in six months. They are great people with great products.

I am driving to Beth's roundtable, its a 9 hour drive. California is a bit longer of a drive.
How about a Bad Boy for you and Jon to share ?
Robert

If you and Alan pay the airfare you have a deal.
With how cold it is here rite now, California sounds pretty good!
Let me know and I will pack my bags.

Beth, you can count me in for your roundtable.
I will unveil new Bad Boy 30" to the world. I will disassemble both the Bad Boy's swivel and a Dueblin to show a quality comparison. Everyone can see the quick release handle and the new filter system.
I look forward to meeting everyone !

If anyone is interested in getting together in N.E. Ohio, post here or give me a call. I'm sure we can get something going.
I would not even mind driving to Toledo, to where some of the Michigan people could come.

We bought that surfacer with the money we recieved as a wedding present.
She was so blinded by love she did not mind!
That picture was taken 8 years ago. A year before the first surfacer that I built.

Ron, When you upstream and you return the bypass into the tank and do not have a on/off valve you will get soap in your feed tank, because you are injecting chemical into the inlet side of the pump.
When you downstream this is not a issue, because you are injecting chemical on the high pressure side not the intake side. When the pump is in the bypass mode it does not pull chemical.

I changed to XP Pro 6 Months ago. It is by far the smoothest operating system Microsoft has put out.
I may have to get rid of my Bill Gates punching bag.

R & L offers free liftgate service on the trucks. So you can at least get it on the ground.
