Hey guys, I have a pink stucco house with a lot of bird crap on the stucco walls. The areas are about 40' high. I am trying to avoid climbing a 40' ladder to brush the areas. Would a normal chlorine, soap, water mix. work for this? The bird crap is heavy. Thanks! Mark Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Freeport, Fl.

Anyone have a disclaimer they would be willing to share? I would like to protect myself from liability from poor construction, painting, etc. I had a situation with paint turning color. It was a beach house, and the paint seemed to be oxidizing. Do any of you guarantee that no plants/greenery will be harmed from the solutions? I have a lady who is angry about 1 fern dying. Would a disclaimer cover plants? Anything would be helpful. Thanks, Mark Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Freeport, Fl.

I need a new telescoping wand-- 24 foot length. One that will not spin or close when the trigger is depressed. Any recommendations? Thanks, Mark Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Freeport, Fl.

I will be washing a home which has white painted wood trim and pink painted hardi plank siding. I am concerned my downstreamed solution of 10% chlorine and simple cherry will fade or streak the pink siding. Someone mentioned to me chlorine may fade reddish colors. If so, what could I use in place of chlorine to remove mildew from the surfaces? Any advice? Thanks- have a great New Year! Mark Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Miramar Beach, Fl.

Hi. Need some technical advice. My burner will not come on. I have a full tank of diesel. Checked the reset button on the genrator-ok. When I flip the switch, I can hear the sound of the engine change slightly- I guess that means it is not the switch. Any advice as to what could be happening. No repair shops near my location. Cleaning a restuarant deck
cwarrior posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hi. Looking for some advice. Asked to clean the surface of a wood deck of an outdoor restuarant. Heavy grime and and residue from foot traffic. No mildew or algae. What chemical can I use to loosen this oily residue and not hurt the wood? Thanks! Mark Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. -

Is there a sodium hydroxide cleaner at Home Depot or Lowe's you can recommend? I am short on time. Thanks! Mark Shoreline Cleaning Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. -
Need to wash a beach house. Overhang and all trim is painted dark brown. There is a white film/deposit on the surfaces- rafters, shutters, etc. I believe it is salt deposits. Not sure. I've noticed many house with the same film. Am I right about what this film is, and what can be used to remove it? Also, many of the house on the beach with white painted surfaces have a slight tan/yellowish tint. Is this caused by salt, sand, or what? This stuff does not come off with normal chlrine, soap solution. Thanks! Mark Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing

I am looking for some help with the x-jet: - I use a 3500psi, 5 gpm unit- The x-jet sucks up a lot of chemical. I use 1.5 gal of 10% chlorine, liquid soap, and 4 gal water in my mixture. Shouls I try using a proportioner to reduce the amount of mixture I use? Which one should I use? - I also have a 4 gpm, 3500 psi unit. Which size orifice should I use when using this unit- 9 or 13? - My M-5 x-jet will nit close all the way when trying to spray at close range. Can it be fixed? Thanks! Mark Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.

Hi. I am looking for some advice on a situation that occured today. I was pressure washing a house to remove mildew. The house had royal blue painted siding (hardiplank I think) and white trim- overhang, etc. I used a mixture of 1.5 gal of 10% chlorine, liquid detergent, and 4 gal water. I applied with an x-jet. The white trim looked great; however, the blue siding lost its color and became an aqua green color. Also had areas that were spotty green. I have been doing this 9 years and never had this happen. Did I let it dwell too long, too strong of mixture? I called a paint retailer and they said the paint was probably breaking down and oxidizing. I spoke with the customer before washing the entire house and he said to proceed. Any insight? THanks! Mark Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.

Yes, I saw it and it was a different color. I spoke with another pw contractor in my area and a paint retailer who both said the paint was oxidizing and breaking down. Mark Santa Rosa Beach. Fl

Been using x-jet for about 8 years. Considering trying downstreaming again. Stopped downstreaming years ago- could not get good concentration of chemicals on surfaces, use a variable wand which means I have to run back to the trailer constantly, and sometimes soap could not be drawn due to size and length of hose. If I could find a more efficient manner to apply chemicals, I would consider trying it. Also, I will say some out there seem to make this line of work more complicated than it really is. My theory is keep it simple. I spent a lot of money trying to have the best looking and highest quality rig and equipment. I know of a guy who makes a good living with a mediocre set up and does great work. He did not go overboard trying to look the best. He doesn't have a great looking rig, hot water unit, or a great surface cleaner. But, he does great work, is reliable, honest, and gets top dollar for his services. I do not waste my time trying to figure out ratios, draw rates, etc. I get out there, bust my ass, give great customer service, do quality work, and am properly compensated. All I am saying is keep it simple. Mark Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. Shoreline Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing

Need to wash a house next week. New construction. All painted wood. Mostly saw dust, dirt, and a very few spots of mildew. What chemical do you recommend for this job? Would you just rinse the dusty areas with water? I need something to buy locally for time purposes. Thanks! Mark Santa Rosa Beach, FL

I have a Landa Water Jet. Is it normal for water to weep from the bottom of the hub? I weeps with hot and cold water. How do I know if it is an o-ring or the spinner? If it is an o-ring, is it difficult to change? Thanks! Mark Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.

Anyone recommend a quality soap for house washing that can combined with sodium hypochlorite? I am looking for a soap that will not leave a difficult to remove film on the glass if not rinsed off quickly. I use emulsifier, but ocassionaly I do not rinse the glass quick enough. I have to go and buff out the film/soap residue. Thanks! Mark
