The new AsQ needs a few months of weathering as opposed to the old stuff which you just had to wait for the moisture to reach 15%. The new stuff takes sealer slowly. We did two coats on different days and it took much oil.

The problem is not your solution. It's the age of the wood. The areas that are grey have not degraded enough to come off. Increasing your solution will cause more problems . Just buff and u will be OK. I just finished a 1 year old PT and had minor buffing to do. Many years ago I had sort of a chart on what to expect with regards to Pt as it ages . I don't know what BB it's on ? I have no idea what Dan is talking about ?

Is this a Vaudeville act or Slap Stick comedy ?

Terry, My business is predicated on referrals, networking and future maintenance. Yesterday and today(this morning) I have gotten 4 jobs over the phone from referrals. Superior knowledge on the subject matter , problem solving and an understanding of what to expect down the road concerning maintenance and most important being Handsome !! LOL... I let the work and the experience of dealing with my company speak for it's self ....

Doesn't look like you removed all the residue from the mold. Lets do it one more time ! But that is from a photo point of view . Dan can you wipe it off or is it a stain in the siding?
-
Maybe my computer screen is dirty ? Dan, are the white spots evenly spaced and consistent ?
-
Dan, those are the nail heads behind the siding. Over the years the combination of heat, poor workmanship, and the siding resting on the nail heads causes the Dreaded white poke a dot house syndrome or House Measles . It will go away in 3 to 6 months as the oxidation will cover it over

The basics with wood care is to get a reputation and an understanding of how to care for wood. You can use a terrible sealer and be a good businessman and go to a house every 2 years and collect a check and by the 4th time the customer will change. It took the home owner 8 years to figure out there was crap on there deck. There's a difference in Sealing a deck and Preserving wood for longevity. -

A week of rain!
James replied to jeffex11's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Guy's, this isn't anything compared to last year for me. Try 3 straight months of rain then start to complain. This is why I hate wood care and I hate the 4 new decks I picked up over the weekend and the 3 I have waiting to be sealed. LOL. Yesterday, the weather MAN said; the rain was only going to graze the coast of CT. So I went to an area an hour North and it poured most of the day . -
keeping debree off drive while sealing question?
James replied to a68cudas's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Have some one ahead of you blowing it off while you seal. Then there is nothing you can do if stuff lands on it after! -
Find the chemical companies in your area who distribute to the pool companies and find out there min orders. I am the the smallest account at where I buy and they might not do it again? I think it cost more to process my order and load it on my truck....LOL

Strip Sikkens Deck base
James replied to RSuds's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
did you try stripper cream ? The temp's outside have not been conducive for difficult stripping. Once it hits the 70's and 80's stripping is easier. -

A product like the clear RS bodes well on composites. It enhances the color and keeps the moisture out. A product that has a drying oil feature will not work well on composites . Products with silicones in them work well on composites. -
Proper Use of a Floor Sander
James replied to Gutter Squad's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
There are many ways to use floor machines. From the weight of the machine to the type of pads and the type of wood its used on. Soft or hard. -

Ipe' stain shoot out
James replied to RPetry's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I would not sand anything on new Ipe or Camaru. I would not beat the crap out of it with Noah. Just clean and brighten. The wood that soaks up the RS will be sanded off. -
Add some Dish washing detergent Calgon to your mix. It will help and brush the glass that will help also. The Acid thing will help also that was mentioned above.

One Year Old TWP Stain
James replied to Scott Paul's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
The 200 series is to thick ( very high solid content) for Ipe. So it was a bad choice for a deck thats only a couple of months old. The wood couldn't absorb the oil so it washed away. So they should of cut the oil to reduce the solid content or use the 100 series. The 200 series is even a little to high in solids for a cedar decks. 60 to 70 percent works better. The 200 is great for old PT, cedar shakes and very very old cedar. If you have trouble with is drying out . Dip a rag in some spirits and push it with a broom over the floor boards and this will help dry it out. -
And the best dressed wood stain manufacture award goes to Jake Clark!!
James replied to MMI Enterprises's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Kevin, can you translate that into English ? Linseed is a drying oil.
