  1. Attacking the Village Idiot?

The Internet is made up of a diverse group of individuals and characters. Some use it for information , some for amusement and some for both. I just got 3 jobs all Attorney's and Ipe over the phone. Because of my conversations on the boards with Ken and Russel. These where funny phone calls. I might have to pick up the pace on my constructive criticism . Good for Marketing!!!!
  2. I use plastic and card board. That is a good site..
  3. I have a 75 pound and a 130LB . The 75 is 13 or 15 inch the 130 is 17 inches for the driver. I use different types of 3m course pads depending if is soft or hard wood
  4. I've been using one for a few years. Soft woods are much easier to do than Hard wood. Cupping on 6 inch Hard woods come into play and become an issue.
  5. I thought the glove went to Russel by mistake and he was suppose to ship it to me? Then it got lost with Ken's Woodtoxic order.
  6. Doug, that is normal. After the initial instillation of Ipe it will loose it's color at the surface(about a year) and look dark when wet. You have to use mechanical means to achieve other results.
  7. Worked on two decks today VOC compliant 8 years old both in perfect condition.
  8. 10 Reasons Why We Love Ready Seal

I wood not use Woodtux by it's self on MahogKnee
  9. This is perhaps the most pointless thread I've contributed too. Please keep it going !!
  10. I've stripped many solids getting 80 to 90 % off. Depending on the color that was down it blends in to the scape of things after putting down RS in a month of two. It's in the first week or so that it's noticeable and dissipates as the product cures.
  11. Tell them to use Ipe' an let it gray. Wash it once a year. Much better than Composites.
  12. Ordering From Eaco Chem?

They sell direct . Call the number on their web site I talk to them today.
  13. I just wish for the use of phowl Liangwitch.
  14. You can spell it breathe or breath. Ones a nown the other a vbre. This is funny thread! I can relate to it because I can not write or spell but I win at Scrabble ?
  15. Can you price to High?

Usually if I price too high the job is too difficult and not worth it! I also sometimes get those job ( 3 on the books) and do not want to do them. Be fair and build trust!
  16. Use the solution out of the bucket with a brush. You need a much stronger solution and its not 100%.
  17. Strip the finish off and then strip it again ( burn the wood). Another method is stripping the deck and letting it weather for 6 months to a year. It also depends on what sealer your going to use.
  18. Pealing Stain

Sounds like a bad dream that could turn into a Nightmare !!
  19. Looks like you didn't remove all the severe mold that still on the Deck ?
  20. Has anybody found these to be difficult to get rid of the mold. It seems that mold get absorbed into the vinyl. Also this product oxidizes very fast. I take care of two house that had this products put on ( very $$$) ) and I find it to be a Pain in the Donkey.
  21. 2008 Sealer Poll

There are many Regionalised stains with no internet presence and there are internet stains with no other presence. I was just sent a bunch of stuff for being in a magazine article. I just did a small cedar job with Armstrong. It came out very nice. Very good customer service. I have jobs picked out for the product. It fills a need I need filled.
  22. If you want to learn correctly do not down stream until you known your stuff. Penofin is pretty easy to strip so this may tell you something about DSTreming. So don't do it until u no about it! Capeesh......
  23. Woodrich vs. Woodtux

Dan, why go back 3 times? Let the wood sit and go back once. Timber oil won't do anything unless the wood has aged either. It depends on the product to how long one must wait . Understanding each sealer will go along way in helping understanding weathering of wood. Which is misunderstood?
