My long term goal is to get through a year without health problems . I guess that is short term. So my goals have completely changed over the last 10 years because of bad luck and freak health issues. I am one year away from getting back on track with my original goal of having a very highend service company. That includes marble restoration (winters) which puts me into a different league for pressure washing and woodcare . I have laid all the ground work for this transformation. Traning , equipment ect.... If I don't make it in the next three months I will be out of business. It's that simple

Help with hard to strip deck
James replied to Curb Appeal's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
What temp was it out side? strippers do not work well under 60 degrees. Tommy wax is a pain sometimes when over applied. Sometime I use heat to take a layer off then apply the stripper. -
I'm restoring a marble vanity and sealing some granite counter tops. Still have issues from heart surgery. Today quoted a house in 800k hood. The guy built the hood, got the job and he is sorta like head of maint. for the owners.5 more to come 550 each. I start off with about 100000 sqft of wood maint and house washes and pools are included in there.Referals for wood starting to come in from a network of deck builders who finished projects over last fall and winter.

why the heck do you send 2 people to do a 1 man job?!
James replied to Jarrod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Most people in business have ego's. Then there are the big ego's thinking their self worth is most important. This usually turns into egomaniacalism(Blood Pressure Killers). Then there are business people who are character's and have big egos. I think this set represents the pressure cleaning field best. People who become specalist in certain area's of interest stay small and get well known for what they do. Sir James of Knowledgewood -
This one of my hobbies that has turn into a labor of" Love and Spirits". I have to say it comes out very intoxicating (great). This process is a great joy for the people envolved and for our family and friends who get a sip. Each year we get more creative and cocky, the wine gets better!! The passion associated with wine making is unique and you become part of a brotherhood like woodcare. Salute'!!!

How about"Charlie'S Wood Angels" and three babes show up to do woodycare!! I can see the outfits now......... and the process !!

I think I have some pretty good label shots for the bottles.! One shot is the stems and the other is the cellar with the goods in" Tommy Johns". The process takes a year and starts over. Plans are already in the works. During the year there are Rackings which is a process of filtering the wine ( for lack of a better word). About a 130 gallons......

Once you start doing Big decks 2 to 3 k its hard to go back. Give me a nice cedar house about 6 to 8 k, prep 2 to3 days ,seal 2 days, clean up 1 day, 2 guy's and 1 day to admire work having drinks with customer. I take care of 20 decks 15 by 15 all in same hood second level with white trim and spindles. Pain in the my hIneass. -
Still having stamina issue's maybe May? I cleaned some Granite counter tops and sealing with new machine. I have a marble vanity to restore next week. I most likely will go in this direction until I have more stamina. Very cool machine!!

Cedar deck with aluminum Spindles
James replied to krpalex's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I use F18, Hd8o and fast finish remover. I do block the spindles with card board as I'm spraying to limit the stripper going on. If the spindles are real chaulky stripping would be an issue. I haven't seen this problem yet. -
Another WTW Job

James replied to krpalex's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I ve done a few and haven't had an issue. I pre-wet and kept them wet. I thought about spraying with Rain-X or WD-40. -

Tony I've been at a job where the Composite cleaner didn't work. For a composite deck builder.
