James replied to jnoden's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Before you choose what type of product you use. You need to know what it takes to make wood last and study that. -

give them two prices one just cleaning with bleach to get rid of the mildew and to doing the per-carbs- When using the bleach for the whole house keep the solution the same all the time( measured). Looks like they want a slam bang job. Sell'ers don't spend if they do it's a cover up! -
I think it depends on your pump more ?

Mike try bleach on that area first. Looks like mildew. The black is on the gutter not the down spout.

Cabot's throws an offering into the ring
James replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Tony i agree 100%. People who use these products I don't think have a firm grip on what it takes to preserve wood. I don't let marketing or new products dictate what I do. No new film forming product will out preform a penitrating oil (Ready Seal',TWP, ABR, Grey Away). These products are a sure bet for longevity and ease for re-application. -
She's Taking over the Grime scene. Or you came out with a breath mint called " Bad Beth " or you came out with a new wood and body oil all in one called " Extra -Celeste-ual " - Slogon ' what's good for wood is good for your woody.

You don't see many pressure cleaner's over 50. The older you get the better you have to maintain your body for this biz.

Two tone or NOT two tone....
James replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Ryan the first finish is the most important. Ask your self what do you want your deck to look like in 5 or 10 years with out problems. -
I do what i can starting in march.

Ask your self what is the best treatment for the wood ? These one day sealers are scheme's. Who's it benifiting ? Two times this year Up aganst Cabots and sikkin ( they had reps ther) already being used on the projects. I showed them a better way to treat wood. And asked them how do you want your decks and garages to look in 10 years ? who here has seen a deck after its been done 4 or 5 times with assuy sap fluid ? Its very difficult to strip . What is the process of a one day wet product when it has to be redone ? do you have to use a different product ? Do you think you would have a good feeling and you did a quality job using a one day product ? -
getting rid of moss on wood siding
James replied to Christopher's question in Residential Pressure Washing
First you have to blow off the moss . Then attack the root problem. -

Ct is the tax state-Each town has their own car tax and property tax. I pay about 3000k a year for 2 vans and a mini van. Plus about 6000k for house. Add all the other stuff insur. medical ect.................................. It sucks in a fun way I think ?

I restored a cedar chair and brought one half cleaned and weathered. I called one of my cust. that I knew had these in their back yard. People at the show wanted to buy the one I restored.

Has anyone seen this?
James replied to seymore's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Composite is huge around here ( Ct ) . There are many different products to choose from now. Marketing is big. High end woods are also big. The problem with these is nobody seems to know how to take care of them. Except of course me ?? LOL. I wish the cedar I see in the photo's from the mid-west was used here. The cedar I run into is very difficult to work with. -
