    Did you get the finish off ? Some times if there is still a finish on there you are getting a reading below the finish . So the sealer is still working. Or just change the freaking battery before you turn on the computor..LOL....

  10. 3 to 4 on verticals and depends on the client. I use some ABR stuff mostly RS. ABR get "s to dirty and moldy. It has mineral oil in it. But as for restoring an old deck there is nothing better . I might use it first then switch to RS the next year. This year is going great getting jobs I don't have to go quote!!!!!!
  11. There are some out there all ready. ABR has a product for damp wood. Ive used it on a couple of decks where the moisture content didn't go under 20%. Also when I do maint. I seal the same day. Been doing it for 8 years now. LOL >. Did 3 decks today.....

    You can buy TSP that is enviro friendly at your hardware store. Add it with bleach and soap ( DECK CLEANER )

  14. LeT your work and knowledge speak for its self. I don't use a contract and I do some bigwood jobs for deep pocket people. And I use BLEACH. I jot down the quote on the back of a pizza box. The smell of the pizza gets me some work. This aroma marketing works!!!!

    I don't mask or use tape when stripping. I will block an area with card board or something. I want to be able to rinse. I'm always rinsing down ajacent areas. Tape holds the stripper.

  17. Break up the deck into removeable section so you can do maint. in the future. Looks like four would do it.
  18. Weather , rain , snow, ect - Heat and cold , Two days ago it was 25 degrees to day its 80. Relative humidity, This changes all the time. Where and how the deck is built. Horizontal areas are prone to mold.
  19. Dale your information is for a building not a deck. A deck has major moisture issues to contend with. I never use film forming finishes on a deck ( floor ).

  21. You should buy some wood care books by the " forestry labs ". Solid stains trap moisture ! So over time it premotes decay.....
