  1. My life has forever changed!!

Enjoy and have fun, NOW! They grow up overnight.
  2. Women's Vocabulary: A heads-up to men!

Happy Valentine's Day! Nichole, Don't tell the secrets.:D Yolanda
  3. Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Now, for a prosperous New Year. Be safe.
  4. You all are so tactful and inspiring. When I was younger, I used to explode on people when I sensed they were trying to get something for nothing. Well, I have a kid in college so I had to select my clients carefully to keep the cash flowing. A prospective female client called me to clean her nasty and filthy deck. As I took the measurements, she said, " I don't make that much money." I didn't respond. Her house was around $450,000 and the "top of the line" Mercedes, in the garage, costed something too. I took pictures and emailed her a fair and reasonable estimate. She didn't call me to work, and I didn't call her to find out why. I knew it would have been to hard to work for her and I didn't want to chance it. Don't worry, be happy. Yolanda
  5. What are you really paying for gas?

Thanks for sharing that Beth. I use cash only because I don't pay attention to receipts like I should. Also, I have been noticing that when I'm pumping gas, the meter jumps from, say for instance, $49.90 straight to $50.00. Somebody got the LAW on it so maybe those roguish gas station managers might try something else to beat us out of our money. Yolanda
  6. New here

Welcome Rick! You're in the company of some really good people. Search and read, read, read, and read some more.
  7. Bartering

I believe I would let her pay me and then if my back starts to hurt I would call and schedule an appointment. My back will probably not hurt enough for a doctor's visit for that amount of bartering.
  8. Am I too high on residential

RChris57 I also agree with what has been said. We will not be happy with washing a house, stripping and staining a deck, cleaning flatwork or cleaning a roof that we resent because we allowed customers to set our prices—our worth. Now that’s what you call “hardwork”. Fair pricing, 100% satisfaction guaranteed, and outstanding work should seal the deal. If not, hit the road. Remember, what one won’t do another one will. Keep the faith. Yolanda
  9. Pat/Kevin I just thought a "primer type" wood conditioning step before staining might have been necessary to prepare the surface to receive the stain. After I order my products, I will test before I go out to work. Kevin, after researching the stated stains, I feel that they are great choices to work with. I am aware that there are other great products out there, but I will only commit to a few for now. I sincerely thank both of you for your prompt responses. Yolanda
  10. Hello Everyone, I would like to know if prestaining wood .i.e. decks is optional. If not, what do I use before applying my stain? I am planning on using Baker's or Ready Seal. I am just starting and I need to do it right the first time. Please let me hear from you. Thank you, Yolanda
